Marcus excused himself as the ambulance van took Kathie away. Lydia stared at him for some moments before walking closer to him.

"Are you okay?" she inquired, with no emotions.

Marcus scoffed, "Wow, I thought you have left the country, why did you come back, are you worried about me?"

"I think I shouldn't have come; you look alright," she said and turned to leave.

Marcus called her back, "You really came here to check on me? You still love me?"

Lydia sharply turned to him, "Love you? Over my dead body, you lowlife man. I just came here to check on you due to our history together. I still have some respect, rather than you lingering around women."
