Chapter 3

Gibson's heart raced as he stood there, shocked, absorbing the sounds from behind his room. His wife, Kiara, was laughing with a man inside.

Anger and disbelief surged through Gibson. Without hesitation, he burst through the door, his emotions unfiltered.

Luckily, the bedroom door wasn't locked, so Gibson easily stormed in.

A nauseating sight lay before Gibson, something he had never imagined.

"What's happening here, Kiara?" Gibson's voice quivered with a mix of pain and anger.

Kiara's laughter subsided as she turned to face her husband, her eyes widening in surprise. On the other hand, Hans appeared startled but quickly composed himself.

"Gibson, I can explain," Kiara began, her voice trembling.

"Explain? What is there to explain?" Gibson's voice grew louder, his patience wearing thin. He glanced toward the man who was now beginning to dress after an intimate encounter with his wife.

"Mr. Manager?"

Gibson stared in disbelief at what lay before him, but the words from Mr. Manager instantly ignited Gibson's anger.

"Yes, it's me, Gibson."

Before Gibson, Mr. Manager moved closer to Kiara and kissed her hand, signifying their relationship as lovers.

"As you can see, Gibson, we are a couple," Mr. Manager declared.

Gibson shook his head, unable to believe what he had just heard. "No, this must be a lie, Kiara, right? You're joking, aren't you? We're a happily married couple, Kiara."

Kiara laughed, seemingly no longer needing to pretend in front of Gibson. Her body, covered by a sheet, clung to Hans' broad chest, and she stared at Gibson with a sharp gaze.

"Since when did I love you, Gibson? I was just playing around with you. Besides, you're poor and just an ordinary employee, even at risk of being fired," Kiara said, a sardonic smile on her face.

Gibson shook his head, convinced that Kiara couldn't possibly be speaking this way. He tried to approach Kiara, but suddenly a strong push was delivered by Mr. Manager.

"Hey, Gibson! Are you that foolish? Can't you hear what Kiara said? It's clear that she was just toying with you and regrets marrying you. Is this evidence not enough?"

Mr. Manager raised the corner of his lips, feeling triumphant as the woman beside him clung affectionately.

"Remember, Gibson! You're just a poor man, don't expect to stand beside Kiara."

Mr. Manager and Kiara continued to display their intimacy, causing Gibson to clench his fists.

"I won't stay silent, I'll definitely retaliate for your actions. And as for you, Pak Manager, I'm sure you're colluding with Richard. You set me up, didn't you? Is this because of Kiara?"

Mr. Manager's raised lips confirmed Gibson's accusation.

"If it is, so what? Can you do anything about it?"

Gibson's fist clenched by his side. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. The person he trusted professionally had betrayed him personally.

Without warning, Gibson began to strike Mr. Manager relentlessly.

Kiara screamed, attempting to stop Gibson from beating Pak Manager.

"Stop, Gibson! You have no right to hit him."

Kiara pulled Gibson away and pushed him, distancing him from Pak Manager.

"Damn you, Kiara! How could you take his side? What about our two-year marriage?"

Gibson shot Kiara a gaze filled with disappointment. He couldn't believe that the woman he had been married to for two years had been secretly cheating on him. To make matters worse, Kiara had brought her affair partner to their apartment.

"You don't need to ask, Gibson. I've already told you I regret marrying you. I thought after being with you from nothing, you would succeed. But until now, you're just an employee."

Kiara looked disdainfully at Gibson, no change in their marriage at all.

"Do you think your salary is enough? I even had to ask my parents."

Hearing that, Gibson could only remain silent. No wonder his in-laws had said he couldn't meet Kiara's needs, considering she had been asking for their help frequently.

"I've been working extra jobs, Kiara! What more do you want? You're the one who's ungrateful."

Kiara turned away, unable to accept Gibson's hurtful words.

"Fine, if that's what you want, Kiara, I'll divorce you as soon as possible."

Kiara smiled, her hand still affectionately on the shoulder of Hans, the manager.

"Great, Gibson. I've wanted this all along."

Gibson was disappointed to hear Kiara's words. The trust and love they had built were shattered in an instant. How could Kiara do this to him? Especially considering how genuinely she used to seem to love him.

Trying to calm himself, Gibson spoke with a mix of anger and emotion, "I regret knowing you, Kiara. The woman I thought could be the mother of my children has betrayed me instead."

Kiara only responded with a sardonic smile. Her actions and words confirmed that she truly didn't care about Gibson's feelings anymore. Meanwhile, Mr. Manager Hans remained silent, seemingly enjoying the outcome of his plan.

Seeing Kiara's cynical smile, Gibson lost all hope. He decided to leave the apartment right then and there.

"Why, God? Why does everything have to happen like this?"

The sky outside was clear, but his heart was filled with lingering dark clouds. Gibson didn't know what wou.

"Help me god, help me avenge this pain," Gibson muttered looking up.

Gibson sighed and took another step. "Wait, my Kiara, will come and bring the divorce papers," Gibson muttered again.
