Lydia arrived in the room feeling distressed. She looked tired and so haggard; she didn't know the reason. She was feeling bad for what she'd done.

She was shocked to find her mom, her brother Tom, and her best friend Amelia inside.

"Mom, you didn't tell me you were coming," she delightfully said as she entered and hugged her mom.

She sat down. "You know, it was very surprising to me also."
