Mason wiped the blood from his mouth as he stood on his feet with anger coursing through his veins. He looked around the balcony and noticed a little crowd had began to form, clearly waiting for what was to happen next.

The blue screen still towered above him, reminding him of the quest he had just received. Mason stared at the last message and felt his pulse quicken. Was he really going to lose the system if he lost the fight? Or was the system just playing pranks on him? He wondered but couldn't wait to gather his thoughts as a punch to the face send him flying backwards until he hit his back on the wall.

"What the fuck are you staring at?" Drake slurred as he raced towards him and threw another punch at his face but this time around Mason was quick to dodge, allowing the punch to hit the wall.

"How about that you prick?" Mason yelled while giving him the middle finger which only seemed to infuriate Drake the more. Without warning, Drake charged at Mason, his massive frame barreling forward like a freight train. Mason tried to dodge but Drake was too quick. He grabbed Mason and lifted him off the ground, spinning him around before hurling him towards the classroom door.

Mason crashed through the door, splintering wood and sending shards flying everywhere. He landed hard on the floor, dazed and oriented. And as he struggled to his feet, he saw his classmates cheering and chanting Drake's name.

"How do I defeat him?" Mason thought, his mind racing. "He's stronger than me, and if he senses he's losing, he'll use his wind ability. How do I fight against that?"

Mason's eyes scanned the room, desperate for an advantage. And that's when he spotted the open window behind him. A sly grin spread across his face as a plan formed in his mind.

"Hey, you prick!" Mason yelled, facing Drake. "Why the hell do you fight like a girl? my little sister can do better than that."

Drake's eyes narrowed, his face reddening with rage. "You think you can take me down, Mason?" he sneered, cracking his knuckles.

Mason just smiled, his eyes glinting with a fierce determination. "We'll see about that."

Immediately he said those words, they both charged at each other with Drake throwing a powerful punch at Mason, but this time around Mason was quick to dodge with ease before landing a swift counterpunch on Drake's face. Drake's eyes widened in anger, and he snarled, baring his teeth.

With a fierce cry, Drake unleashed his wind ability, summoning a gust that sent Mason flying across the room, towards the open window. Mason struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from his face with the back of his hand.

"Even your ability is as weak as a girl's." Mason taunted, his eyes glinting with defiance.

Drake's face turned beet red with rage. He charged at Mason, his fists clenched, but Mason just smiled as he dodged to the side at the last moment. And with a swift motion, he connected a solid punch to the back of Drake's head, sending him crashing through the window.

The classroom was on the second floor, and Drake's body plummeted downwards, landing with a sickening thud on the hard ground below. He lay there, motionless, knocked out cold.

The classroom erupted into chaos, with students screaming and rushing to the window to see the aftermath. Mason stood tall, his chest heaving with exertion, his eyes blazing with triumph.

The classroom fell silent as the students turned back to Mason, their faces filled with a mix of shock, awe, and fear.

As Mason stood there, staring at the broken window, he heard a familiar ding sound and the next moment, a few messages popped up before his eyes.

[Quest Completed]

[Defeat the opponent who is one level above you]

[50 Exp obtained]

[First time defeating a neohuman, another 50 Exp obtained]

[You have leveled up]

[2 stats points obtained]

[Additional quest completed - Becoming stronger]

[You have acquired the skill, The Golden Eye]

Mason felt dizzy as the messages popped up before his eyes. But he quickly composed himself when he noticed he had been staring at the screen for minutes now while everyone else in the class wondered what he was staring at.

He took a deep breath and cleared his throat before speaking boldly, "I'm not afraid of anyone of you. If anyone of you try to bully me then I will fight back with everything I've got." Mason said and was about to walk out when he stopped and looked over his shoulder. "And it'd be wise to take him to the infirmary on time before it's too late."

And with that, Mason walked out of the classroom, leaving behind a trail of stunned students and a defeated Drake.

Few Hours Later

Mason could be seen walking down Beverly town as he headed back towards the orphanage with his bag behind him. It has been hours since his battle with Drake and now everywhere in Avalon was filled with gossips about him.

There were rumours that he defeated Drake with just one single punch while others said he lifted Drake with one arm and then threw him through the window to fall to his death. But in the end, Mason choose to ignore them as his only focus was the system now.

Immediately he thought the word system in his head, the blue screen appeared before his eyes with information about him.

[User - Mason Blackwood]

[Race - Human]

[Class - ?]

