Chapter Hundred and four

Charles and Norah walked hand in hand through the entrance of their mansion, the weight of their recent victory against the notorious Adams family lifting from their shoulders. A cool breeze blew through the trees, and the rays of the setting sun painted the sky with a beautiful pattern.

Inside, the mansion gave out an air of luxury and calm, which Charles felt he could never really get used to. He led Norah to the living room, where the crackling fireplace was lit. They settled into chairs, enjoying the new feeling of their success.

“I never thought we’d be able to bring down the Adams family, but you did it, Charles.” Norah remarked, his eyes reflecting both pride and relief.

Charles smiled, his gaze fixed on the flames. “Yes, It was a team effort. I’m grateful to have you by my side always.”

“I am thankful too to always be by your side, my love.” Norah said, leaning in to kiss him.
