Chapter 11

Paul looked at Jeline. He really just could not figure out what she was thinking. He felt like she was becoming stranger and stranger these days. She just got a text and said that she was leaving. He really wanted to ask her who had texted her but for some strange reason, he did not do it. He kept holding himself back. Perhaps, it is a good thing that she decided to leave. She won't have to run into that woman, at least not today.

Paul knew that he would have to figure out what to do about this. A woman, who looks exactly like Jeline, just thinking about it, it made him shudder. "Alright Jeline. Let's just leave this place. Do you have somewhere that you want to go to? I can drop you off there. Let's go together" Paul said. They had only seen each for less than an hour. He did not want to let her go like this, but it wasn't as if he could stop her anyway. He could only spend some time in the car with her as he drove her to wherever she wanted to go.

Jeline shook her head. She did not want Paul to take her. She was going to the hospital to meet her future grand father in law who is sick. Paul did not have to take her. And besides, seeing the old man was only an excuse. She was going there to see Damian. Even though she had heard a lot about Damian Blackwell, the cold and ruthless billionaire CEO, she still had not met him yet. She wanted to meet him, and conquer him as soon as possible.

"No Fred you don't have to drive me there. I can go on my own. And besides, I came with my car. My uncle says that he wants to see urgently. I am going to leave now" Jeline said and walked away from Paul. Immediately she turned her back to him, a wide smile spread on her face. She was really very happy. Very soon, she will be marrying Damian Blackwell. Then her uncle and his entire family will be at her mercy. She definitely won't let those people go at all. Not after what they've done to her. She won't let them off easily at all!

Jeline pulled up in front of the hospital. As soon as she got down from her car, she saw her uncle standing in front of the hospital. From the look on his face, he was obviously waiting for her. A satisfied smile spread on her face. Of all the things that she had achieved, marrying Damian Blackwell was the best thing that has happened to her. Her almighty uncle was even standing in front of the hospital waiting for her!

She wasn't even married yet to him, and he was already acting this way towards her, once she gets married, what is going to happen then? She will definitely have the entire family beneath her. She is going to make sure she crushes each and every single one of them one by one. Her uncle, who thought he did her a favour by raising her like a dog. Her aunt, who taunted her whenever she got the opportunity. Her cousin Fred who treated her like she was useless and Lydia who treated her like a personal maid. They were all going to pay.

Immediately he saw Jeline get down from the car, Peter walked to her immediately. He was feeling very insulted. If not for the fact that that old man wanted this woman, why would he even bother with her? But since she is the one who is going to save his company, he had to put up with it. At least until she was married and saves the company, he was going to put up with it.

"Jeline, where were you? I've been waiting for you for quite some time now. It's been over an hour since I got here" Peter said. He knew that Jeline had probably taken her time just to spite him. Other people might think that she is a virtuous woman who struggled hard to make a name for herself but he knew just how vicious this woman standing in front of him was. Sometimes, he wondered how his calm brother and his innocent wife ended up having such a scheming daughter.

Jeline scoffed when she heard her uncle's voice. She knew that all the care and affection her uncle was showing her was phony. She had been through enough humiliation in  their hands to know that they did not care about her at all. They were only doing this because they needed her to get married and save  their company. She had no reason to be nice to them at all. Not after all they've made her suffer.

"Waiting for me? Why were you waiting for me? If you got tried after waiting for over an hour then why did you not go inside to see him first? Why did you have to wait for me?" Jeline asked. Her tone was very rude but she did not care at all. These people deserved all of this for everything that they've done to her. She already decided a long time ago, as long as she got her own life, she would definitely make them pay little by little!

Peter resisted the urge to slap Jeline hard across her face. Just what does she think that she is doing? Just because she is getting married to Damian Blackwell she is already looking down on him? She isn't even married yet and she is already making life difficult for them! It's all Lydia's fault. if only she had agreed to the marriage, then he won't have to deal with this useless woman! Why, just why is Lydia so stubborn and stupid?

He pushed back all the anger that he was feeling and smiled his best smile at Jeline. "You know that the person that they want to see is you. Please Jeline let's not make a scene here today. It's not going to look well for our family at all" Peter said. If she continued like this, he won't be able to hold himself back any longer. If he and Jeline argued here, Damian and his grandfather probably won't want anything to do with them anymore. At most, Jeline would lose the chance to marry Damian. She can simply go back to her acting and continue her life. But for him, he would lose the company. Gritting his teeth, he led Jeline into the hospital.

