"What do you mean you are here to arrest thieves? Who are the thieves?" Kathie snapped at Mr. Hamos.

"Calm down, girl, and let the police do their job. We will then know who the thieves are," Mr. Hamos confidently said and sat down.

The policeman began, "This woman here reported to us that her gold chain was stolen by you, Mr. Marcus."

"Me?" Marcus was puzzled. "When?"

Madam Bee hauled, "Stop lying. The chain was stolen by you. One of the staff saw you, and don't even lie because it will add to your charge. Kindly give me the chain."

"I don't know what you are saying; I have no chain on me," Marcus calmly said.

Mr. Hamos tapped the table, "According to someone who overheard you, Kathie instructed you to steal the necklace for her, and you did."

Kathie and Marcus looked at each other. This was a plan worked out by both of them.

Kathie uttered, "I don't know what you're pulling, but stop making false statements. It can lead you to jail."
