Chapter 12

Immediately Damian heard her voice, he turned to look at that woman. The Jeline that his grandfather kept praising so much. Immediately he opened his eyes, he was immediately reminded of what happened that year, that year, when he had almost died. He remembered the feeling of him sinking in that cold river, a going girl trying her best to push him to safety, him being rescued, and that girl drifting farther and farther away. He felt a splitting headache. Damian looked at Jeline's face again. Why is he suddenly remembering this? Is this woman, that girl?! How, what is going on?

He looked at her more closely. Is she really the person that he spent so much time looking for? But his grandfather said that her parents died and she had been living with her uncle. But the person that he knew, her parents were alive then. What happened to her? What went on in the life of this woman? He suddenly wanted to know more about her, who knows? Perhaps fate wants to play a silly game with him. The person that he was looking for, finally might have come to him on his own.

Jeline noticed the way that Damian was smiling at her. She instantly thought that it was because he was interested in her. A face like this, how can anyone bear not to be interested? She was sure that she could conquer any man that she wanted with her face. Her face has brought her this far after all. There was no man who won't fall for her face at first sight. All those talks of him being a cold heartless jerk CEO and he is already smitten by her face in a matter of seconds. Since it is already like this, she will just go all out.

She smiled even more brightly than when she first came in. "Hello, I've heard a lot about the both of you from my uncle. I'm Jeline Anderson. I'm an actress. It really isn't easy in the entertainment circle but I can say that I am doing really good" Jeline said. She has always been a vain woman. Since Damian has shown "interest" in her, she decided to go all out with her introduction. She quickly improvised it, just to show Damian that she is a woman worthy of him.

John smiled. He was very satisfied with this woman. She was actually very beautiful, and she had so many accomplishments. She had constantly been abused by her uncle and his family but she did not let any of that bother her. She worked hard and got herself to the position that she was at now. So how can such a woman not be perfect for his grandson? A woman like this, she is perfect for a hard headed person like Damian.

Maybe if John knew about the things that Jeline had done to get to where she is he won't think so highly of her. But he did not know. She covered her tracks so well that it seemed like everything they said about her were just malicious rumours because she was popular. "Jeline, I'm really very happy that you can come to see me today. Thanks for coming to visit this old man" John said. He looked at this grandson. He looked lost. Of course, she was so pretty, how can he not be affected?

Peter saw that he was being ignored. John was over the moon to see the woman that he wanted for his son here today and Damian was lost in his own world looking at her face. It must feel really great for Jeline. To have every single man that she meets drolling over her face. Of course Peter and Jeline did not know why Damian kept looking at her like that. The both of them thought that like everyone else, he was interested in her pretty face.

Even though Peter was very annoyed, he did not want to forget about the reason why he came here. He wanted to make a good impression on them so that it would be easier for them to help his company in the future. "Hello, I'm Peter. Jeline's uncle. It's really nice to see you. Jeline really wanted to see you and I brought her here. She has been really excited ever since I told her" Peter said. He immediately tried to play the role of the supportive uncle who had the best interest of his niece at heart.

Damian was still trying to figure out why he felt like this woman is April. A lot of time has passed and he already accepted that April won't look the same again, but why did he keep seeing the fact of that girl who had given his life to save him? He wanted to know more about her. But, there also seemed to be something off about this woman. She sounded very vain when she talked. Like she was trying to inform him about her achievements.

How did the girl that saved him back then become this type of woman? Damian shook his head. He wasn't sure about anything yet. He can't just conclude now. He had to know more about this woman first. Damian turned to his grandfather. "I have something that I want to talk about with Miss Anderson. The both of us are going to leave first" Damian said. He had to find out, if she really is the woman that he had spent so many years waiting for

John was instantly very happy. He had thought that it was going to take forever to convince his grandson to give Jeline a chance but it was so simple. He did not even have to say anything and he already said that he wanted to talk to her! No matter what, before whenever he tried to introduce Damian to some woman, he won't even try to talk to her. And if he did meet her, he would make her hate him so much she won't want anything to do with him. But he actually offered to talk to Jeline.

He had every right to be happy. He had to give it to Jeline. The woman was really very amazing. She actually got to his son in a couple of seconds without saying anything at all. "Of course! If the both of you want to talk then you should talk. You can talk as long as you want. . . " John was still talking when Damian started walking out of the room. He did not want to listen to his rambling.

