Marcus watched with concern as Sophia hurriedly boarded the plane, her sudden departure leaving him perplexed and worried. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

Feeling Kathie's gentle tap on his shoulder, Marcus turned to face her, his expression still clouded with concern.

"Let's go," she said softly, her eyes reflecting her own worry, so down.

Nodding silently, Marcus followed Kathie, "Uhm, what a long day!" he said to deliberately spark a conversation.

Kathie didn't respond and kept walking. They reached the car parked beside the airport. She opened the car for Marcus.

Observing Kathie's demeanor as Marcus entered. Her usually bright eyes seemed dull, and her shoulders slumped, and she looked puffy.

Concerned, Marcus gently placed a hand on Kathie's arm and asked in a soft tone, "Is everything alright, Kathie? You seem... different."

Kathie forced a weak smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. She hesitated for a moment before responding, her voice bare
