Chapter 6

"My twin brother likes you, you just don't notice it, Chaleigh!" She heard what Vyze told her over and over again. It couldn't get it out of her mind even though she pretended she hadn't heard it before. What if it's true? What will she do? This is the question she asked herself.

There is nothing wrong if Vynx likes her or even if she likes him too. He's good and almost don't know how to commit a sin.

The only problem is that she is afraid; fear of being left behind, fear of being hurt. She once liked a man and she thought that man liked her too. But she was wrong, it turns out it's all prank. She didn't want that thing to happen again.

She didn't even have a boyfriend but she has experienced being hurt. Maybe it's better to just ignore whatever Vyze said to her earlier. "Right," she whispered to herself.

"Yes, Miss! That's right." Her sanity returned to the present when the woman in uniform similar to the seafarers in front of her suddenly spoke. "This is mine," she said as she made her understand that she was holding half of the ticket she had given to her earlier.

She was also confused as to which of the papers she was holding. "And this is yours," she added, handing the other half to her. She only grimaced when she noticed that she was in line to board their ship. She was thinking so much about what Vyze said that she almost didn't realize what she was doing—floating in the cloud.

She took the torn ticket that the woman was handing her. "Alright Ma'am, you can go out and just follow the road." The lady ushered her palm of the ship's direction.

She seemed to realize that she was not herself so that's how she spoke to her. "Then, when you get there at the end, give half of your ticket to the guard there. Just split it so you're better prepared," she instructed and she gave a nod.

She passed the woman then looked at her ticket again. She didn't realize that it was divided into three and would just divide it. And now she understood everything  because earlier she was almost not on herself.

"Hey, Chaleigh!" her companions shouted almost simultaneously. When she looked at them, her eyes narrowed due to the bright sunlight hitting her sight. It was already noon and she was feeling hungry.

She blocked the light on her forehead with her palm to protect her eyes and looked at them again.

Her heart beats erratically when she saw Vynx approaching her. But behind him, her companions were almost there. She turned out to be the last one.

"Let me to carry the bag," he said gently as he took the bag that was clung at her back. She didn't say anything and just let him to remove the bag from her.

Vynx wear the back pack and walked ahead of her. A smile curved on her lips for some inexplicable reason. She just took it back as soon as she noticed it and just nodded and then stepped to follow him.

"What's going on with you and you seemed out of yourself ?" Mamo immediately asked her, scolding. She didn't say anything and just stared humbly. "You go first, I'll be next because you might get lost," Mamo added and that's when he frowned.

She lost her buoyancy when she was currently standing at the entrance of the ship. She was amazed at its size and thought about the Titanic Movie.

She thought that she could do the same thing that the woman did there who was standing on the terrace of the ship and meeting the wind.

They got inside and were just going up the stairs. It was too straight and she wasn't used to step up that kind of stairs.

Especially when there are so many passengers crowding up. She was just behind Vynx and even though she wanted to ask him for help to go up but she's still ashamed.

It seems that she suddenly changed her treat about him. If she used to like to woo him before but, now she can't. But should she show herself to him ashamed? What if he notices and thinks that she also likes him?

"Alright, go up," Mamo said pushing her and she almost fell down. Vynx who was ahead of her didn't even look back.

She sighed and then stepped up. She had a really hard time going up, especially when she went up and then the stairs is too straight.

She managed to close her eyes so as not to feel dizzy but what she did was wrong. Because of her closing her eyes, her foot slipped on the step and now she fell.

Most of them screamed, Mamo almost fell when she was hit him by her butt. She stuttered even more because her leg hit the iron rung of the stairs. Now that she was writhing in pain from her bump.

"What happened Chaleigh? Take it easy there!" Mamo was still annoyed but she held onto her leg that was burning with pain.

"Damn it, Mamo! I don't think I can stand up!" she screamed and cried in pain.

"What happened to you, Sis?" Yvaine was also just behind Mamo and peeked at her.

"She Stumbled." Mamo answered. "I don't think she can stand anymore," he added trying to support her to stand.

"Ouch!" she cried. She could hardly use force on her leg due to the pain she felt. Whoever's leg might hit the iron will also be close to the pain. "The pain! I can't cope with it! Mamo!"

"Why aren't you careful?" He scolded at her then looked up. "Boys!" He calls to their fellow men. "Help here, She can't stand," he ordered and pointed at her.

"Let me." She stunned when she heard Vynx's voice. In less than a minute, she felt his hand touched her.

