After having dodged the enemy’s raging blue fire balls, Elyenora couldn’t hold herself within the air for any longer and thus started falling down towards the ground.
Within that instant, the explosions sounded from below and she took haste in using them to her advantage.
With her rapier, Elyenora collected the powerful gales caused by the eruptions and used them to lighten her fall, landing right atop the branch of a tree which was a bit farther away. She was still keeping the powerful winds within her sword for later use, making sure to not lose that buff in strength.
The princess then glanced to where Mon’Ter was, around the area where the weaker assassins had gathered, and she promptly grinned, ‘Seems like Mon’Ter is still a wild card to them, they’re sure in for more surprises.’
The fact that Mon’Ter was travelling along with Elyenora, is something no one knew about, not ev
‘She is the important person...?’ Mon’Ter thought whilst gazing at the woman called Lioness, she wore some flashy clothing similar to the ones he currently wore, in that same manner at least. In one of her hands, she held a saber that seemed to be made of solid gold, quite the extravagant blade to say the least. The scene was filled with tension, with Mon’Ter and Elyenora facing off against Blaze, Lioness and Fiend.Arrow however, was still standing still while being held captive by Mon’Ter’s claws.Upon seeing this, Blaze suddenly piped up. “Hey, Arrow! What the hell are you doing? Get back over here!” He shouted, trying to get the man’s attention.Yet despite his attempts at conversation, Arrow didn’t give back any sort of reaction, simply standing there with his eyes opened widely as if he’d seen death itself.“Arr
With a forest fire raging on nearby, expanding more and more while threatening to burn down the entire woods. Both Elyenora and Mon’Ter rushed at their individual enemies along with them, as if in complete sync with each other, they all sent out a strike.Elyenora swung her rapier, smashing its edge right into Lioness’ golden saber and causing a powerful shockwave of gales to erupt from her blade. While Mon’Ter attacked with his elongated claws, going straight for Cazimir’s neck in an attempt to end him quickly, yet despite his best tries, the one nicknamed Fiend had stopped his claws with an invisible entity that he held in both hands. It was a relatively long weapon, like a spear but different, his hand posture was more so pointing the pole part of it upwards, rather than right towards where Mon’Ter’s claws had been stopped.“Weird...” Mon’Ter mumbled, unsure of how to feel ab
Mon’Ter gazed at the bright light which the dragon’s maw emitted, knowing full well what that entailed. It was about to use its breath attack, and with the size at which it was, that action would only lead to mass devastation.‘Damn...!’ Mon’Ter tried to evade, however it was too late for him to do anything of the like. With a loud roar, the dragon engulfed Mon’Ter with its brilliant flames, spreading them around the whole vicinity like a burning flood. He had braced himself for the impact, he had made sure to protect himself from it as best as he could, entering a sort of turtle-like position with his arm and legs.He even went as far as to prepare a counter attack with his own fire breath, charging it within his throat.Yet, when it came to the impact itself, another shock overwhelmed the monster with an even greater surprise. The flames.
Mon’Ter struggled to catch his breath, working on steadying it while pinpointing Cazimir’s location.‘In order to win... I can’t stop sensing out his location for even a single moment... To do so at full speed would be rather difficult but... I’ll just have to do it anyway,’ Mon’Ter thought in his mind, still plagued by the sensation that tingled his brain. The enemy he faced this time was powerful, perhaps stronger than himself even. Cazimir was able to slip out of Mon’Ter’s natural senses and escape into obscurity, forcing the monster to pinpoint his location with his strongest, radar like sense.‘I must surprise him with my next strike to seize the momentum!’ Mon’Ter concluded in his mind, deciding on how exactly he’d strike at him. ‘I don’t believe he knows of the range at which I can find him, if I rush at him now and attack in a different way..
