“My experience in the kidnappers’ den was hell, but your image in my heart kept me strong. Darling, I love you with all my heart,” Lucas said to Norah, his hands gently resting on her stomach. “I know this will be a baby girl,” he added with a smile.

“Whatever gender it is, it’s okay by me,” Norah replied, her eyes filled with love.

Three months later, Xavier returned home to find Evelyn waiting for him. “I should pretend I don’t know where you’ve been spending so much time,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

“It was just a business meeting,” Xavier replied, trying to sound convincing.

Evelyn’s eyes narrowed. “A business meeting that took you three days? Do you think I’m a fool, Xavier?”
