Chapter 4

"Vyze, are you done there? Hurry up, we're the only ones here," Chaleigh impatiently called her artistic best friend. She was holding the handle of his pink suitcase.

The lights in the whole house were already turned off because they were just leaving. All their companions are already downstairs and they are the only ones left.

There is nothing new here for his friend and it is no wonder that she is the always last of all of them.

"Vyze! How long have you been there?" she called and tried to reflect the direction of the door.

It's not that dark even though the whole house is sealed. Its windows are only in each room. It also added thick curtains, which killed even more color in the bright morning.

She stomped her feet on the floor out of impatience. She snorted even more because she knew that their companions were waiting for them and she was worried that they might be impatient.

She thought for a while when her phone suddenly rang. She seemed suddenly lost herself and turned around to look for her cellphone but in the end she stopped when she remembered that she had her small bag tucked away where it was.

She quickly opened it and looked to see who called. She gapped when she saw that it was Mamo's name on the screen, she quickly answered, "Sorry Mamo, Vyze took so long. I've been waiting here for a while but she hasn't come out of the room yet."

She was still scratching her neck while apologizing. She worried that Mamo might get angry.

"What? Vyze is here, looking for you too!" Mamo said loudly.

"What?"

"Get out there and Vynx is waiting because he's going to close the main door. My God! We'll wait for you here," he said authoritatively.

She gulped and looked at the door of their room. She was full of wonder why she didn't see Vyze come out and why she didn't even ask her to leave.

Because of that thought, she startled and worried that she might be haunted or something.

The darkness around her added to her fear. In addition to that, the door behind her—the main door—gradually open.

Suddenly, the pounding of her chest accelerated, she felt a mixture of heat and cold in her feeling. She wanted to scream but she couldn't. She wanted to ask for help but she didn't know from whom. She closed his eyes and tightened her grip on her cellphone.

She heard footsteps behind her. Her fear intensified because of that. Her knees were shaking as if even her ability to stand was dissolving from fear.

It was the feeling she hated the most—fear. Sadness is no longer broken because she can find a way to be happy. But the fear, she doesn't know how to fight it.

"Chaleigh?"

She let out a loud cry when suddenly someone grabbed her shoulder. "Chaleigh!" She even jumped when someone grabbed her arm.

"Let me go! Help! There's a ghost here!" she screamed while hitting and punching him everywhere. The man defense is constant so as not to be crushed.

"Chaleigh! Oh my! It's me—aw!" It was only when he touched his face that she realized she expected wrong. She couldn't see his face yet because he was still holding it but his attractive smell and his clothes in pants and a black hoodie jacket made her recognize who it was right away.

"V-Vynx?"

He moaned because of the pain. "It hurts," he said and the fear she felt automatically turned into shame. "Why did you hit me?" She bit her lip and looked away when he faced her and was still holding the corner of his lip.

"I-I..." She gulped almost the lump of her throat and unable to look at him straight. "H-How come..." she started grumbling. "Your twin left me." She grabbed her suitcase and pulled it but stopped.

She faced him annoyed. "Then you don't even know how to talk with your mouth!" She pointed at his lips. "You just come in quietly so the door opened slowly with scary sounds. Who wouldn't be scared?!" she shouted at him. "Why all of you like that?"

"I'm the only one here with you," he corrected.

She stunned and looked around. He's right, they were the only people in the house. She sighed in annoyance. "I mean, you and Vyze. In any crack in her mouth, you locks your mouth," she said firmly. Vynx didn't say a word so she turned her back on him while dragging the suitcase towards the door.

She left him inside and knew that he had followed her. She just went straight down the stairs and let the wheels of her suitcase bounce on each step. But she was stunned to see one of its wheels bouncing down. Because of that, she snorted and slapped his forehead. "What an idiot you are Chaleigh!"

She leave her suitcase and stepped down to pick up its rolling wheels. She chased after it until she reached the last step of the stairs. When she picked it up and stood up straight, she slowly looked up when she realized that she had left her suitcase upstair.

She knew she left Vynx inside the house and expected her to follow but was still surprised to see him standing next to her suitcase and playing with the house key on his index finger. That just means he finished closing the main door.

Vynx just stared at her and it was unlikely that he had any plans to speak. And she was right because after five seconds of Vynx just standing next to her suitcase, he didn't say anything.

He just moved and picked up the suitcase then stepped downstairs. She watched him as he approached and his thick eyebrows grabbed her attention.

His face is handsome even though it looks like it's frowning but the gentleness is still there. She just looked away when he looked at her closely and saw a bruise on the side of his lip. She knew she was the one who did it and Vynx shouldn't have helped her because of that.

She just played the wheel of her suitcase in her hand. She had no choice but to accept his help, after all he was already down the stairs while he was carrying her suitcase.

She was only slightly surprised when he stared at her as he passed in front of her, so she couldn't take long to look into his eyes.

She took a deep breath to inhale his sweet scent as he passed her. She smiled because his perfume was one of the perfumes that symbolize a man's handsomeness.

He walked faster that when she got to the car, she couldn't see him to get in. "Why you took so long?" Mamo complained to her when she looked at him from the window of the van right ahead.

"Sorry, Mamo." She pretended to sob as she spoke and went straight into the van. A single chair appeared in front of him with a large bag on it.

She knew it was Mamo's, but Mamo was sitting in front next to Colthen who was in the driver's seat.

"Why did it take you so long, Sis?" Yvaine asked her who was sitting in the third row of seats. Next to her is Vyze who is near the window and is currently poking something in her face while facing the small mirror.

"It's because of Vyze!" She pointed at Vyze. "I wasn't even called," she grumbled and her eyes searched for where her suitcase was.

"What are you doing? When I came out, you were gone. I thought you had left me," Vyze answered and was still busy doing what she was doing.

"Nye nye! Where is my suitcase?" she asked after rolling her eyes at her.

"It's here," Yvaine answered and it was as if she had beaten something. She couldn't see it because the backrest of Nivo's seat was blocking it. But by the sound of it, she knew it was her suitcase.

She did not speak anymore. She just walked towards Yvaine with her head bowed. She looked at the very back for a moment and saw Wynce, Bax and Vynx sitting there.

Wynce was currently bending down to fix his shoes, Bax was on his cell phone while Vynx was just leaning on the back of the chair and looking at her with his arms crossed over his chest.

She immediately looked away due to embarassment. Even though she wanted to thank him for carrying her suitcase earlier, her shame still dominated her. Because she punched him and even cracked his lip. Before she reached their place, the car started.

"Is everything okay there?" Mamo asked.

"Just wait," she answered but the car shook so that she fell into the back of the seat where Nivo was sitting.

"Just a moment, Dude!" Nivo shouted at Colthen and looked ahead while helping her to stand properly. "Chaleigh isn't sitting down yet!"

"You're too slow Chaleigh," Mamo commented and knew that she turned to him even though she couldn't see him because he was facing the back. "Why are you bent over? It's hard for you to walk there," he commented to her as she was now walking to sit on the seat that was for her.

"My head might bumpy because of top Mamo," she reasoned and even glanced at the roof of the Van.

"Why do I feel like you're assuming in that case?" It was silly and their companions laughed.

"That's terrible!" she complained with a frown and looked at him slightly. "Yes! I'm small, but I'm not that dwarf!" she defended and sat next to Yvaine in annoyance.

"Sit down. Let's go Colthen," Mamo immediately ordered. The revolution of the car immediately became aggressive and it took off after a while.

"Woh! Babye house and wait for us, Mt. Enigma!" Vyze shouted excitedly while waving up the opened lipstick.
