The Mission

Chapter 2

"What!? That's suicide!!" Lewis said, almost screaming. Everybody present in the hall thought the same. First of all, dragons are very protective of their offspring, and they wouldn't mind killing a few humans to protect their children.

Kane kept his cool, but even he was having an inner dilemma as well. With a smug expression on his face, he said, "We can handle the mission, but I don't think a certain person can," Kane said, tilting his head towards Ethan with a smirk.

"Well, since he's a member of the royal family and our little brother, we would protect him."

If an outsider hears this, they will think Kane is a loving and caring brother, but Ethan knew what he meant. He simply meant because no one will come to your aid, I'd kick your a$$ in the forest.

After the mission briefing, they were led into a circular-looking airship, an airship that was empowered with beast crystals. It simply floats in the air, so it does not need many mechanisms.

The Dragon Empire had amounted to technological advancement similar to that of the human planet, so they were very advanced.

The airship slowly rose. One could see the massive dragon castle from the airship that was built on top of a blazing volcano that looked like it would erupt at any time, but it was just for show since it had been like this for centuries now.

Since the castle was built on top of a volcano that was in the middle of a vast blue ocean, the ship had to move like a lightning bolt across the ocean at a relatively fast pace.

Ethan sat at the extreme of the ship, glancing through the window. After flying for about an hour, they finally saw a city.

The city was surrounded by sturdy brown walls, and all the buildings within it were made of sturdy concrete material, and red roofs were etched on top of each building. In the middle stood a smaller castle compared to the huge, Dragon Royal Castle.

One noticeable feature of this location was how hot the atmosphere felt, but this was understandable given their flame abilities and draconic nature; it was also the reason they preferred the concrete structure over the now popular metal structures. From a bird's-eye view, the city looked like it was planned, with all the buildings having red roofs.

When they entered the city atmosphere, a huge black dragon could be seen flying around the entire city while spitting flames in the air. The dragon had patrolled the city nonstop since its creation.

This type of dragon is common in all of the 10 cities that are under the Dragon Royal family, and they are called the "guardian spirit."

Each city under the Dragon Royal Family has a greater ranked dragon as their city lord, who is in charge of the day-to-day running of the city, and they make monthly reports to the Dragon Royal Family.

After flying past the huge city, the airship stopped at a barren patch of land, and a large portal could be seen suspended in the air. Several floating airships, identical to theirs, were situated near the portal.

Several Draconian soldiers, all of them in matching red beast armor, stood on different ships. Their duty was to safeguard the portal, and they were all strong in either the dragon knight or noble rank, with their commander being in the colossal rank.

After a few exchanges of words with Aldric, they were allowed to proceed. The ship went through the portal, and it swallowed the entire airship completely.

The dragon portal led to different planets, even the human planet. Unlike the humans, who have zero knowledge of the Draconian race, they were fully aware of them and even had a few spies there.

After passing through the portal, they were greeted with a beautiful scene: a forest with numerous lush trees that seemed to be suspended in mid-air.

The four princes were astonished by the forest's beauty. They had read a lot about this place but had never seen it in real life.

Aldric cleared his throat to get the prince's attention.

"You would be on your own. The mission would be over in 3 days, so for now, I will be returning to the palace. "

With another glance towards Ethan, he passed through the portal.

Immediately, he was out of sight. They all turned to face Ethan. Kane could be seen smirking. Liam could be seen cracking his knuckles. "Hahaha, who do we have here? the royal family's biggest scumbag?" Lewis mocked with a wide smile.

Seeing the situation, Ethan tried to run away, but it was too late as Liam already held him.

"Where do you think you're going to?"

Ethan was scared, shirtless. He was expecting this type of scenario but never expected it to happen so soon.

"Don't do this, brothers." Ethan tried to reason with them.

"Shut up! We are not your brothers. " Kane kicked Ethan in the stomach, making him puke blood. Liam clenched his fist with a bit of flame before delivering a 4x combo to the same stomach again, sending him crashing to the ground.

"Hahaha! Don't forget me! " Lewis laughed like a maniac before he used his foot to slam Ethan's chest, causing Ethan to jerk up and fall back again.

After beating him for some hours, they slowly broke his fingers, one after another. The pain was so great that Ethan couldn't even scream.

"If I made it here alive, I would rain hell on all of you," Ethan thought as he gritted his teeth, enduring the pain.

After some hours of torturing, they finally got bored, so they slowly dragged him closer to the edge of the forest.

Beneath the giant floating piece of land, nothing could be seen, only clouds.

Kane tightly held Ethan's throat and raised him. Ethan clutched his throat, trying to breathe.

Since Kane has a huge physique, it was pretty easy to lift Ethan without much difficulty.

"Brother, please don't do this. You will be punished," Ethan cried out.

"Who said I would get punished? We will simply say you got devoured by a dragon beast. "

The smirk on Kane's face was now very profound.

"I think this is the last time I will see your face." With that, he threw him off the cliff.
