Chapter Fourteen

Three days had passed since Charles' visit to his mother's place in the metropolis. Seated on the coffee table, he found himself deep in thought, his mind a whirlwind of emotions. His uncle's mysterious reasons for keeping his existence hidden until his passing, coupled with the astonishing news of inheriting all his wealth and properties, finally started making sense to him. Charles was slowly grasping the responsibilities left to him, even though the weight of them felt heavy on his shoulders.
