Did You Plan to Kill Me?!

The Magic God sat atop a gigantic building that was at least a hundred stories tall, his gaze fixed to the dawning horizon.

It's a building in High Barnet, not too far away from Rachel's stall.

He had left the cute granny in her stall attending way more customers than usual, apparently, now they even wait for her before she presents herself.

Asked her whether she needed help to which she said that he could go about his business, that she'd be alright so long as he came back in the evening.

She was lying, with the increase of customers she might likely need another hand, but the old lady didn't want to impose, so far she's blessed that her small business is going so well thanks to him.

In truth, it's her own effort, he did but to add a little advertisement, but the cute granny is just like that.

...

Deciding to give her the chance to grow on her own, that didn't stop him from taking some... measures, to ensure her safety, and not only hers, Sarah's too.

Especially the latter, since he saw the boys' attitudes in the 'VRworld' he knew some event was likely to take place, he just didn't know when.

In his hand, there was a chip, the famous chip that supposedly contained thirty million pounds.

On his other hand, there was another... but this one was a mass of metallic goo that twisted and took many shapes, perhaps trying to replicate what lay on his other hand... inside that chip, it was a complicated architecture of modern engineering, just with analyzing it is not enough to understand it.

Once again he felt shocked with these human's capacity to create things... and destroy their own world in the process.

'Is there a middle ground?' He wondered, after studying Sarah's arm, he noticed it wasn't as inefficient as he originally believed, it deteriorates, but so does the human body... magic is a form of evolution, the natural way, the result of a human body struggling to adapt to its environment and become stronger.

But technology is also a way of evolution, a destructive measure it seems that gives humans power in exchange for the destruction of that they hold dear.

Is there a middle ground?

There is the VRworld too, what exactly is reality when two worlds coexist like that one parallel to the other? one world without deaths or consequences, without the fundamental purpose of existence.

Others might not be conscious but as a God, he is... the only difference is that one world is dependent on the other and will always be, once again, where is the middle ground? such a world has its uses, even back in his Magic Realm, it would have been immensely helpful to have such an invention to teach magic.

There are too many possibilities, but the river breaks into two paths, a hopeful one and a despairing one.

This theme and subject had been so interesting and according to his own desires, that he seamlessly placed his and Sarah's encounter in the back of his mind.

Morpheus had always been oblivious to the matters of love, if his past lovers hadn't made a move, he'd likely not engage in such a 'time-consuming' as he called it, endeavour.

In the time that he spent hearing his ex-wife's rants, he would have saved dozens of countries from poverty and headed them to magical warfare of eventual dominance against the other realms.

That was until he married Yaksha, the lovely purple-haired beauty who would wholeheartedly support anything he did, and not ask anything in return... until the evening that is.

Once again he shook his head like he had done several times already during these days until something newer and revolutionary moved his mind out of her, but with Sarah's incident within his mind, his thoughts became more prominent.

His gaze moved to the building in high-barnet that was being wrecked, the place where the 'red blood gang' used to be.

"I didn't expect you to be so close, you're still not that good at concealing yourself, Zekron."

A metallic insect landed on his shoulder.

"How do you do it?" He didn't bother to look at it, his gaze remained to the front.

"Cameras... we can see... some of them... and the flying figure of a man is not something you see often... the individual flight is prohibited within the city's boundaries moreover, you don't have a chip with an identification script... if a police officer caught you, you'd be sent to jail and installed a chip... if they can catch you that is."

"..."

"Why aren't you getting a chip, Zekron?"

"Why would I? I don't need it..." His Seraphin body will never be inferior to those machines, as for the chip, as long as he doesn't know the implications of whatever is happening with it, he'd not be involved with anything like that.

"It's going to make your stay in this world easier... and our communication." The little insect insisted, if he really tries to conceal himself, it will be difficult for V2 to find him, or better said, trace him.

"And who says I need to communicate with you?" He mocked lightly and stood up, surprising the insect at his sudden dismissal.

*RUMBLE*

<Light Sentience>

Activating second-tier magic, it seemed as if the whole light of the world started to flicker as his body morphed lightly and changed.

The insect regarded all this with interest, what exactly is he doing!?

This is another matter he had wanted to test, invisibility.

He already knows the concept behind it, but hadn't reached such a perfect scope as this world's people seemed to have done, the concept behind it is to reconfigure the colours of the wavelength that is released from the body, V2 managed to see how for a minute he became 'invisible' but it wasn't perfect... if one looked from an angle, a shape could be seen.

"Ridiculous, Zekron... are you trying to conceal yourself from me?" Whatever means he's using, the insect can already 'see' how the shapes are disappearing.

"Not at all... you're the one that said it, right? my concealment is still not perfect... the secret is, curves." He curled up his invisible lips.

Smoother curves mean less 'shape'.

A few seconds later, there was no Morpheus anymore.

"..." The insect was left too baffled to even react, not because of the concealment itself but... because he's not supposed to have enhancements.

"See you later V2, I'm quite interested in this Officer Null..." His gaze moved to the entourage of police officers that seemed to be 'searching', there, a silver-haired beauty with tight police clothes was visible, only this time she didn't have a black cloth covering her eyes, her silver eyes were visible for anyone to see... in fact, she threw a brief glance their way, despite the fact that they're being separated by several kilometres of space.

It's as if she's 'here'.

"It's not a secret... not from you, that's my vote of confidence, one that you seem to not want to correspond, Zekron."

"You know about Rachel and Sarah..."

"But that's not a secret you're actively trying to conceal... even the vagrants in the street know that connection."

"Regardless... I'll see you later."

*WOOSHH!*

After a brief light spark, the insect fell from where it had been laying against, representing his departure.

'...'

Much later that night, an unexpected incident would take place, one that happens once in a million times, each time the 'revolutionaries' decide to get funny.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!----------------------

An explosion took place in high-barnet, shrouding the skies in fire as the people ran to get secure, thinking that it's just 'another' terrorist incident of those that happen quite often.

A ball of fire got released from the explosion, falling relatively slowly compared to the pieces of scalding metal and burning corpses... one could see how the metallic appendages burned slower than the flesh.

*WOOSHH!!*

That wisp of fire fell atop a building quietly, and then... the fire disappeared in a light spark, giving way to the form of a female that was panting harshly, holding her thumping chest with a confused expression.

'W-What just happened...'

There wasn't even a single burning mark on her body, but she had felt a lot of heat at that moment, making her sweat.

Right now, Sarah is beyond panicked, but the figure of Anderson and his men is nowhere to be seen, providing a sense of unprecedented relief within her chaotic heart.

'Morpheus!'

That's the only person that could possibly be involved with this, but the problem is... did he put a bomb in her body!?

But how did he manage to make the bomb not affect only her?

Her shoulder was being grasped tightly by Anderson, but what remained was a piece of metallic burning appendage that she quickly got rid of.

How many people died just because of that?! everyone that was on that bus!

She's going to have some serious words with him later!
