2023-11-16 04:46:25The sunlight seeped through the window and highlighted a figure on a bed, his arm and head was bandaged and you could still see the slight blood. His face was ghastly pale and his lips were chapped and dry.
All in all, he looked very sick and feeble, if you did not look closely, you would not know that the figure was a 'he' because of his weak physique.
The figure grunted and squinted his eyes open with difficulty, he closed them back as he was unable to adapt to the sudden brightness. Soon, he opened them again and this time, clearer.
Of course, the figure was Ivan.
Ivan furrowed his brows tight and looked around.
"Where the fuck am I? What happened to me?"
He was in a luxurious room that looked like a room in a five star hotel. The room was clean and was painted white, it was very quiet and apart from Ivan's slight breathing sound, there was also a beep sound from the machine beside him.
His eyes widened in realisation, he was in a hospital but the room looked different from the rooms that he had been before. If not that he had seen the clinical equipment that was monitoring his heartbeat and pulse, he would not have believed that he was in a hospital room.
Moreover, the scheme of the hospital was white, including the ceilings.
He shut his eyes, trying to remember what happened exactly and how he got here and then it hit him with a bang.
His depressed state of mind when he went for a walk and how he got into a fight with some unreasonable people. The only thing he remembered was the blurred figures of those guys as they absconded.
Ivan was still deep in thoughts when he suddenly heard the loud ringing of a phone, he looked around having realised that the ringing tone was his. Then, he saw his phone on a table nearby.
When he saw the name displayed on the screen, he clenched his jaws and hesitated before picking it.
"Hello? Lucy is that you?" Ivan questioned in doubt.
"Yes, it is me. Where have you been? You did not come home the whole night, did you?" She asked and Ivan took in a deep breath.
If he said that he was not glad about Lucy's concern, it would be a lie. It seemed that Lucy still cared about him a lot and he could not help but be glad.
If she could apologize, he was ready to forgive her.
"I am sorry, I was caught up with something, is everything alright?"
"Come home." Lucy said simply and Ivan nearly laughed aloud. He felt that although Lucy's voice was calm, she still liked him.
"Alright." He agreed without hesitation and with that, Lucy disconnected the call.
He smiled and traced his head that had been throbbing with his hands, soon a nurse entered the room with a notebook in her arms. When she saw that Ivan was awake, she smiled gently and checked his conditions and the monitoring machine before speaking up.
"How are you doing sir? Do you feel any discomfort anywhere?"
"I am okay, but how did I get here? I can't remember any thing." Ivan asked in doubt and the nurse answered, with the same gentle and polite smile on her face.
"You were brought here yesterday night by someone, you were unconscious and injured with bruises all over your body, he claimed that he saw you unconscious in a dark valley." She said and Ivan frowned.
He actually wished that the person did not save him because he could not see any reason for him to be alive but still, he was grateful.
"is the person still around? I want to thank him personally."
"He left after paying your bills and making sure that you are okay, he was also the one that arranged for you to be in a VIP ward." The nurse said and Ivan's frown became deeper but he just sighed after.
What if his son was as lucky as he was now? What if he also got someone to help arrange a VIP ward for his son? Ican shook his head, knowing that there was no what ifs.
"Alright, thank you, but can I leave now? I need to attend to something." Ivan asked the nurse and she contemplated before nodding slowly.
"Your wounds are just superficial, you don't have any internal wounds so you can be discharged, you don't have any thing to worry about, it has all been settled." She said and Ivan nodded, he could not help but be very grateful towards the person that helped him.
With everything settled, Ivan took his phone and left the hospital before walking towards his and Lucy's house with brisk steps. He already knew that Lucy wanted to apologize to him, so he walked even faster, enduring the pain on his legs and left arm.
He had requested for the nurse to remove the bandage and he rolled his sleeves to cover the wound on his arm, his bangs also covered the wounds on his head.
Soon, he got home. He saw two cars in the garrage. One was Lucy's while the other was a Porche car. He shrugged and walked inside.
He bumped into an unfamiliar lady the moment he entered, he was surprised.
Was she Lucy's new friend?
"Ah, i am so sorry, so sorry." The lady apologized profusely, Ivan quickly waved his uninjured hand to tell her not to worry.
"Are you here to see Miss Lucy? I am a maid that she just employed, can I know who you are?" The lady said very politely and it made Ivan embarassed.
"My name is Ivan, I am Lucy's husband." He said with a smile but the lady's countenance changed and she suddenly scoffed, contempt and disdain evident in her face, It caught Ivan off guard.
"So, you are just the useless and good for nothing husband? Tsk tsk, I was respectful for nothing, such bad luck." The lady said after looking at Ivan from head to toe. She had thought that he was some low key young master, but she was mistaken.
Ivan was enraged and was about to berate the lady when he heard Lucy's voice.
"Ivan?"
Ivan glared at the lady before bypassing her and walking inside, he saw Lucy sitting elegantly on the couch, a man in suit was sitted beside her. He was holding a briefcase.
Ivan suddenly got a bad feeling but he forced himself to calm down and was about to ask who the man was when Lucy handed some papers over to him.
He looked at her in doubt but she just raised her brows.
"Read it." She said and Ivan nodded.
But as he started reading, his eyes dilated and he trembled before raising his head to look at Lucy and the unfamiliar man on suit.
"Divorce papers?"
