Chapter eleven

"You signed it Chloe, you have no choice…You can only buy your freedom if the Carter's group refunds the money that was given to them with an eighty percent increase." Authur explained the rules of the contract to everyone present and he watched as Chloe shook her head in disbelief.

"What are you saying, I didn't see that on the contract, you must be lying." Chloe was in a state of shock, she didn't remember reading that on the contract.

"It was written boldly on the top page of the contract document, only a dumb person would miss that." Authur's mouth curved into a smile.

Authur was right, she was dumb! If only she had read it.

Chloe didn't see the need to read the contract, she had signed it without checking what it was about.

Authur had outsmarted her.

Chloe felt so ashamed of herself, she made herself a laughingstock in the presence of everyone.
