After the tension-filled decision at the civil registry office was finally carried out, Gibson and Kiara were officially separated.
There was no more connection or attachment between the two of them.
"Congratulations on your breakup, Darling!"
Calista wore a wide smile on her beautiful face. Without hesitation, Calista deliberately planted a kiss on Gibson's right cheek.
She knew this would further ignite Kiara's jealousy every time she saw it.
"Darling," Hans called out from behind his girlfriend.
"What's the matter?!" Kiara snapped, her focus still on Gibson and Calista, causing her to unintentionally berate her boyfriend. "Oh, Darling... that's not what I meant. I'm sorry."
Hans shook his head slowly, puzzled by his girlfriend's behavior.
"You're not feeling jealous, are you?" Hans asked, seeming to understand the meaning behind her actions.
"Of course not, Darling. How could I possibly be jealous of them? That's impossible," Kiara emphasized, not wanting her boyfriend to misunderstand.
Hans distanced himself from her. Kiara, trying to appease him, seemed almost desperate.
Calista, observing this, smirked condescendingly.
In her mind, a good and perfect man like Gibson should not be hurt by a woman like Kiara who liked to play with emotions.
Calista's thoughts were unclear, but she seemed satisfied when she saw Kiara getting upset when she was close to Gibson.
That woman deserved some sort of punishment for what she had done.
"Are you okay now?" Calista asked, looking at the man who still seemed engulfed in sadness.
His mouth and facial expression didn't show his sorrow, but Calista could clearly see it in his eyes, the pain in his heart right now.
Who wouldn't be hurt seeing their trusted wife involved with another man?
It would be better to have just two-timed and then gone far away from his life. But these two wicked individuals were still in the same place where Gibson was, not to mention their habit of belittling and underestimating him.
Anyone would be hurt by everything that had happened.
"Why do you need to be sad anymore? A woman like her doesn't deserve a husband like you, Gibson. You're worth everything and shouldn't be owned by such a lowly woman," Calista assured the man.
Gibson's gaze, once fixed straight ahead, now shifted towards Calista. He seemed to be looking deep into her eyes.
"You can't be weak like this. I'm sure you have a clear purpose and desire. Don't think about anything else. You deserve to be happy and have the right to choose a new life," Calista emphasized her words.
Every word that formed that sentence appeared to influence Gibson's thoughts.
Gibson nodded in agreement with every word that had come out of Calista's mouth.
"You're right, Calista. I shouldn't be thinking about this. I need to prove to Kiara that I can be happy with my current choice and move on from her."
Calista gave Gibson two thumbs up. She then reached for the bag hanging on her shoulder, took out her phone, and checked every message on it.
"Hmm... what's going on? Is something happening?" Gibson asked when he noticed Calista's focused expression on her phone.
Calista, hearing Gibson's words, turned to look at him. She then showed her phone to him.
From outside, the room's door opened again. A pastor, dressed in his distinctive clergy attire, entered while holding a Bible in his hand.
"I've asked my assistant to bring you some clothes. There's a changing room over there. We can use it," Calista said, already prepared.
Everyone in the room shifted their attention to the newly arrived pastor, who stood on the pulpit. It seemed like a wedding was about to take place there, but none of them knew whose wedding it was.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Kiara was still trying to convince her lover. Anyone could tell that Kiara was clearly unhappy upon discovering her husband's connection with someone as famous as Calista.
"I'm sorry, Honey. I just didn't like the way that woman was looking at me. I know she's a top celebrity, but that doesn't mean she can look down on me like that," Kiara explained, now accusing Calista of being the mastermind behind it all.
There's always an excuse used as self-defense by women. Clearly, she doesn't want to be blamed.
Five minutes passed, Kiara, who initially tried to persuade Hans to talk to her, fell silent as she heard the applause from the crowd.
Both Hans and Kiara simultaneously shifted their gaze, following the direction of the commotion that had taken over the room.
Adorned in a bone-white gown and holding a bouquet of roses, Calista walked gracefully toward the impromptu altar.
