5 – His Title

Several days passed, Matt entered the only completed building in the area, and he gasped hard. "Bwoah!"

There's lots of musical equipment and some other devices in that place. Because Matt was too busy, he didn't check them beforehand.

"I thank you for letting me build this impressive studio." Elmar, the musical elf, came to that young man. "With all this, I can make some music…. Ah, I just made a sample for the opening theme of our show. Do you want to hear it?"

"Maybe later. I'm still busy." Matt still looked around the large room, wondering if his organization needed all those tools. Even so, the young man didn't blame Megumi for not knowing anything about this. But it seems he needs to control the expenses more.

There must have been a lot of funds spent on this place.

"I noticed eye bags have appeared on your face. It looks like you need to rest, Boss." Elmar commented, then glanced at the papers in that young man's hands. "Is that the data of our fighters?"

"Ah yeah." Matt handed over those things to his music director. "Here is some brief profile of them, and hopefully, with these, you can make some suitable theme song."

Elmar checked the papers with a nod. "Interesting choices, Boss. Alright, I'll come up with some nice themes for them. But maybe I should interview them and also recruit some singers."

"Well, I hope you don't need too much extra." Matt cleared his throat. "Because…. Our budgets…."

"Ah, I also want to make some kind of trailer or vignette for our show, sir." The music director was still checking the papers, apparently not hearing his Boss. "I've asked Miss Megumi. There's some kind of television network for gods and their workers. We can get their attention with advertisements."

"That's a great idea….." Matt was already excited, but a second later, his enthusiasm disappeared. "Making something like that costs a lot of money, right?"

Megumi suggested using only flyers and sending them to the target audience. But Matt still doesn't know who their product is intended for.

He built all of this over because of his desire, after all.

So, building a big hype might be more effective. Their products will become a topic of conversation, and people will want to check them out.

"I can do some video editing and directing." Finally, Elmar put the papers down. "I'm not just a musician, you know?"

Matt tapped the elf on the shoulder. "Let's discuss it now. Do you have any idea what our advertisement will look like?"

Elmar's brow furrowed. "Why do you look like you want to cry, sir?"

The other four staff members played some football near the campsite where they lived. They stifled laughter when Lognar fell because he failed to kick the ball with his short legs.

Matt wants to join them, but he still has a lot of work to do. It's different from the management sim game, which has simplified some elements. Meanwhile, he had to think about various things here.

Marketing, for example. Matt discussed many things with Elmar, from the vibe of the advertisement to where they would distribute it. In the game, all he has to do is allocate a budget and press the yes button to promote his organization.

"Excuse me." Upon entering a tent, Matt found Megumi on a work chair, massaging her forehead. "Tough day, huh?"

The assistant lifted her head and stood up. "Sorry, I was so immersed in my work that I didn't notice your arrival."

"It's okay. Please sit back." Matt took a seat in front of Megumi's desk. "I just want to talk about marketing, and it looks like it will cost us a lot."

Megumi grimaced. "I understand that you want to build this organization to be as good as possible, but I must remind you that our funds are limited. At our current pace, we will run out of money in no time."

Matt receives a financial notebook from Megumi and studies it. Outside of fighter recruitment budgets, they spent a lot of money building various facilities. They will only have a little money left, barely covering their daily expenses.

In the game, Matt can be bold enough to spend so much money from the start. If you fail in the game, you just have to start a new one.

But he wouldn't have a second chance here. Bankrupt, and it's all over.

"We will cut some parts of the stadium that are not crucial, like the big logo." Matt made notes in the book. "Maybe we will also cut off the luxury settlements for fighters."

"But you want them to feel comfortable, so they can focus more on fighting."

"I have an idea, and I think it will motivate them more." Matt tapped his pen against his forehead. "And it looks like I'll be canceling my mansion. I'll just continue to live in the tent for the time being."

Matt was not born into a wealthy family, so he considered using some funds for his enjoyment.

Megumi smiled upon hearing that. "You are very wise, sir. But isn't that too much?"

"I will do anything as long as this organization is successful." The young man made another note. "I would sleep on the ground if it would increase our ratings."

He remembered one thing. Throughout his life, he heard his father's complaints. That old man always felt oppressed at work. His salary was meager, but his workload was inhumane. Meanwhile, company officials live in luxury and only know how to blame their subordinates.

Matt didn't want to be that kind of leader.

The assistant continued. "Then, I will also live in the tent…."

"No, you and the other staff will get proper housing." Matt interrupted that woman. "With a good place to live, I'm sure you guys will be able to focus more on work."

The assistant's smile widened. "But you look exhausted. Maybe you better rest…. Or you can play football with others to refresh your mind, Mr. President."

The young man stopped writing. His eyebrows knit together. "President? Is that my title here?"

Megumi nodded.
