Marcus paused in the middle of the road where he was walking. What was this dark SUV with tinted glasses looking for in front of his house, he thought. Was the Oscorp corporation doing their findings on his house and wife now. He hoped it was all fine though. Or was it, was it his wife again. Was Chantelle in the car with Richard Banks again. Were they about to get off and shatter his heart, he asked himself. It would be better, he thought, if it was the Oscorp corporation, rather than his wife in that care. All these thoughts passed through Marcus's head in a few seconds. With everything that had happened today already, this right now, felt like the most important thing that had happened to him today. It seemed like an eternity, but after a few seconds of waiting, the car zoomed off. The person inside seemed to have noticed Marcus at the back of the car, staring at the car. As the car raced off, Marcus heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed like hi
It was a series of explosions. Marcus and Belle could see bright sparks of fire light up the factory. There was no need to ask what had happened. The Oscorp corporation spies had launched a preemptive strike. Late yesterday evening, after closing hours, Dominic, Espinoza and Burn waited a while for their friend, Luiz, to come back from the inspection with their new boss, Marcus. They had all waited for over fifty minutes. When they saw that he was not coming, they decided to leave without him. Dominic, Espinoza and Burn proceeded to walk to the car park. They all walked there, entered their cars and made each other good night. They all drove off, one by one, with Burn up front and Dominic at the rear. Unknown to both Burn and Espinoza, Dominic had only driven for a while and lost both their cars and decided to turn back. Dominic did not in any way want to alert his friends to what he was doing in the factory. He had a secret meeting this evening and
It was a wild day in the factory. People running around. Some screaming in pain, or fear, or both. Some lay on the floor injured, while some of them picked themselves and walked away from their point of injury. It was a sad sight. Marcus and Belle, after seeing the letter directed to him, were silent. Marcus was sad and angry. His workers were outside, in pain, clamoring for help. He was angry because this was set up just because it was the Krafth family that came to possess the factory and not the Oscorp Corporation. At this point, the hate for the Oscorp grew higher in his heart. He was going to fight. Fight till the end against them. He slowly dropped the paper in his hand on the table. He walked to the window overlooking the factory once again. He saw the fire all around him. Belle was quiet and had not said a word at this point. She could feel the aura emanating from Marcus's body at this point. It was solid and angry. It was also cold.
Marcus had left the factory really late again. It seemed like since he became the boss there, something had been happening every day. It was a really weird thing. After the paramedics had taken care of every injured person at the factory, and the firefighters had killed every fire, it was really late. Marcus has even sat down and stared into space. What was happening, he had thought. It just clicked to him at one point that it was really late. His wife was at home, and he had been getting home really late. Knowing how smart his wife was, she was probably already noticing his late coming, even if she had not said anything about it. He took a look at the factory. He would be here tomorrow morning, he thought, and this time, this time, it was war against the Oscorp Corporation and every spy that worked for them in his factory. Marcus had left immediately. He did not have anything in his office that he needed. He walked straight to the car park. Huncho was
Chapter 045 Yesterday was a really stressful day for Marcus. After the explosion at the factory which he deemed to be his fault, he had gone home to his wife, kissing another man, in his own home. She has tried apologizing and had even tried to make it his fault later on. Marcus realized as he got ready for work today that, as much as it was her fault, it was his also. However, this was still no reason for her to cheat on him in their matrimonial home. Marcus saw the food she had packed for his breakfast and an apology note on his way out of the house. He just picked it up and went out of the house without reading it. Marcus walked a while, until he was out of his neighborhood. He saw Huncho parked, just ahead. As he drew closer to the car, Huncho got down to open the door for him. “Good morning boss. How was your night?” he asked. Marcus did not know how to reply. He zoned out for a bit. He came back to, and entered the car. “It was fine, than
Stephen had decided since he was younger that if not anything, he was going to become a spy for the Krafth’s in any Oscorp related business. So, when he was chosen to represent them and work in the Banks' side of business in Edinburg, he was thankful. He had been working there for over a year as a secretary, when he became privy to the plan against Marcus. Normally, the identity of Marcus was still not known to the world, but, Stephen being friends with Belle and both of them working for the same person, knew who Marcus was. Stephen once he got to know about the plan against Marcus, immediately left work. He called in sick, rented a car, went to get some guns in his rented apartment. He did not want to stand out so he got a very small and not exactly luxurious car. Stephen, on finishing this, went ahead to where he believed the plan was going to go down. Ok getting there, he heard gunshots, and he immediately jumped down from the car and got into the f
Marcus had just removed the ‘cloak’ he wore when he was about to enter the building in their boss's office when he heard a voice he had almost forgotten. “Marcus,is that you?” the voice asked. That voice, Marcus thought. That was the voice of Dave, David Sommer. Marcus slowly looked up. He hoped in his mind that it was not Dave. He settled his eyes on the person that just called out his name. It was Dave! Dave Sommer has been Marcus's best friend and roommate when they both were studying in the university. They had met on the first day of resumption in the prestigious Edinburg International University. Marcus, a bright-eyed young man, had been offered a fully paid scholarship to study there. This was something he could not have dreamed of. The university was one where influential and very rich people went. Marcus was very shocked and happy when he got a letter of a fully funded scholarship from the school. He knew this was a step forward. It
Luiz walked to his car silently and deep in thought. The factory has already started undergoing reconstruction early this morning. It seemed like the owner, Juliet Krafth, already learned about what happened in the factory yesterday. Luiz thought she would come here to ascertain the level of damage, but it seemed she was not going to. Miss Krafth must have already talked to the boss, he thought. Marcus however had still not called for him today, he wondered if anything was the problem. Luiz got to his car and opened it. He got inside and just used a hand to bring forward his food from the back seat. He got his lunch and got down from the car. While locking the door, he noticed something on the windscreen. A ticket? He moved closer and found out it was a letter. Luiz took a few seconds looking at the letter. Who could have dropped a letter on his car? Was it dangerous? Was he safe? These kinds of questions were flying through his mind. After