"What is she doing? Is she trying to put on a new act here?" Kiara muttered with a mocking smile. But a thought crossed her mind: if Calista was dressed as a bride, then who was her groom?
Quickly, Kiara turned her head towards the back. Right by the officiant, a well-dressed man with a perfectly tailored shirt stood beside the priest.
"Gibson?!" Kiara gasped, realizing that her ex-husband was about to marry someone as high-profile as Calista.
A perfect smile adorned Calista's face as she reached the altar, facing Gibson directly.
The officiant then directed them to gaze into each other's eyes first.
"Do you feel nervous, Gibson?" Calista whispered softly.
Gibson looked at Calista intently and nodded slightly.
"Never doubt it. We share the same strong purpose. Everything we do is to achieve our individual desires. Together, we are stronger. With both of us, we'll easily conquer it all," Calista assured him, easing his tension.
The officiant proceeded with the marriage vows, and everyone in the room, including Kiara and Hans, witnessed the union of Gibson and the famous Calista.
Just as the applause celebrated their official status as husband and wife, Gibson appeared somewhat awkward, but Calista's gaze reassured him.
Gibson then leaned in, planting a deep kiss on Calista, even though their marriage was a contractual agreement they had intentionally entered into.
Evening has arrived. The newlyweds who had exchanged their vows at the altar earlier in the morning were now inside a car."Where are we actually going, Calista?" Gibson asked as he drove."You'll find out soon enough, Gibson. Slow down, and take the next left turn up ahead," Calista instructed, still not looking at Gibson.Gibson didn't ask any more questions. He followed all of Calista's directions until their car entered an elite area with rows of large, luxurious houses."Stop in front of that big white gate," Calista gave another directive. It turned out they were moving to a very large house, which Calista claimed to be one of the most beautiful houses in the city. From the outside, it looked like a palace with a beautiful garden.A man in a security uniform was seen running towards the large white gate. He promptly opened both gate doors wide."You've finally returned, Miss," Fred, the security guard at the front gate, breathed a sigh of relief."Of course, I'm coming back here
"I'll show you to your room, Gibson," Calista said, walking towards a partially closed door. "This is your room, Gibson.""Very nice room, Calista. So, where's your room?" Gibson inquired."My room is right next to yours, Gibson. You can rest now. I need to take a shower," Calista replied before leaving the room designated for Gibson. As Calista exited Gibson's room and closed the door, she noticed Sofia standing near the top of the stairs, looking at her with significance.Although Sofia was the head servant, she had raised Calista since childhood and was no longer formal with her.Calista, understanding Sofia's intent, simply smiled and entered her own room. Sofia followed her and closed the door behind her."Tell me everything. No matter how good your acting is, you can't deceive me. I've been taking care of you since you were a child," Sofia said as she arrived in Calista's room. "I know you must have an unreasonable plan just to defy your father's arrogance," she continued with a
At the corner of Calista's lips, a slight smirk appeared as she glanced at another beautiful, famous actress who shouldn't have been on the same shooting location as Calista."I didn't expect to see you here," Calista maintained her thin smile while placing the script draft on the small table next to her folding chair. The woman was named Sandara. On numerous occasions, she had lost out to Calista, whether in securing lead roles or winning awards. Sandara always felt envious of Calista's beauty and popularity."I came here because my latest film shoot happened to be adjacent to your location, Calista. And I'm the lead actress," Sandara proudly announced the news she thought was excellent."Wow! It's amazing. Should I congratulate you, San?" Calista asked with a somewhat biting remark.Calista had her reasons for speaking that way. She had grown weary of Sandara's attitude. Not once or twice had Sandara made sarcastic videos directly aimed at her."What's going on here?"Suddenly, a de