[Level - 2]

[Hp - 20]

[Exp - 50/200]

[Strength - 7]

[Agility - 7]

[Stamina - 7]

[Intelligence - 5]

[Perception - 5]

[Normal Humans have stats of 5]

[Stat points available - 2]

Mason went through the system and noticed a few things had changed about them. First, he was now a level 2 and his Hp has increased by 5 making it a total of 20. Another thing he noticed was that the Exp bar had now doubled after he leveled up making it a total of two hundred. And it also seemed that completing quest gave him exp points and he needed to gather up to two hundred exp points before he could level up again.

Mason sighed as he scrolled through the screen to noticed that he had two extra stat points available. He remembered getting a message about tham after he leveled up.

"But how do I use them?" Mason thought in his head and gasped as a few messages popped up before him.

[You have two stat points available]

[You can distribute them to any stat of your choice]

[Would you like to distribute them now?]

"Would I like to distribute them now? Of course I would like to distribute them now!" Mason yelled in his head as he thought of which stat to distribute the points to.

"Increasing my stamina will be a waste right now. What's the point of having stamina if I can't defeat my opponent? Increasing my agility will be a good idea since it will serve as a good escape option but I don't want that right now. Increasing my intelligence and perception is also waste too. The thing I need right now is the strength to crush my opponent so it be better to increase the strength stat."

Mason thought in his head as he finally decided to increase the strength stat. Immediately he did, he felt a sizzling chill rush through his veins and body. After a while it stopped and Mason could feel that his body had gotten a little bit stronger.

He immediately went to the status screen and noticed his strength had indeed increased.

[User - Mason Blackwood]

[Race - Human]

[Class - ?]

[Level - 2]

[Hp - 20]

[Exp - 50/200]

[Strength - 9]

[Agility - 7]

[Stamina - 7]

[Intelligence - 5]

[Perception - 5]

[Normal Humans have stats of 5]

[Stat points available - 0]

As Mason stared at the screen, his eyes spotted the skill tab and he immediately remembered that he had gotten a skill after defeating Drake.

Immediately, he went to the skill tab and noticed he indeed had unlocked a new skill.

[Active Skill - The Golden Eye]

[Level 1]

[Information: The third eye of the Archdemon Asmodeus. With the eye, you're able to pierced through any illusion and gain knowledge of any being or object.]

[No mana points required]

[Cool down - none]

As Mason read through the information, he wondered what kind of skill it was and immediately tried using it on someone who was walking forward towards him.

[Name - Charlie Fox]

[Race- Human]

[Ability - stone skin]

[Level: 2.5]

[Information: Able to cover any part of the skin with a stone structure and hardened that part]

"Hell fucking no I can't believe this!" Mason yelled in his head as he read the information. He couldn't believe it, although the skill was not an offensive or defensive one, it was indeed a powerful skill and he couldn't wait to see what skills he would gain in the future.

As Mason continued walking down Beverly town with the screen towering above him, Mason knew for sure that the system was real and perhaps his only chance at getting stronger. And maybe one day, when he gotten really strong, the system would grant him his wish of fighting against the dragon bloods while protecting his home.

It wasn't a secret to them that Mason got bullied at school a lot, and because of that he usually got home late, bruised and weak from the fight. But today was different because he had not only gotten home three hours early than he normally did but was also looking sharp and clean. Even his school uniform was in the right places instead of being torn like they normally did. "Hey, you got home early today? Did you escape fighting today?" Sabrina mocked from where she sat while Mrs Harper just watched. "Funny you should say that because I actually got into a fight today and won." Mason replied and Sabrina just broke down laughing. "Anything funny?" He asked but she just kept laughing. "I told you Mason, the day you win a fight is the day I will crawl through Beverly to

Mr Gibson replied with a smile as he dropped the history textbook on the table while moving to the front of the table."Today is going to be different everyone because we are not going to talk about the history of earth like we normally do in our classes but about the history of the dragon bloods, their weakness, strength and how they can be

