CHAPTER TWO: The chosen one.

+++++

Planet Mercury inhabits two separate species, The Knovadians and Mercurytes. But how?

The Knovadians once inhabited a dwarf planet that was dying slowly.

Mercury, inhabited by the Mercurytes, was at the verge of colonisation as they were loosing an ongoing war against another larger planet in the solar system.

The Knovadians took this to their advantage, making a forever deal with the Mercurytes to help them fight the war. The Knovadians used their advanced tech knowledge to build enormous weapons and the Mercurytes used their magic as a power source. With the combined force, Mercury won the never ending war.

The Mercurytes honored their word and allowed the Knovadians to live in Mercury, together for eternity.

Decades passed and a new King ascended to the throne, KANVATRON. That was when everything changed.

He had a completely different motive towards the Knovadians. He felt, with how much the Knovadians has expanded, they'll take over Mercury. He planned wipe them out completely.

The Knovadians couldn't sit and watch, so they reinforced themselves. This enraged Kanvatron greatly and he sent his army at the Knovadians. The Knovadians retaliated, causing a great war on Mercury.

|MERCURY|

The red part of Mercury belonged to the Mercurytes, while blue part belonged to the Knovadians. The planet was more like the present earth, infrastructural wise.

Today, war raged the Planet just one reason - Dominance. Both races fought against themselves. Dead bodies of both sides congested the battle field, including large beasts, homes destroyed, debris everywhere.

Only one Knovadian warrior was left -Evex- in his yellow armor forged out of Mercury's magma, a chain attached to his sword wrapped around his right arm. Ninety percent of his men had been killed, while the rest captured. His face expressed fatigue and showed how bruised and battered he was, his long orange hair scattered and exposed with no helmet.

He stood before thousands of Mercuryte slodiers, armored and armed with heat powered sabers and a few with laser riffles. The Mercurytes had more advanced technology[stolen] than the Knovadians this time around.

He yelled in a battle cry and ran forward, his sword raised high up.

Thoom!

He leapt with enough force to take him high above all others. He landed and dug his sword into the ground. Everywhere in half a mile radius rattled greatly, before a truculent explosion erupted, obliterating everyone amidst it. Evex stood back up, unscatched.

Zylox appeared in the clouds, over the battle ground, his hands behind him.

“Very thoughtful Nihil. It's been long since i sent anyone to the afterlife”, Zylox smirked.

“Nay Zylox. I brought you here because of that”, Nihil spoke telepathically. Zylox looked down at Evex, who had just slain about a hundred soldiers and proceeded.

“Is this even a fair fight?”, Zylox muttered.

“The Mercurytes and Knovadians once lived in harmony, not until, when Kanvatron became the king of Mercurytes and decided to rule over both species. He corrupted his people -the Mercurytes- with taunting words. But the Knovadians opposed and here we have it”

“Where is Knavatron then?” Zylox asked.

“Right there ”

Zylox's eyes turned plain white and he spotted the 8ft Kanvatron, with a skin that looked like it was made of scales. He was onned in a sleeveless blue armor and he had red eyes that would make one tremble under his gaze. One thing though, he was invisible to everyone else.

“Coward”, Zylox frowned. With a wave of his hand, Kanvatron became visible. He folded his palms and Kanvatron began to choke as his life force slowly eluded him.

“Stop it!...”, Nihil yelled and Zylox obeyed.

“...this was bound to happen, we only need the warrior” He added.

Evex side stepped to dodge a sword slash and kicked the soldier away. More closed in on him. He loosened the chain around his arm and skill fully spun his sword, slashing through multiple soldiers, killing them at an instant. He held onto the hilt of his bloody sword and leapt, but never came back down as he disappeared in a glow of light.

|NEAR VENUS's ORBIT|

Evex appeared and landed abruptly on an asteroid, the size of a football field. He stood up to see Zylox standing before him. He quickly tightened the grip on his sword.

“Who are you? Where am i?”

“Evex, King of the Knovadian race. I am Zylox, the last Energod ”

Evex's eyes widened, “No way!”

“Seems I'm known around these parts also”, Zylox smiled.

“Wh...why did you bring me here?”, Evex stammered still not letting go of his sword.

“You believe i am the chosen one?”, Evex asked, after being debriefed.

“You possess all the qualities needed to weild it...”, Zylox answered and materialised a black glowing ball in his palm. He handed it over to Evex.

“...This grants you a portion of the force's power, and if you're the right one, you will automatically have full access to it's vast abilities”, he added.

“Thank you”

“Chosen or not, a guardian you were formed to be”, Zylox spoke in Nihil's voice.

“Enjoy it while it lasts”, he said and vanished.

Evex smiled as he stared at the ball in his hands, the black glow reflecting on his healed face. His senses piqued as he heard footsteps getting louder from behind. He turned to see Kanvatron, bringing down his dark sword vertically in an arc. He swiftly held up the ball to block it. The sword banged over the ball, causing a small crack round it. Kanvatron raised his sword aloft to strike again, but got repelled by an energy field that erupted around Evex.

The repulsion sent Kanvatron twirling back, so he struck the asteroid with his sword to maintain balance. Cracks began to emanate round the asteroid. In no time, the asteroid shattered into large rocks.

Kanvatron smirked and waved his sword forward, releasing a wave of dark energy towards the latter.

Evex pushed the ball forth to shield himself. The force of the dark energy struck the ball, expanding the crack on it. The Impact almost made Evex loose his grip on the ball as his hands became feeble. Then he got hit and was shot far back, into deep space along with an asteroid rock. As he traveled at a blurring speed, the ball glued tightly to his chest. He could see some amount of energy sip out of the cracks in the ball and swirled into the asteroid rock, covering it in black hue.