The glow in Cazimir’s eyes intensified. In the next moment, there were five hydra-like heads popping out of thin air on his sides, with one standing right above him. The heads all opened their maws and began to charge an electric based attack that sent powerful danger signals to Mon’Ter’s senses.‘I need to move...’ urgency sprang Mon’Ter’s body into action. Even if it was truly tired to a point of break down, his body still acted on its own and began to move in order to assure his survival.“Dodge,” Cazimir murmured with a smirk. He watched as the lightning shot out of his magical creations and zoomed through the air towards Mon’Ter.The monster was barely capable of evading the strikes of lightning, moving his body in such a way that he’d been able to simply let the electricity pass by him with a small margin. Enough to not zap him into paralysis. His legs th
What had managed to cause such a change in Elyenora? What was the Hymn of the Abyss? Had she truly been pushed so far that she’d entered such a state? What kind of state was it even?To figure that out, we must know of what happened earlier on, during her battle with Lioness, the female assassin. In the moment that Mon’Ter had dashed away from the original battlegrounds together with Cazimir, and Blaze had gone to do his own thing due to being denied partaking in combat. Elyenora had simply continued her face of with the fearsome Lioness. There was nothing out of place here. The two women glided their blades over one another and swapped their places, sliding away from each other while turning around and brandishing their blades. Elyenora held her renowned blade, the famed ‘Silent Wind’ rapier. While the Lioness held her own saber, one that was seemingly made from solid gold.“You’re good, b
Alinesia’s every step made the air around her burn, Elyenora could feel the heat waves hit against her soft cheeks as she stared down at her opponent. The flaming avatar was imposing, however she had faith for victory still.Elyenora began using all of the wind at her disposal in a futile attempt to alleviate the scorching presence of Alinesia, the winds spiraled around her frame at increasing speeds. She moved her rapier to her chest area and pulled back, ready to thrust forth at a moment’s notice. The assassin smirked, then without a hint of hesitation dashed towards the princess at an accelerated pace. Elyenora could barely tell when the burning blade had begun to descend upon her, aiming towards her shoulder. The princess parried the strike and moved to the side, she instantly started sweating and losing moisture both in her mouth and on her skin, the sweat which appeared would instantly evaporate as it formed.<
“What’s with that look?” Alinesia questioned the princess’ gaze. It was a narrowed one, her sunset colored pupils were barely visible beneath her eyelids. The assassin shuddered from that gaze, and even took a step back much to her own dismay, ‘Why am I afraid?’She couldn’t answer that question, she couldn’t figure out what was so dreadful about a wounded girl whom she’d just defeated. Even if Elyenora had mustered more strength from the wind she’d gathered, what of it? It wouldn’t change the overbearing difference between the two.Or so Alinesia had thought.By the time she gazed back at the princess after her sudden step back, Elyenora was already standing, humming her calming melody without a care in the world. Her eyes were still fixated onto Alinesia and the assassin didn’t like it at all. Her stomach churned and a cold feeling enveloped her despite the r
Just as Mon’Ter was busy rotting on the inside, Samuel and Sereia were finally able to get back on their feet. Samuel could now see properly and move around, and Sereia had drunk a high grade healing potion that brought her back up to speed. “Agh… My back was killing me there…” Sereia said as she stretched, trying to get herself back into shape. “Do I even need to mention my head…?” Samuel held it, he still felt like it would start spinning again but thankfully it was over. “We really need to go and help Mon’Ter out,” Sereia mumbled out loud. “It seems like he got two of them but he’s facing that guy that my dad said was the best assassin in the world…” Still, they were a bit far away from the chimera and couldn’t assist him right away, especially since Mon’Ter’s fear came true. “It seems like we have our own troubles to deal with first…” Samuel pointed out as he gazed at the sky above them. “Huh? That guy again?” Sereia said in annoya
As Mon’Ter stood in a confrontation between himself and the three assassins, Sereia and Samuel did their best to catch their bearings and get to assisting him rather than being a burden for him. Thankfully, Samuel had some recovery potions on him, but due to his issue with coordination caused by Hendrick’s eye ability, he couldn’t move his arms in the right direction much less find where he’d stored the bottles. And as for Sereia, she actually did try to get to Samuel and find the potions for him, but, given how wounded her back really was she was having some difficulty pushing herself to stand back up and move towards his bag. Of course, this would only take her seconds to do in real time, maybe ten or twenty, but in the moments of combat those seconds would be more than enough for her and him to lose their lives at once many times over. They were dealing with assassins after all, and while these assassins were definitely slowed down from the g
Just as Elyenora was dealing with Alinesia with the help of Randus’ Gravity Zone spell, so were Sereia and Samuel working on using the spell to their advantage too. Seeing as they were able to outmaneuver their respective match ups and bring down two specters, they had now managed to get away from the other two old men who’d targeted them and made their way towards where Mon’Ter was being held down by Alinesia’s parents. That, of course, didn’t take long at all with the help of Samuel’s teleportation magic.Sereia quickly landed right over the female assassin with super long nails, Allison, while Samuel waltzed right into her husband, Hendrick, and swung straight at his arms that were holding Mon’Ter’s head up close to his eye level. On Sereia’s end, things were quickly and easily dispatched. Having had the jump on the opponent she was able to instantly get Allison to dodge her first blow and leave Mon’