"How about it, Gibson? Are you satisfied seeing their pale faces?"At this moment, Gibson and Kiara had already returned from the cinema. Even though they were the only ones in the theater earlier, they still enjoyed it."Yes, Calista, of course, I am satisfied." While driving, Gibson remembered how his former mother-in-law's face turned pale. Not just pale but embarrassed as well when he ruthlessly insulted her."I've never seen such a desperate look on an old woman before. Instead of self-improvement, she mocked and belittled you," Calista spoke again.Gibson remained silent, listening to Calista's words. What Calista said was indeed true. Even at her age, which was nearing sixty, Gibson had never seen any goodness in that woman, or maybe she had never been good to him."Did your former mother-in-law treat you poorly during your marriage to Kiara?" Calista looked at Gibson, who was deep in thought. For some reason, she was curious about Gibson's life before meeting her."I don't kno
In a quiet room, Gibson reclined on the bed. The image of Calista's figure troubled his mind as a man.Gibson shook his head, trying to dispel the thought. "Damn! Why does Calista's image keep haunting me?"He sighed in frustration, feeling a pulse below as Calista's image reappeared. Gibson turned when he heard a knock on the door, furrowing his brow in confusion."Gibson, open the door," the voice sounded like Calista's. Gibson promptly stood up and approached the tightly closed door."What's up, Calista?" Gibson asked without opening the door first. His heart suddenly raced, and Gibson didn't know what was happening to him."Open the door," Calista commanded from behind the door. Calista stared at the closed bedroom door until Gibson finally opened it, and he currently averted his gaze."Are you okay?"Gibson shook his head slowly. "No, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"Calista furrowed her brow, then sighed when she saw Gibson still looking elsewhere. "What's wrong? You seem different."
A bright morning didn't coax a beautiful woman from her slumber; she looked comfortable lying in her soft bed, with the blanket almost up to her chest. The sunlight streaming through the window crevices caused her beautiful eyes to flutter. The sun's rays now fully met her captivating gaze as a man, none other than Gibson, pulled back the curtains wide open."Close the curtains," she said, turning away to avoid the sunlight.Gibson sighed and walked closer to Calista, then pulled the blanket, hoping she'd wake up soon."Wake up, it's already noon," Gibson informed her."I'm still sleepy," Calista said, pulling the blanket back that Gibson had uncovered.Gibson shook his head and sat on the edge of the bed, watching Calista with her eyes still closed.Even in her sleep, Calista looked incredibly beautiful, making Gibson curl his lips upwards. Somehow, he found himself entangled with a beautiful and wealthy woman like Calista, as if it were all a dream."Am I so beautiful that you're st
The atmosphere inside the building is bustling with visitors. Gibson and Calista, who are also present, choose to find comfortable seats to sit."Calista, why did we come here?" Gibson asks as they sit in a corner of the room.Calista smiles, her mind returning to the previous night when she received information that Gibson's ex-mother-in-law was attending an antique auction. Calista had just learned that the woman had a liking for antiques."Of course, I came here for you, Gibson."Gibson furrows his brow, not understanding Calista's words at all. "For me? What do you mean?"Calista smiles again, her gaze searching for a middle-aged woman she wants to outbid and embarrass."You'll find out soon enough, Gibson, just follow my lead," Calista grins, making Gibson slightly apprehensive about what she has planned.A few moments later, an auctioneer takes the stage that had been prepared before the event began."Good afternoon, everyone," the auctioneer greets everyone in the room. It's cl
The residence of the Kiara family appeared calm and quiet. Only a middle-aged man with fair, milky white skin was visible. He was resting, reclined on a soft sofa with his legs slightly bent. There were still faint and muted groans, as the man continued to endure the pain that was gradually subsiding.Yes, just a few hours ago, this man, who was around 50 years old, had been in a rather serious accident. The person he had collided with was now in the hospital, and he had to cover the medical expenses. Not only that, but he also had to bear the cost of the damages to the victim's car, which he had rear-ended."Argh! What a terrible day," he grumbled while holding his head, which still throbbed from the impact of the accident. As he was complaining with his throbbing head, a notification sound from his mobile phone interrupted him. He quickly grabbed his phone, unlocked it, and read the incoming notification. His eyes widened, and his heart raced when he saw the amount of $35,000 displa
