Although Dream's soul opened up an area for the skill, the shell wasn't the only place that the Hierarchy skill would occupy.Dream knew how complex the skill was. He could tell by how long it took Sophia to modify it. She's never had so much difficulty before with any other skills. But now that she had totally modified it, it was time to actually give Dream the skill. And knowing how extensive it was, the skill would have to not only occupy space in the shell, but the space in between the shell and the nucleus. With this, there would be 3 layers to Dream's soul. When Sophia got her hands on the data for a skill, she could do three things with it. She could either write a new skill to Dream's soul, hold the data for the skill and do nothing or mess with it, or integrate the skill with another existing skill. Unless she did either the first or third option, Dream wouldn't gain much from the skill data. For the most part, whatever skills Dream got would be thrown into one of his three m
Although Dream and Sophia were working with Aegis's skills, it didn't take nearly as much of a toll as it did when working with his own skills.Even when Sophia was writing the entire Nexus skill it didn't take a crazy amount of energy. Although he was tired, he still had around 40% of his energy left afterward. And the reason he was so beat when connecting the skill was because of how he had to cut strings. That wouldn't need to happen this time though. All Sophia needed to do was edit strings and add some. Both processes were easy, and it only took half an hour for Aegis's skills to be totally revamped.Once they were, the power of the heart coursed through its new skills, stabilizing them and activating them. The first thing Dream noticed happen was the stealth activation.Once Aegis's stealth activated, the heart alongside the blood vessels seemed to disappear from the 4th dimension entirely. The only reason Dream knew they hadn't was because he could sense them through the connec
In the dome, Dream was sitting down with the girls. They were beginning the advancement."Alright. Luna, you first.""Okay... I choose [Spectral Familiar]."*Woosh*When Luna spoke, the mana around her began to fluctuate. Dream watched her closely with his senses."Talk to me.""Uhh, evolution? Species evolution. Wait, Iris..."*Woosh*"I didn't mean to!"Out of nowhere, mana started moving around Iris as well, causing her to be surprised. Dream's brow furrowed."What happened?""M-my class advancement started! I didn't start it though...""Hmm, it might be because of Luna. Just go through it and let me know what happens.""Uhh, I'm doing the same evolution. It's figuring it out... Fox spirit?""Mine says fox spirit too..." (Luna)"No! We're gonna become ghosts! Ahh! It's happening!"Iris shouted worriedly as they saw the notifications. And not long after that, both Luna and Iris transformed into their fox forms."Ugh... Everything hurts."Iris complained as she writhed in pain on the
After figuring out what to do, Dream didn't hesitate to test the theory. He was now on a clock, so the faster things went, the better. In the Arcana skill, there were thousands of strings. Many had different bits of data, enabling them to do different things. Dream needed to figure out which strings allowed him to control each energy. With Sophia's help, he was able to activate one string at a time. When he did, he used his influence as the medium to exert the power of the string onto the conflicting energies within his soul'Didn't work. Next.'After trying one of the strings on both energies, he found that it did nothing. Accepting it, he moved on to the next.1 string, 5 strings, 50 strings, 500 strings, 5,000 strings.Dream went through each and every one, not leaving a single one unchecked. Some strings would work on Luna's energy, and some strings would work on Iris's energy. Sophia kept track of which did which as they went along.<[Arcana] has levele

Although Dream suggested doing some experiments, he and the girls took some time to settle down a bit more. It had been an emotionally and mentally taxing 5 days for all of them, and a bit of recovery was in order. However, for these three, recovery usually involved them going out and fighting demons, allowing Iris to eat, gather energy, and send it to them. But doing this required them to activate their powers, and the girls were still skittish about the thought. They were worried that any sort of energy usage or fluctuations in their soul would cause imbalances in Dream's delicate mediation between their contracts. So Dream decided to take a day or two to just relax. During this time, he inquired with the two about their new skills and whatnot.Apparently during this advancement, Iris had gotten the least amount of changes. First, she got a new title called [Blessed of the Void]. And as per her [Spectral Annihilator] class, she got one skill called [Annihilation] and one called [Dep
After fighting for a long while and venting his anger on the demons, Dream eventually wiped them all out, and having calmed down, he decided to go back up to the factory. As they were heading up, Sophia gave him a rundown of the general global situation. Turns out, the armies were making great progress. From what Sophia had heard, the human armies were planning on pushing all the way to the landbridge. From there they would hunker down, stabilize their position, and then focus on recuperating at home. They had been thrown into disarray with the fall of the Mercenary Empire and the overall state of affairs didn't warrant an all out assault on the demon continent. The situation was similar with the Animal Empires. Actually, if directly comparing their states, the animal armies had it much better. The Empire at the forefront was the United Empire, otherwise known as the strongest single Empire on the planet. With everyone supporting that Empire in the war efforts, taking the offensive wa
After the battle at the stronghold, the Human Empires made a full retreat. They hunkered down in the cities and didn't come out. However, they were still able to find out about the nukes. It was difficult to hide such destructive weapons anyway.Dream made sure to do exactly as he said. No demon settlement was spared except for the ones with less than a few million. Those would be either taken out by his soldiers or the girls. All in all, none were spared, and within a week, most of the demons on the demon continent had been wiped out of existence. The whole thing caused Dream to sigh. He hadn't kept the war going out of personal gain. He wanted to let the Empires strengthen. That's what was so different about this world. Unlike how it used to be on Earth, conflict didn't only or mostly result in negatives. Here, whoever won the conflict would come out with many gains in the form of strength. In fact, during the war there had been 3 humans from the Empires who became class 4's. It was
