Andrew Garner settled into the leather chair in his luxurious mansion located on the hillside. The room, decorated with rich mahogany and gold materials, echoed his wealth and power. His fingers traced the smooth surface of the glass tumbler as he poured himself a generous measure of old whiskey. The golden liquid shone, reflecting the dim light in the room.

The news sounded and displayed from the massive flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. The atmosphere was charged with tension as the reporter’s voice announced, “In a shocking turn of events, the Adams family, once pillars of the city, has been arrested on charges of several financial crimes and other terrible crimes like kidnapping and attempted murder.”

Andrew’s sharp gaze fixed on the screen, his frown deepening with every word. The Adams family, once close allies, had now become the center of a scandal that threatened to tarnish Andrew’s reputation by association.

The whiskey burned its way down his throat as he clenched his jaw.
