We just appeared on the other side of the portal. I have no idea why we just arrived, and it makes no sense that it took us so long to cross the thin border of the portal. While we were going through the portal, I was not conscious. It was as if I was in a trance, although I felt the presence of the strange man who made me follow him to that place.
Now, after passing through the portal, we are in front of a gate, a very powerful gate made of heavy metal. I wonder what metal it was made of, but it has a strong and supernatural look, and its appearance is dark. The walls holding the gate are extremely high, reaching high into the sky, making me and the old man in front of me look like dwarves. It looks like a lost medieval city, and it is the only structure I have seen in this wilderness. My eyes roam, and the only thing I can see is a dense, deep forest surrounding us, and mountains and hills disappearing into the horizon. I wonder where it has taken me. It is indeed a beautiful sight, and although it looks wild, the people - whoever they are behind those big walls - seem to really enjoy the sight of nature. Now I know why he's dressed like someone from the past; he looks as old as the city gate we are standing in front of . .
"Where is this place?" I ask, turning to the old man standing to my right."This is the central city of Eregon... From here everything will begin, as it is written in the prophecy," he says to me and I frown.
"What will begin here, and what prophecy are you talking about?" I say to him and he sighs.
"This is the place where you will make yourself known in Eregon, and for that you must take the Death Rune before sunset. That's why you need to come with me urgently, so let us not waste any more time, it's almost sundown. And as for the prophecy, you will know it after you take the rune," he says, and my eyebrows draw together uncertainly.
I have no idea what he's talking about, but I have already decided to go through the portal with him, so I guess I should be patient and learn what this place is all about and why I am here. I was stupid enough to follow him in the first place, so there's no point in trying to get smart now.
"I still do not know your name, what should I call you?" I say to him, and he slowly turns to me, and I gulp. It seems like I have upset him, because his expression really is not friendly. .
"I told you earlier that my name was not necessary at the moment, but if you insist on knowing it, my name is Kilish, and I am the guardian and keeper of the portal you have just passed through. The portal is the gateway to this world, an entrance from your world to ours. You said goodbye to Earth when you passed through this portal with me, this is another world, a world full of magic and its bearers, good or evil," he says and I gulp.I have no idea what he meant by 'you said goodbye to Earth' and I hope it means 'you can return to Earth at any time' because there's no way I am spending a night here.
He walks up to the gate and just puts his hand on it, and then it was like the old gate kind of took its imprint. As far as I have seen, there's no technology here, and I am wondering how the gate was able to check him out and allow him into the city. He goes in ahead of me, and since I did not want to miss him and get lost, I knew I had to rush in as well.
Lo and behold The moment I pass through the mighty bars of the gate, I hear a sweet female voice speak into my ears, "System activated! San'xi, trainee number 150, welcome!"
I turn quickly to see who is addressing me by the name Kilish has given me."You are only wasting your time if you think of seeing the owner of this voice. It was conjured by the magic of this place, and it speaks only in your mind. Everyone has their thought partner, and only you can hear what yours is saying," Kilish says, and I gulp."What is a thought partner, and what system is she talking about?" I ask Kilish and he ignores me as he continues forward, expecting me to follow him...
"Learn to communicate with your spirit partner, he will guide you in various aspects. To survive here to some extent, you will need his voice to guide you," Kilish says to me, and I start walking quickly, trying to catch up with him, because he has moved quite far away from me and is almost at the point where he turns right onto the path.
As I walk towards him, the voice comes back to me in my head and speaks softly, "My name is Delil, and I am your thought partner. I heard your question and thought you would be pleased if I told you.”
I want to keep listening to her, since she obviously has answers to some of my questions, and at the same time I am trying to catch up with Kilish, who has already turned the corner without me . .
