Chapter 79:

“It is obvious you all are scared of me. You fear that I'd best you, isn't that the case?” Ethan snarled as he spoke to them.

He was only trying to do one thing, and that was to make them come at him. He was trying to make them fight with him and let go of the young boy they had been beating. They could kill him, and that wouldn't be fair, not even for a split second.

“This is your last chance to leave!” they warned as they began to trudge closer to where Ethan stood.

They had thought he'd run away, that he'd leave them and flee, but Ethan didn't. He stood his ground, waiting for them to come closer to him.

The second they got closer, their presence towering over him, Ethan didn't flinch or show fear.

“Hit me!” he dared them through his gritted teeth. He had suddenly forgotten his words about not causing more harm or trouble for himself.

“As you wish!” one of them let out and immediately lifted his hand and punched Ethan in the face.