John, was still lying on his bed when he received a text message from Peter that he and his niece were going to arrive soon. It was just perfect. Exactly what he wanted. He had been thinking of how he was going to arrange a date between Jeline and Damian and convince Damian to go, but she actually came to see him. John had added that Jeline insisted on coming to see him since he was sick and he felt even happier. She was even caring about him when he was sick!

He happily turned to his grandson who was going over some files in his room. Even though he said he was going to spend the whole day with him, he was still working. Damian was such a workaholic. The only thing he cared about was the company. "Damian, guess what?! Jeline Anderson is here to see me! She is coming because she heard that I was sick! Isn't this so nice? The both of you can meet each other now" John said.

Damian sneered and rolled his eyes. Just who is this woman that she is able to affect his grandfather so much? Even though his grandfather had tried so hard for the past five years to introduce countless women to him, this was the first time that he was so enthusiastic about some woman that he was supposed to marry. This Jeline Anderson, she really must be something. Unfortunately, she isn't the something that he was looking for. She isn't April at all.

"Grandfather, can you stop being so excited about some woman coming to see you? Please as far as we know she might be just one of those women who want to get married to a rich man and live a good life!" Damian said. He did not mean to make fun of a woman that he had not even met before but he just could not stand how his grandfather was acting because of her. It was just so annoying. Just who is this Jeline Anderson?

John sneered at his grandson. The more he seemed not interested about meeting Jeline, the more he was sure that he was going to like her. Jeline is a woman who had risen above the odds in her life to make something of herself. He already did a bit of research and he knew just how badly her uncle and his family had treated her. But she did not let that hold her back, she became a well known actress. How can someone like that be like those other shallow minded women?

"You really don't know Jeline is. Her uncle, he really did not treat her well at all. Her parents died when she was really young and her uncle brought her up. But she never treated her as a family member. He always treated her like a maid. But Jeline was able to deal with all of that and she became a well known actress with her own efforts. How can you think that someone like that is after money? I can assure you that she isn't!" John said.

Damian rolled his eyes even more. He was not interested in knowing about the pitiful sob story of this woman. He heard better stories on a daily basis. He wanted nothing to do with her. But since his grandfather was insisting that he meet with this woman, he was going to meet with her, to make sure that she never wanted to see him again. It was even better that she was coming here today. He won't need to meet her another time.

"I really am not interested in knowing about the pitiful sob story of this Jeline woman. It has nothing to do with me. I'm only agreeing to meet her because you want me to meet her. I told you, as long as I don't like her, I won't have anything to do with her. You won't be able to force me then" Damian said. He was sure that he won't like anyway. The only person he would ever like is April. He was still talking to his grandfather when two people walked into the room.

Jeline and Peter walked into the room. Jeline looked around in surprise. This place isn't a hospital room. It's a palace. Although she had earned some money from her acting over the past five years, she was still breath taken when she saw a place like this. Needless to say these people were extremely rich. Damian Blackwell is the CEO of the Helain Group after all. What was she expecting? Jeline was even more convinced. No matter what happens, she is going to make Damian Blackwell her man!

Probably because she is an actress, she was good at hiding her emotions. Even though she was admiring the hospital room/palace, she still tried to make it seem like she was not interested in being here at all. Like she was forced to be here. She looked around and her eyes immediately fell on Damian Blackwell. Her soon to be husband. Jeline's mouth fell wide open in surprise. How can a man look like this?

No matter how good she was at acting, Jeline could not hide the fact that she was interested in this man. He really deserved the title of the cold and handsome CEO. He really was very handsome. Jeline felt like she was going to drown looking at his god like face. Jeline shook her head. Drolling over Damian like this won't be good for her image. Besides, she will have lots of opportunities to droll over his face in the future. "Hello, everyone. I'm Jeline Anderson" she said.

Immediately Damian heard her voice, he turned to look at that woman. The Jeline that his grandfather kept praising so much. Immediately he opened his eyes, he was immediately reminded of what happened that year, that year, when he had almost died. He remembered the feeling of him sinking in that cold river, a going girl trying her best to push him to safety, him being rescued, and that girl drifting farther and farther away. He felt a splitting headache. Damian looked at Jeline's face again. Why is he suddenly remembering this? Is this woman, that girl?! How, what is going on?