"You activated a system when you passed through this gate. The system of supernatural creatures, evil and good. Your presence has caused your name to be written on the slate of the enemy, and from now on you must live here like everyone else, as you are now a target for the underworlders. In this system, you have no choice but to survive and, above all, to gain the power and knowledge that will help you fulfil the prophecy," Delil says in my head, and I freeze the moment she explains what activating a system is all about.C E N T R A L C I T Y, E R E G O N.I look into the fading sun as I pick up myself from the sands, which are like grated gold. The sands are shiny and it is as if they are very different from the one found on earth. The sun is usual to me. It looks exactly as the one that is found on earth, and looking at it, I can tell that it is not rising, if anything, I can tell that it is fading, and sunset is nowhere close to far. I am broken by what I heard Delil say, and thinking about everything makes me feel like dropping into the sands again and wallowing in it. I can't believe that I made the mistake of following Kilish into a world like this where the good are constantly hunted. I am now a prey to the otherworlders because I decide to step in with Kilish. I might have done something that I am unable to reverse. Kilish said I said goodbye to earth the moment I crossed the portal. could it mean that I am never going to go back to earth? What does Delil mean by my name has been written
C E N T R A L C I T Y, E R E G O NT H E C A M P It did not take long for us to make our way down the wide slope and find our way to camp. We have only crossed the gate, and I already can see different trainees going about their daily activities. They all have different ranks, and of different races. They all are staring at me, some look indifferent, and others look at me in a way that shows they are happy to have me here."Like I told you, not everyone knows all about who you are, and you are dressed in a foreign attire. They are not familiar with your style of clothing, and they are probably wondering where you came from," Coria says to me, as she notices I am beginning to get uncomfortable with the way they all are looking at me as I walk through the quarters. "They mean no harm, they are only surprised like Coria said," Delil says and I nod. She thinks in the same way as Coria and it makes me pretty relived. We keep walking and they keep staring at me. . . and it makes me wo
C E T R A L C I T Y, E R E G O NT H E C A M P It took me a while, but with Delil's assistance, I was able to get myself into these grey rags. It is odd, and it is pretty difficult for me to walk in. I feel restricted by the shrouds, and it is itchy."You are going to get used to it soon. You are feeling this way towards it because it is the first time you are trying it on. It is going to become your favorite overtime," Delil says to me as I walk up to the large piece of mirror that is hanging on the wall by left. I stride towards it, as if my joints are made from metal, as it is hard to me to bend my knees or move my elbows due to the way the shrouds are tightly wrapped around me at those points. I wish there was a way I could adjust it to give me a little space to breath, but it seems it is going to be pretty difficult. I might just end up putting all my efforts to a waste by losing it and starting to wear it afresh. I walk to the mirror and I stand before it, but the reflec
I’m still absentminded as I sink deeper into my thoughts...“Hey! You know you can trust me, right?”Jason says to me after fastening his own seat belt.I recover my mind from where it was lost in my thoughts.“Where was I?...ca...can we just forget about the nightmare?... It’s really no big deal. Why are you so interested, anyway?”I say, while already on our way to the office.“Wow! I never thought you would hide a secret from me, at least not in this world,”says Jason.“Jason, it’s no secret... I just don’t feel like saying it.” I whisper.“What else would you call something you don’t want others to know about?” He replies.“Look, I’m trying to protect you here..., what you are forcing me to say might ruin your entire day at the office… Just try to understand my point... please,” I plead with him.I glance at my watch. It is already 10:45, and we are still stuck in the traffic.“What did you just say? -You are worried about ruining my day-... well, head’s up! You just did”.He sa
I look back to the elevator door, as I'm just not convinced that it was a hallucination. My guts tell me that the kid I saw was real and every other thing that happened. But my phone is truly in my pocket, and from what I saw, it slipped from my hands. If the phone slipping from my hands was a hallucination, then she must be right about the kid. "I better delete the video," she says, waving her phone in the air. "No, wait! Before you delete it, send it to my phone," I request. "Alright!" she asks for my phone and sent the video into it, then she handed me back my phone and proceeded with the deletion."Gosh! I'm almost late for the interview" She says, as she slaps her forehead against her palm softly. "The interview!" I yell, and she trembles with a gasp."What, what are you talking about?" she asks curiously while she stares at me."I also came here for the interview," I reply. "Really?" she asks."Yeah, yeah I mean, I have an interview at exactly..." I say, and I look away fro
E A R T H R E A L M. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The middle-aged man in pressed black suit looked around in the crowd he found himself in anticipation to meet up with an old time acquaintance. Maybe more of an ex boss. The sound of the joyful crowd stopped him from being completely disentangled from his environment. He was almost drowning in his thoughts as he walked amid these random American citizens that seemed to be parading the street in celebration of the 4th day of July.An African American with a tattoo of a python peeking out through the collar of his white shirt and extending itself all the way to the back of his left ear. His hair was properly cut, and it had this amazing waves at the front of it that would charm anyone. It took him so much time and effort to be able to look this way after the fatal accident he had a year ago, but still his efforts could do nothing to conceal the scar which ran all the way from above his right eyebrow, slanting across his nasal
MINATO'S SECOND LIFE IN THE DREAMWORLD The light from the sun struck my eyelids... The sweet sounds of the singing birds was the first thing that hit my ears, it was also responsible for bringing me back from unconsciousness. The seawater crawled upon half of my body as a result of the tropical wind that swept over it. My eyes were still shot even though I had gained consciousness, not fully, but I was already half conscious, trying to figure out why it was possible for me to hear the birds sing across me while I was still in the comfort of my bed... “Maybe they are just on my roof” I thought to myself. I also found it hard to believe what I concluded, but I was in denial, trying my best not to realize where I truly was. “But…Where is the light coming from? Did I forget to turn off the light again last night?” I squeezed my eyelids tightly at the intensity of the light from the sun that kept striking my eyelids. I stretched my arm confidently with my eyes closed, because even
CENTRAL CITY OREGON I was plunged out of the dream in no time, and it seemed as if I had arrived into another new world at first until I saw Kilish and Ral standing beside me. I was sent into this dream where I lived life just like I used to live while I was on earth, and it was so special. “Welcome back Sanxi,” Ral says to me and my brows draw together. I wished they never brought me back here by waking me up from the dream. The dream was a remembrance of the kind of life I just to live on earth and it was full of freedom. “Why did you wake me?” I say to Ral and Kilish who are both standing beside me- Kilish on my right and Ral on my left. “You have misplaced your priority in the dream we sent you into. You lost your way from the true purpose, and it got to a point where you began to live another person’s life. The young woman called Iris Greenwood is not even in existence, not in this world and not even on earth. It was all just a trick from the enemy,” Kilish explains to me and