He came from the Fae family and lived on the eastern side of Beverly town after having transferred from his old school two months ago. And now he was just trying to settle in. "We are here!" Caleb announced as they came across a huge mansion that was surrounded by peach trees and overlooked a small garden. Mason turned to look at the mansion and the moment his eyes landed on them, he couldn't help but keep them widely opened. "No fucking way! You live here?" He beamed as he stared at the huge mansion before him. "Yes I do. That's my home." Caleb replied with a smile as he kept staring at Mason who was at a lost for words. "But why the reaction bro? Mason opened his eyes and blinked away the black spots covering them. His head was humming and it was few seconds before his vision focus and he could see where he was.He was in his room back at the orphanage with his back laying on the bed. He could easily tell it was his room because of the ceilings and the big, fat poster of the black winter Soldier that hung on his wall. He was his favorite one among the neohumans and Mason had gotten it from the store after saving a lot of money to get it.'But how did I get here?" Mason pondered as he continued staring at the ceilings. The last thing he remembered was him fighting against the mutated razor wolf before strangling it to death. And then he had slumped down on the ground along with it as he awaited his fate. Yes, he was slashed several times by the beast and had felt he was going to die. So how had he managed to survived?Mason continued to ponder as he ran his hands towards the spot he had been slashed only to noticed that it was

"I mean I am, but after seeing you fight with so many different abilities all at once, I already guessed that you were an original. I mean how else would you explain that?" Mason explained and Jasper nodded with knowing. He was right, anyone would have come to that conclusion after seeing what he did that night. It's not as if there was any ability user out there in the world who could use multiple abilities all at once."Well, like I said. I'm an original and I come from the Vaughn family that resides in a place unknown to the public. My family is one of the five big original families and our ability is well... You've seen it already. Is that suppose to be your best plan or what?""Yeah. I mean think about it Mason, what better way to deal with the bad factions than to take matters into our own hands since no one else seems to be helping. With a faction of our own, we could slowly take out the weak ones, stop the robbing and as time goes on and we grow, we could then take out the stronger factions and spread words within and outside of Beverly town of our faction so we can stop other neohumans from ever coming here to do shady things. Mr. Freyborn stood at the edge of his balcony, gazing up at the stars in the night sky as the sound of passing vehicles hummed through the streets. It was 8 pm now - an hour since Maya had left for Cole City, headed to her aunt's place in search of answers. And as Mr. Freyborn stood there, gazing up at the stars, he wished she'd find the answers she sought."Please, Martha—please watch over our little girl," Mr. Freyborn whispered under his breath, gazing up at the stars as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He knew exactly what Maya was and the kind of answers she'd find where she was headed. He had prayed every single day of his life that this day would never come, and that she'd never awaken to her true nature. His wife had done all she could to shield Maya from this life, allowing her to live a normal life, but it appeared fate had other plans. He could only wish now that the heavens would watch over his daughter and protect her from all harm. As her journey from here on out was

Warmth spread through her body, all the way down her chest, and a few seconds later, her headache disappeared, as if it was never there."What is it?" Maya asked, returning the cup. The tea tasted different from any other tea she'd had. It was sour and bitter, but worked like magic. And she could feel her body buzzing with energy."It's Namal tea, a specialty of your grandma's," Mr. Freyborn replied. "Your mom taught me how to make it several years ago."Maya smiled at the mention of her mom's name. Ever since they'd lost her, her dad rarely spoke about her, leaving Maya wondering if he still hadn't gotten over her death. But after all these years, she was happy he was finally talking about her."I miss her too, Dad," Maya said, staring at her mom's portrait beside her b

I had a dream, Mason, and in that dream, I saw you and Jasper die," Maya said with fear in her voice and Mason could swear he could smell it on her body."Like you said, Maya, it's just a dream," Mason said, and Jasper nodded from where he sat."He's right, Maya, it's just a dream. He got up almost immediately, wiping the blood that was dripping from his nose and trying to run up to her, but Jasper held him back just before he could go any further."What do you think you're doing? Can't you see she needs our help?" "Of course, I see that, Mason, but just take a look at her. That black smoke around her seems to be protecting her, and something tells me it doesn't want us to be here," Jasper said, pointing towards the black smoke hovering around Maya's body. • Was she really becoming a witch?

Maya paced down the living room, looking worried and concerned. Her head was humming, and she couldn't help thinking about the dream she had in the middle of the night. In fact, she'd been thinking about it all day long, barely getting any sleep. Why had she dreamed about Elvis Malcolm all of a sudden? And more importantly, why had she woken up to find herself floating over her bed? Was she really becoming a witch like she suspected? And was this a premonition like the book said it was? Maya sighed, running her fingers through her hair. Were witches even real to begin with? And if yes, then what were they? All she knew was that they were capable of casting spells and doing magic out of thin air. The powerful ones amongst them could conjure lightning and manipulate the weather, but these were just things her Grandma had told her as a story. What were the chances that any of them were even true? Maya wondered as she settled on a couch. But even at that, she still couldn't completely
