Chapter 39

A handsome man stared seriously at a document in his hand. His face wrinkled as if he didn't like what was written inside. He sighed and leaned back in his chair. He glanced sharply at the young man standing in front of him, who lowered his head. Occasionally, the young man glanced at Hans.

"Is what you said true?" Hans asked, not taking his eyes off the document he had just read.

"Are you referring to Mr. Richard?" his employee replied.

"Yes, you said he was fired and lost all his wealth?"

"That's correct, sir."

Hans furrowed his brow, then returned to his original position and slammed the document down on the desk with enough force to make it echo throughout the room.

The man was startled by the sound of the document being slammed by Hans. His glasses even slipped, and with trepidation, he adjusted them back to their position.
