Chapter 6

After leaving his mother-in-law's house, Dason rode his motorcycle down the highway, driving aimlessly. Just before starting the motorcycle engine, he sent a message to Audrey.

'[Audrey, my wife, I'm sorry for all the unwanted events so far. And I also apologize for my shortcomings while being your husband, because I have not been able to be a good husband for you. I have not been able to protect you, and I have not been able to provide a decent life for you. But I thank you for accepting me, and of course I will never forget the beautiful memories of our time together. I love you, my wife.]'

The long and neatly written message was like a farewell message that Dason sent to his wife. He didn't know that Audrey's cries were getting louder after reading the message. Audrey felt that Dason would leave her.

Along the way, Dason actually thought about the message he sent. He was a little sorry, but it was too late; Audrey had read it. Every now and then he pulled over and checked his cell phone, hoping for a reply message from Audrey or maybe a missed call. But there wasn't. Her sadness and heartache grew.

"Audrey really doesn't expect me anymore," he muttered in a weary tone.

At one point, Dason's old cell phone finally rang. But from this sound, Dason knew it was not a message from Audrey but an incoming notification on the mysterious app. Dason pulled over, opened the messages, and read them.

'[Congratulations! $1 billion has been successfully transferred to your account! Get ready for the next task!]'

Dason sighed heavily again, his head throbbing. Thinking of the mission given this time, it was mentioned that he had to go outside the city, more precisely to the countryside, and settle a land dispute there using the $1 billion in a very short time.

'[Hurry up! You only have 10 days; if you don't succeed, then your savings balance will be zero.]'

The follow-up message he received and this second mission left him confused.

"Settling a land dispute? I don't know where the disputed land is!" Dason was annoyed at this nonsensical mission, but it had to be carried out immediately; otherwise, he wouldn't have any money.

"Aarrghh!" shouted Dason, who finally released some of his burden by shouting on the side of the road, not caring about the stares of others.

Moments later, there was a call from Ella. She asked Dason to come to her apartment unit to discuss the details of his second mission. Dason wondered how Ella could know about the mission, even though Dason had never told anyone about it. Ella said that she would explain later, after Dason arrived at her apartment.

By now, Dason was sitting in the living room of Ella's apartment. Listening to Ella explain the mission that must be completed this time.

Apparently, apart from Dason's cell phone, the mysterious application was also installed on Ella's cell phone. Ella only realized this after Dason left her apartment unit a week ago. Now, every time a message comes through the app to Dason, a copy will also be sent to Ella through the app. Ella then thought that she should help Dason complete his missions. For some reason, she believed that her late boss was the one behind the mysterious app, although, to be honest, she wasn't sure either.

Ella helped Dason prepare things that he could later use to complete his second mission, such as some important documents and some copies of his ID.

"It's a long way to the village; you should buy a car," Ella advised Dason.

Dason looked at Ella's face for a while and then nodded. Dason then remembered the message on the mysterious app about him getting a luxury car that he could pick up at Showroom M. He now wanted to confirm the truth of the message.

"Alright, after this, I'll buy a car!" Dason said firmly, making Ella nod her head in agreement.

That same day, Dason went to Showroom M to buy a car. At Showroom M, while he was looking for a car with the help of a saleswoman, someone called out to him.

"Dason! What are you doing here?" asked the young man, who turned out to be Halbert, one of his brothers-in-law who was there with his girlfriend Lisa.

Dason just smiled and continued to listen to the saleswoman explain the various advantages of the car she was offering.

"Hahahaaa... this poor guy wants to buy a car?"

"Are you sure you didn't get in the wrong place? This is a place that sells cars, not a place that accepts car washes!" said Halbert, who continued to make fun of Dason. Because he never imagined that Dason could buy a car.

Halbert insulted Dason even more when he found out that Dason was observing and looking for information from sales about super luxury cars.

"Are you still healthy, Dason?" asked Halbert while laughing out loud.

"You think that car costs the same as your smelly shoes? It's expensive; you wouldn't be able to afford even one tire!" shouted Halbert, laughter still lingering on his lips.

"Ma'am, you'd better find another customer instead of getting tired of explaining, and he won't be able to afford it!" Halbert said this to the salesperson helping Dason.

Dason tried to ignore Halbert's ramblings, but eventually he couldn't stand hearing all the words coming out of Halbert's mouth.

"Shut up, Halbert!" shouted Dason right in front of Halbert's face, which made Halbert instantly silent, but only for a few moments.

Dason no longer cared that Halbert was his brother-in-law because his emotions were already at the top of his head. He had been trying to hold back his emotions because he did not want to make a scene in a public place and also respected Halbert as his brother-in-law.

"Wow, you have the nerve to yell at me!" shouted Halbert unhappily as he pushed Dason's shoulder, while Dason's hands were both clenched perfectly.

"What if I can afford this car, huh?" asked Dason irritably.

Halbert's laughter echoed inside the M showroom, a cynical laugh that hurt the ears of those who heard it. Including the salesmen who were serving them, they could only stroke their chests at the insult after insult thrown by Halbert.

"Don't dream, Dason! A poor and ignorant person like you can't afford a car like this!" replied Halbert right in front of Dason's face.

"Wake up from your sleep. Dason, you're sleeping too well!" chuckled Halbert again.

Irritated by Halbert's insults, Dason finally challenged Halbert to a bet: if he could bring home the luxury car he was looking for, Halbert would let him slap him three times, in front of everyone!

"Sorry, if you want to fight, you should leave our showroom, especially if you keep disturbing other customers," said Heller, the manager.
