Chapter Five

At that moment Jessica's lips curved into a mocking smile.

“Oh, this is rich.”

Her perfectly manicured nails tapped against the doorframe. “How much did it cost to rent the car and hire this... assistant?”

She said with a mockery tone.

However Damien did listen to her, he rose quietly from his seat, straightening his simple robes. “Uncle Bernard, thank you for your hospitality.”

“But Damien, we haven't even had tea—”

Uncle Bernard started.

Bernard at that moment just smiled.

“Some matters can't wait.”

He bowed respectfully.

“I'll visit again when time permits.”

immediately Jessica laughter followed him down the path.

“Did you really think we'd fall for such an obvious act? A village doctor with a Phantom Spirit Ultra?”

Damien didn't pause or turn back, simply nodding once to the driver as he stepped into the vehicle.

The car purred away, leaving Jessica and her mother standing in the doorway.

“Can you believe his nerves?”

Jessica turned to her mother, her voice dripping with disdain.

“Hiring actors and renting luxury cars just to impress us!”

Her mother's laugh tinkled.

“Such desperation! As if we wouldn't see right through it, he's as foolish as I thought.”

“That young man Damein,”

Uncle Bernard's quiet voice cut through their amusement.

“has never needed to pretend to be anything other than what he is.”

“Oh, Father,”

Jessica rolled her eyes.

“You're too trusting. He's clearly just a—”

“The Damien I know,”

Uncle Bernard continued firmly, “would rather walk than rent a car for show.”

Upon hearing what Sir Bernard just said.

Jessica and her mother exchanged knowing looks before dissolving into laughter again, their certainty in their own judgment leaving no room for doubt.

“The herbs are prepared.”

Dr. Kyle arranged his instruments on a silver tray, each movement precise and practiced.

“We should begin immediately.”

Sophia watched the steam rise from the medicinal decoction, her heart started pounding.

The treatment would save her grandfather's life, yes, but at what cost? he might be in coma, The memory of what Damien said to them still tugged at her thoughts.

“Wait.”

Her voice cracked slightly. “Please... just wait a moment.”

Upon hearing what Sophia just said Dr. Kyle hands stilled over his instruments.

“Miss Sophia,”

His tone carried decades of authority.

“Every minute we delay—”

Sophia didn't allow Dr. Kyle to finish his words when she interrupted him.

“I've called another doctor.”

immediately the room temperature seemed to drop several degrees.

Dr. Kyle straightened slowly, his distinguished features started darkening.

“Another doctor?”

“Sophia!”

Her father stepped forward, his face flushed with anxiety.

“What are you thinking? Dr. Kyle has cleared his entire schedule for us, and it took the grace of Young Master Landon to make this possible and you—”

“The clinic this morning,”

she rushed to explain, pulling out the card Damien gave to her.

And face her brother.

“Remember? The young doctor who knew Grandfather's symptoms just from a cough?”

“A village doctor?”

Her father's voice rose in disbelief. “You're risking Dr. Kyle treatment because of a low life village doctor —”

“He knew, grandfather problem.”

Sophia's fingers tightened around the card.

“He knew exactly when Grandfather's condition would worsen. The timing, the symptoms... everything happened exactly as he predicted. Everything.”

At that moment Sophia's father's fingers tightened on his armrest, uncertainty flickering across his face.

“The Legendary Master Raymond clinic, you say?”

At that moment Sophia's brother wouldn't keep calm.

“Father, she's being fooled! it was just a lucky guess, nothing more. This... village doctor probably sees dozens of similar cases.”

Dr. Kyle who has been trying to make sure the words didn't get to him, by measuring herbs with meticulous care.

However, hearing what Miss Sophia just said he suddenly looked up.

His eyes sparkled with poorly concealed excitement.

“Master Raymond himself? The legendary healer is coming?”

“No...”

Sophia's voice grew small.

“Just... just a young doctor from his clinic.”

They watched Dr. Kyle enthusiasm drain away like water.

His lips pressed into a thin line as he adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses.

“It's disrespectful to think a mere assistant can do better than me? Really, Miss Sophia, this is beneath me and it's an insult.”

At that moment the silence grew heavy as Dr. Kyle set down his measuring spoon with deliberate precision.

“I must be frank. Either I proceed now, or I leave. Choose.”

Upon hearing what Dr Kyle just said

Mr. Oliver's face paled. His eyes darted between his daughter and the renowned physician not wanting to take any chances he decided to agree.

“Dr. Kyle, please, begin the—”

At that moment a voice Interrupted them.

“Stop!.”

The quiet command cut through the room.

At that moment Damien in simple healer's robes stood in the doorway, his presence carrying an inexplicable weight.

“This treatment,”

he stated, his eyes fixed on the herbs, “will trap your grandfather in eternal sleep. He will never wake.”

Upon hearing what Damien just said Dr Kyle eyes turned deadly immediately, he couldn't believe a newbie would dare write off his method of treatment.

Dr. Chen's face flushed deep red. “You dare—!”

“Guards!”

Mr. Oliver said and pointed at Damien.

“Remove this imposter at once!”

“Father, no!”

Sophia rushed forward, placing herself between the guards and Damien.

“This is him – the doctor I told you about. The one who knew everything about Grandfather's condition from just a single cough.”

“Since you hold my master's exclusive card,”

Damien voice carried a quiet edge, “I will honor his promise, that is the reason I'm here”

Without another word, Damien stepped forward, removing an ancient jade flask from his robe. Without a word, he poured three drops of clear liquid into the air – but instead of falling, they hung suspended. His fingers moved in intricate patterns, and the drops began to orbit each other, forming the ancient symbol for

“life.”

“Impossible...”

Dr. Kyle whispered, his medical bag falling forgotten from his hands. “The Celestial Dew Technique? It vanished with the last imperial physician five centuries ago.”

The luminous drops suddenly shot forward, absorbed instantly into three precise points on the patient's body – throat, heart, and forehead.

“Remove him from all other medicines,”

Damien said quietly, already turning to leave.

“When the frost patterns fade at sunrise tomorrow, he will wake, fully healed.”

At that moment Dr. Kyle stumbled forward, his eyes widened, he couldn't believe he just saw a technique he had long aspired to learn but never came close to master it.