Jeline instantly got the clue and she followed him outside. She was beyond happy. Did they not say that this man is a cold and heartless CEO? Did they not say that he absolutely hated any woman trying to come close to him? But it had only been a couple of seconds and he already said that he wanted to talk to her! Jeline was already riding in cloud nine. She thought that she had her face to be grateful to for this. If she did not have this face, how can Damian respond to her so quickly?

In a way, it was because of her face. Because he kept feeling that Jeline was familiar to the girl that he had missed for so long, Damian was suddenly interested in her. He wanted to know more about her. If not for the fact that he kept feeling something familiar from her, he won't even bother with her. His first impression of her? A vain and arrogant woman. But of course, Jeline did not know this. They finally stopped when they came to the hospital's rooftop. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Jeline asked when they stopped.

Damian turned to her. Ever since he got past the idea that she might be the woman that he was looking for, he really did not like her attitude. If not for the fact that he wanted to confirm one thing with her, he won't even let himself be anywhere near this woman at all. He was actually hoping that he was wrong about her, that she is not that person. He was hoping that just like the countless times before, he was making a mistake because he was missing her too much.

"I have one question to ask you Miss Anderson. You, have you ever fCarrisa into the whater with someone else before and almost died? don't even think about lying to me. Tell me the truth" Damian said. If not for the fact that he was suspecting that she might be that person, he did not want to have anything to do with her. As soon as he confirmed that she was not her, he won't have any reason to be near her at all. He just had to confirm this one thing and get away from her.

Jeline was surprised. This was not what she was expecting at all. He said that he wanted to talk, so Jeline was thinking that he wanted to talk to her about the arranged marriage between the both of them. She was sure that he already knew about it. but instead of that, he was asking her if she had ever been in the whater with someone. Of course she had never fCarrisa into the whater. And what did he mean by almost die? She was really good at swimming. Why will she die?

Jeline did not have time to think that there was some other meaning behind his question. She decided to answer him quickly so that they could get back to talking about  their "marriage" . "No, I have never fCarrisa into whater with anyone before. And I have never almost died. I am really good at swimmingWhy are you asking me such a weird question?" Jeline asked. Even if Jeline did not think much about it, she just could not help thinking that the question was weird.

Damian looked at her. She just said that she has never fCarrisa in the whater. And she has never almost died. That means that she is not the person that he is looking for. She is even good at swimming. For the first time, Damian was happy that he was mistaken. Before, whenever he met someone who he felt looked like her, he would be disáppointed when he found out that it was not the person that he was looking for. But for the first time, he was actually very happy that he was wrong about this woman. She is not her at all.

"Alright. I already confirmed what I wanted to know" Damian said. He turned and started walking away from her. Since she said that she is not her then he did not have any reason to continue to stay here with her. And besides, he did not like this woman's attitude. Now that he knew that she is not her, he slowly started to analyze her behaviour. She kept acting like she was not interested in marrying him, but she wanted it to happen more than anything else. She was actually very desperate. Why does his grandfather think so highly of such a cunning woman?

Jeline was more than angry. What does this person think that he is doing right now? He just dragged her here saying that he had something that he wanted to talk to her about, asked her some really weird questions and now he is walking away? Does he even know who she is? What does he think that he is doing right now? Jeline felt like she had never been so insulted in her life.

"Hey, what do you think that you are doing right now? You dragged me here saying that you wanted to talk to me about something, you asked me some weird and silly questions and now you are walking away? What is this attitude? What did you want to talk to me about?" Jeline asked. She has always been a prideful person, and Jeline could not stand it when she felt like someone was insulting her. Even if he is the CEO of Sorian Group, he still can't treat her like this.

Damian turned to her and smirked. He was right. Just like everyone else, she just wanted to get married to the CEO of Sorian Group. This woman was even worse. She did not know her place at all. Since she had probably already been promised a marriage by his grandfather, she thought that she was already as good as married to him. She just did not know when to stop, he could see from her eyes, how desperately she wanted this marriage to happen. There is no way he will ever have anything to do with this woman.

"What do you think that you are talking about Miss Anderson? I never dragged you here. I said that I wanted to talk and you followed me here on your own. You should get your facts straightened out. And what did you say? Silly questions? That is very important to me. And we already talked did we not? I asked you a question and you answered me. Is that not a conversation to you? If Miss Anderson doesn't think that it's a conversation, do you mind telling me what a conversation is?" Damian asked her.

"You. . !" Jeline yelled and pointed at him. She had never been so insulted in her life!
