Lauren was a single mother of two girls who had lost her husband to cancer 5 years ago.

Her husband was a landowner who owned a block of apartments which served as a source of income for the family.

During the early years of their marriage, everything was okay and there were no financial issues but after her husband got sick, everything started going downhill.

Enormous amounts of money were used to help him recover but it was all to no avail as at the end of the day, he died and left behind a mountain of debts to be paid.

The apartment building they owned wasn't able to generate enough income to pay for the numerous debts they had and that was when First City Bank approached her through a proxy to purchase the property.

However, she refused knowing fully well what would happen if she sold the building.

Several people had gotten refuge in the building due to its cheap rates and First City Bank planned on rendering them homeless to build a resort.
