Damien, the only male healer apprentice, tried to focus on sorting herbs, but the giggles laugh kept breaking his concentration. His cheeks turned pink as he heard footsteps coming closer. “Oh, Healer Damien!” Stella called out , batting her eyes. “I have this terrible pain right here.” She pointed to her Left breast, tugging at her collar so slightly and it made some part of her breast exposed for Damien to see. “I can go fetch some other female Healer for you.” Damien stammered, his hands fumbling with the herbs he was counting. At that moment another apprentice, Alice, leaned against his work table. “But you're so much better at finding the sore spots, Damien,” she said with a sweet smile. “Your hands are gentler than the others.” Immediately the other girls nodded in agreement, surrounding Damian's table like butterflies drawn to honey. At that moment Damien wished the ground would swallow

Damien’s tone was still composed, but his words hit with precision like sharpened steel.his gaze sweeping the entire panel with contempt that couldn’t be missed.“You’ve kept quiet long enough,” he said, his voice low but firm. Then he pointed—straight at them.“All of you. You’ve destroyed innocent people long enough. And the worst part? You think you’re untouchable.”Some committee members shifted uneasily. One cleared his throat but said nothing.“You think the world revolves around you,” Damien continued. “You think you can twist laws, make up punishments that suit your egos—punish anyone you don’t like, simply because you can.”His words cut deeper than raised voices ever could.“And let’s talk about the so-called crime here. A product fell below standard. That happens. There are clear procedures for this kind of thing. You fine the company—between ten and fifty thousand dollars—standard penalty.”He paused deliberately, letting the weight of his words settle.“They’ve agreed to

The room fell into silence the moment Damien finished speaking.Across the long mahogany table, the chairman of the association slowly leaned back in his seat, his fingers drumming the surface with deliberate arrogance. Then his cold eyes scanned Damien like one would examine a speck of dirt on polished shoes. Then he scoffed.“Did I ask for your opinion?” His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension like a knife. “Who gave you the right to speak?”Immediately Uncle Bernard shifted in his seat but dared not utter a word. He had already spoken once today and had been embarrassed for it.However Damien didn’t flinch. He met the chairman’s gaze without blinking, his expression calm, unreadable. The chairman stood and walked slowly toward the center of the room, his presence commanding the attention of every single board member. “You know,” he continued, turning to address the room, “I was being generous.”He turned back to Damien, his lips curling into a smirk. “But from the look of

Not a single item leaves your factory floor. That is your initial probation period.”At that moment Damien’s was still remain calm, but he said nothing yet.“And after that,” the chairman added, flipping to another page, “you’ll enter what we call a life probation. For one year, you will be required to submit no fewer than fifty products—each subject to full regulatory scrutiny. But Uncle Bernard didn

At that moment Megan eyes pop.“No... please...” Megan’s voice quivered, her body slumping to the floor beside her mother’s. “I don’t want to die, Damien... please forgive me.” Her hands reached out weakly, trembling as her tears soaked the floor. “I swear... I didn’t mean for any of this... I was scared... I thought I was doing what’s best for us, it was my mom..”Damien stood silently, his expression unreadable. His eyes, cold and void of pity, studied her like a stranger.“Forgive you?” His voice was low—calm, yet carrying the weight of a thousand storms.“When you plotted behind my back? When you tried to destroy everything tied to me—my family name , our company, even my mother’s resting place...” Then he took a step forward, his shadow swallowing the slumped figure on the floor. “Did you think about consequences then? Did you think about me surviving any of it?”At that moment Megan opened her mouth to say something, but it was too late.Damien’s hand rose again—those fingers d

Seeing the document on Damien hands, Megan’s eyes locked on the paper Damien held. Her face froze, and for a brief moment, she forgot to breathe.Without being told she could tell that was it. That was the same document—down to the formatting, the margin spacing, even the signature line that had her initials on it. Her heart jumped to her throat. But instinct kicked in, she blinked fast and scoffed, forcing out a weak laugh. “This… this is fake,” she said, her voice sharper than intended. “Where did you even get this? Are you stalking me now, Damien? Are you hiding in corners, collecting lies?”She shot to her feet, trying to reclaim control of the room with sheer volume. “I didn’t send this! Anyone could have forged this! Where’s your proof that it was me?”However her hands were trembling at her sides, but she didn’t let them rise into view. Then her eyes darted between Damien and the document, trying to find an escape in denial.“I didn’t do this,” she repeated louder, voice crac

The warehouse was bitter cold. The kind that seeped into your bones and made your teeth chatter even if your heart was already pounding from fear. Megan’s hands were bound behind her back, a rough cloth tied tightly over her eyes. She couldn’t see anything—only hear the slow drip of water somewhere behind her and the constant whimper of her mother beside her.Her breath was shaky, but her voice tried to stay strong.“W-what is this place?” she muttered under her breath, her teeth clenched. “Who dares to do this to us?”However her mother, trembling, whispered back, “They’ll regret this. They don’t know who we are.”One minute, they were resting at home—then the next, a sudden rush of men stormed in. No warnings. No chance to scream. Everything had gone dark too quickly.Still blindfolded, Megan shifted, her voice rising now—no longer scared, but furious. “Do they know who we are?!”The sound of her own voice echoing in the empty warehouse only made her more unsettled, but she refused