With Alinesia’s light blinding everyone, Randus was able to easily move about by practicing a simple spell to allow his eyes to perceive past the blinding shine of her. He had basically created pseudo shades on his face which he used to escape from Lerroy’s immediate reach.During the course of the battle so far, the two of them had been flying high up in the air and blasting each other with all manner of magical spells, it had gotten to the point that most of the soldiers down below were getting nervous just by standing underneath them. However, Randus hadn’t just been mindlessly flying about and chucking explosions at his old master, no, of course not, he wouldn’t be where he is at today if he did something so basic. The whole time they were moving around the air space, Randus had been leaving small sigils in specific locations high above the ground and laying out a layer filled circle of magic large enough to encompass most of the existing su
Alinesia had completed her transformation, however, she wasn’t the only one making moves during that last minute of action. There were still many people on the battlefield, and the ones who made the biggest change aside from her, were definitely Randus, Samuel and Sereia who all made good use of the previous minute or so of time.On their side of the field, just as Elyenora and Alinesia were having their clash of wills, Samuel and Sereia both found themselves pushing against their respective spectral opponents. It had gotten to the point where they were chasing after these Low ranking Arch Lord Class entities as if they were hunting rabbits. It was at this time that both Gandar, the court mage of the Royal palace and the elderly master of the assassin’s guild intervened on their little chase. Gandar shot through the sky atop a conjuration of wind and flew near enough to be within his range of Samuel, he weaved his staff and made a spiraling motion with it b
Back to the princess’ side of the field, where she was facing off against a previous foe. Elyenora could feel that things weren’t going her way at all, she knew it in her heart with every strike she sent towards Alinesia and every second she wasted on fighting against her. But what could she do while everyone was being held back like this? There was one and only thing she could really do to try and help out.Ending the fight swiftly.Alinesia had certainly grown significantly since their last fight, she was more than the princess’ match even after Elyenora had gotten her significant growth spurt after releasing the spiritual cultivation shard from her body. However, it didn’t seem like the Lioness would be able to keep up with Elyenora if she just made a simple action and unleashed her newly acquired artifacts.“I’m sorry, but I’ll be ending our little rematch early,” the princess said as she pushed back on the fla
Cazimir fell, cut in half and in a completely stupefied state. Someone meant to have been on his side, an ally, had just taken him down. His bloodied eyes shone with a bright light and created shadow soldiers that tried to hold him back together, barely, even as his own blood and organs left his body to splatter down on the ground. “W–wh–y…?” Cazimir asked as only one of his eyes barely managed to move and look at Finn. “Because you interfered where it was not your place, stupid assassin,” Finn said, his eyes wider than an open door and staring the vampire down with intense pressure behind his every word. “Couldn’t you follow simple instructions? I told you. Don’t interfere with my fight. Leonidas is mine to do battle with.” “Bast–ard…” Cazimir barely mumbled out, and with another glow of his eyes he forced the soldiers to move him about ten meters away from the now enemy. With yet another glow, he summoned out a potion that fell from a litt
Alinesia glared at Elyenora with her fiery blade burning at her side. “It’s sure been a while, hasn’t it?”“You again?!” Elyenora clicked her tongue, she had been forced to stop right in her tracks by her once again, for the second time. “Why are you here!?”“Why?” Alinesia grit her teeth. “Did you seriously ask me why, you blond bimbo?!”“What?” The princess felt a little taken aback by the assassin’s words. “Don’t you understand what you’re working towards right now? Do you even know what my brother is trying to do!? It’s all foolish! Why would you work for him? You’re smarter than that!” Elyenora tried to change her mind if she could, though, it didn’t seem like Alinesia was here for money or anything of the sort by the look on her face.“You think I’m here just because that prince twat brother of yours asked t
“We kill all of them to get to him,” Mon’Ter’s voice reverberated throughout the entire space, being heard by everyone that surrounder him and his comrades. It caused several laughs to erupt, which then continued into multiple more and more until the entire enemy legion made a laughing stock out of Mon’Ter’s words.“Bold words from someone bound to die,” Gandar, the royal court mage, snickered at his words. “Who even are you, boy? Another knight? Not with that get up you’re not. Perhaps a mage? Shall I teach you some proper manners in speech?”“I’d actually like that,” Mon’Ter said truthfully. “But it’s not the time to be learning manners.”His hand extended and his fingers grew as his nails elongated into sharp swords capable of piercing the thickest of hides and slashing the hardest of steels. The strange development caused many to put their guard
