Chapter Eighty-seven

Andrew had always been a man of connections and influence. He was known to pull strings that others couldn’t even see, and that’s exactly what he intended to do for Michael. Michael had been entangled in a web of accusations, and for him to be able to get the Adams family’s help in bringing Charles down, it was his mission to set him free.

The courtroom was abuzz with tension as the judge called the hearing to order. Michael stood there, a hint of nervousness in his eyes, flanked by his anxious family. Emma was there, holding onto their mother’s trembling hand. Mary tried to hide her tears, while uncle Arnold stood expressionlessly in support.

As the proceedings began, the prosecutor painted a dark picture, accusing Michael of numerous crimes he knew he had committed. The evidences were there, and the jury seemed to lean towards conviction. Emma couldn’t bear to watch her brother’s life slipping away before her eyes.