People automatically moved aside. The others stopped below to give them space. When the area they were in was empty, he lift her like a bridal style.

She just gasped when his strong breathing hit her cheek due to giving strength. Her chest pounded because of their situation. Especially when she looked down, she was even more scared even though she noticed that Yvaine and Vyze were grinning at her.

She tightened her grip on Vynx's neck and closed her eyes. "Oh my god? The height," she grumbled but Vynx ignored her.

Vynx started to walk up stairs and she didn't open her eyes. After a while she felt that he was taking her down and panting.

It just means that they have reached at the top and that's when she opened her eyes. Their three companions appeared in her sight; Bax, Colthen and Wynce.

"Can she walk? Her leg had a bruised, Dude," Bax commented, looking at her leg. She noticed the exhalation of Vynx who was next to her. It was obvious that he get tired from carrying her.

"Cold water is the perfect solution of that," Colthen said. "What happened to you? Are you hungry?" He asked. The truth is that she is really hungry.

"Come on, come on." Suddenly, Mamo appeared and was still fanning himself. "Take care of her because she might fall off the ship later," he ordered the men while pointing at her. He looked at where they were going, it was close to the terrace—on the other side, and the sea was below it. Mamo looked at her. "We'll wait for you inside," he said then went first.

"Are you okay?" Vyze asked her while looking at her leg. The pain she felt has subsided but she knows it will hurt more when she steps. "Let's heal that later inside."

"Let's go guys," Bax, then stepped forward.

"Hey!" Vyze poked to her twin. He turned around with raised eyebrows. "Help her," she ordered pointing at her. Vynx frowned even more. "Oh? I said, help Chaleigh!" Vyze ordered again in an even louder way of speaking. Vynx glared at her, it lasted for about three seconds and left without saying goodbye.

Vyze gapped as she pointed at her twin brother walking away. "And—hey!" She shouted calling him. "Help Chaleigh! It's hard for her to walk!" Vyze insisted but  Vynx didn't turn around, he just raised his middle finger at Vyze. Because of that, Vyze threw a tantrum out of annoyance. "Rude!I wished you would have fallen into the sea—ouch!" She held on her elbow after being pinched by Yvaine.

"Why are you seemed like you orders, that's like you pay him!" she reprimanded and Vyze snorted. "That's why you two are always fighting," she added and then tormented her friend.

"I'm sorry. I don't know how to ask for help nicely," she admitted.

"Oh, now? Who's going to lift up Chaleigh?" Yvaine looked at Colthen. "How about you?" she ordered but not in a good tone also. Colthen just let out his tongue at Yvaine and then left like Vynx.

"Wow—"

"I'll volunteer," Wynce suddenly suggested because Yvaine didn't stop whining. "Come on Chaleigh. Let's do the piggy back ride," he said and sat in front of her but turned back.

The three of them still looked at each other but Wynce patted his shoulder as a signal that he was ready to carry her.  "Let's go!"

"Gosh, it's embarrassing," she said covering her mouth.

"Don't be shy, get on at his back," Yvaine urged her. After all, it was just Wynce so she didn't hesitate anymore. She slowly came a little closer and rode on his back.

The ship was not that big as other that they expected to have beds. So when they went inside, all they saw was a couch. They immediately saw Mamo at the end waving at them.

Nivo and Zaliyah were also there and were watching their approach. He looked around and looked for Vynx but she didn't see him. Her mind immediately asked where he could be.

Wynce put her down and she sat next to Mamo. Mamo also immediately checked the bruise on her leg. Yvaine also took action to treat it with cold ice.

Nivo asked what happened, because they were ahead of them and their gay manager the ones who tell a story. After putting ice on her right leg, they decided to eat.

Vynx also came in and kept up—he was from outside. Maybe he just venting. What else can be expected from him but being quiet especially when it comes to food.

About an hour passed before the ship left. The pain in her leg has subsided and she is able to walk. When they were in the middle of the afternoon—three o'clock in the afternoon, she thought of going out to observe the ocean.

She now walked freely even though there is a little pain. As she exited the small door, she saw Vynx. He was still wearing a hoodie jacket and was walking towards the end where there was a way to the tapered terrace of the ship.

She just wants to say thank you and maybe this is the time she needs to cheer up.

She followed him to the end. She quickened her pace until she caught up with him. She was one meter away from him when she noticed him retreating. The way he retreated felt like something was scared but chose to calm down.

"Why are you holding a knife?" she heard Vynx asking to the person in front of him who was covered by the wall which caused her chest to pound.
