I got down from his bed and looked for him. I couldn’t find him anywhere. I faced the vintage wall clock and interpreted the time. It was seven minutes past seven. I wondered when he brought me here.

He’s such a sneaky scoundrel. I glanced at what I wore. I was in a white nightdress. I panicked, was it Elliot who changed my clothes. I wouldn’t take it lightly with him.

I might be his mate but I deserved respect too.

I cooled my anger and searched for food. There was nothing edible in his room. It was frustrating.

Someone knocked at the door. I ran towards it, hoping he was the one. I opened it but saw Nora instead. She smiled and entered the room.

“Good morning, Miss Halton. How was your night?”

I didn’t believe it. The same woman who was my senior some days ago became my maid today. This type of lifestyle was lavish. I loved it.

“Once again, call me Lexa.” My mouth watered when my eyes met with the delicious tray of breakfast she had in her hand.
