Chapter 13

In a quiet room, Gibson reclined on the bed. The image of Calista's figure troubled his mind as a man.

Gibson shook his head, trying to dispel the thought. "Damn! Why does Calista's image keep haunting me?"

He sighed in frustration, feeling a pulse below as Calista's image reappeared. Gibson turned when he heard a knock on the door, furrowing his brow in confusion.

"Gibson, open the door," the voice sounded like Calista's. Gibson promptly stood up and approached the tightly closed door.

"What's up, Calista?" Gibson asked without opening the door first. His heart suddenly raced, and Gibson didn't know what was happening to him.

"Open the door," Calista commanded from behind the door. Calista stared at the closed bedroom door until Gibson finally opened it, and he currently averted his gaze.

"Are you okay?"

Gibson shook his head slowly. "No, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

Calista furrowed her brow, then sighed when she saw Gibson still looking elsewhere. "What's wrong? You seem different."