The air shifted the moment he stepped into the room.Tall, rigid, and cloaked in a dark green uniform trimmed with silver insignias only a few in the country could recognize—he didn’t need to announce himself. His presence allow was the announcement. The steel in his eyes said everything: he wasn’t just mourning. He was hunting. The uniform belonged to a shadowed division within the military—elite, rarely seen, never acknowledged publicly. A unit whispered about among generals, where each soldier was forged through battle, secrecy, and silent bloodshed. Every man in that branch was a walking weapon. And he wasn’t just one of them—he was one of the best.At that moment London’s mother turned her tear-streaked face toward him. The flicker of hope in her eyes was faint, buried under the weight of grief. She didn’t say a word, just looked at him with trembling lips, as if expecting him to fix everything with a blink.Their father stiffened as he stepped closer to the casket. The room qui

Upon hearing what Master George just said, Serenity’s fingers tightened around the edge of the table as she held the phone to her ear. Her brows drew together, eyes narrowing like she had misheard. “Wait… what did you just say, Master George?”“I said Elvis’s medical license has been suspended,” George replied, his voice calm, as if what he just said was a minor detail. Then a sharp jolt shot through her chest. Suspended? Elvis? Her most trusted backup plan was no longer a card she could play? Her mind was racing. That wasn’t just a name. That was a key player—someone who could buy her time until Demian came around. “You suspended Elvis?” she repeated, slower, disbelief curling around every word.“Yes,” George confirmed without hesitation. “And not just his license. I’ve suspended him entirely as my subordinate.”At that moment Serenity’s heart dropped. she couldn't understand What was going on? “Why?” she asked, trying to steady her voice. “What did he do?”It was bad enough Demian

At that moment Serenity folded her arms on the table, her gaze direct and unyielding. “I didn’t call you here for pleasantries, Sir Bernard,” she said. “It’s about Damien.”Hearing what Serenity just said Bernard blinked, his expression shifting slightly with confusion. “Damien?”“Yes,” she nodded, not hesitating. “I need your help. I need you to talk to him. Convince him to treat my grandfather.”There was a brief pause, followed by a quiet chuckle of disbelief from Sir Bernard. “Treat… your grandfather?” His brows furrowed. “You mean, Damien?”“Yes,” Serenity said again, firmer this time. “I know it sounds strange, but I’ve confirmed it. Damien is the one. He’s the Miraculous Doctor’s apprentice.”That left Bernard stunned. He leaned back in his seat, eyes slightly widened as he tried to reconcile the boy he once knew with the weight of the title she just dropped. “That’s… that’s impossible.”“It’s not,” Serenity replied. “He’s the only one who can save my grandfather now. Please, I

Finally some story progession. Calm and agreessive is more interesting 4 MC. Now I just look forward to the long roast of serenity from her grandfather on what she did. If damien does not voice why he wants to cancel engagement with his grandpa that would be boring. i hope he list down all negatives
Blurry Mamba
calm all the time = full retard. at least he finally smiled. cant even imagine mc developing feelings for any romance to start on this story cause he is so emotionless that terminators would feel shamed. serinity is pissed with mc mainly because of his auto retard mode. its like talking to a wall
Blurry Mamba
something cool for once done on lastest update. im no masochist to frustrtion and insults to mc that does not fight back. i almost drop this book due to slow development and lame mc. being calm is good but it gets old fast and just turns lame after a while. hope mc stops being full retard all d time

one good example of authors is LiLhyz, stories are not too long and not too short and all have endings. each work has thousands of followers because readers have confidence on the author in not dragging it long but delivers good stories, thats how you make it big and succeed. you have the potential

247 rocking it. Thats what people want. This is fast paced and should be like this. Minimal shit dialogue and more action, less internal dialogue. The man has all the power. It does not make sense if he stays quiete all the time. I would prefer this to be minimum 1k chapters to be finished or2k most
Tim Dayawan
1 star only for this. at first it was good but after chapter 70ish its no longer fast paced. this is the first time i saw an author writing more than 10 chapters just to stop MC from doing his job to cure side char. worst is he keeps doing it even on side chars. dont read it waste of money and time!
Sylwyn
this is similar to a couple of other books I've read but has enough differences that it makes an interesting. I enjoy the main character Damian's personality and humility. the book is edited pretty good.

Tag as fast paced but story as slow as a snail. Chap 1 MC goes to cancel engagement after almst 300 chaps still havent done it. MC kills henchmen but does not when he faces the bosses even when he is humiliated to oblivion it does not make sense. This would go 7k minmum chaps milking stupid readers
Kolin Muller
So much bull crap on what characters are thinking that every chapter eats it more than 80% of each and every chapter. No one wants to know what they think its more of what each character say and does that matter. This is novel should be titled "The Understated Thoughts of Everyone Around Damien."
