Chapter 52

Tonight, Gibson, who was still in the hospital, turned his head when he heard his phone ring. The phone was on the nightstand, its screen lit up as someone was calling.

Despite the pain from the stitches in his abdomen, Gibson reached for his phone, determined not to let this opportunity slip away.

"Argh, darn it! Thanks to Richard, my stomach hurts like this. How could he do this to me?" Gibson muttered as he grabbed his phone.

The phone continued to ring even as it was now in his hand. Gibson furrowed his brow when he saw a new number calling.

"Whose number is this?" Gibson wondered.

Curious about the new number that had appeared on his phone, Gibson pressed the green button to answer the call.

Once the call was connected, Gibson placed the phone near his ear.

"Hello," Gibson tried to greet the person on the other end. He furrowed his brow again when he realized there was no response at all.

Gibson attempted to move the phone away to check if the call had been disconnected. The call
