Seeing the document on Damien hands, Megan’s eyes locked on the paper Damien held. Her face froze, and for a brief moment, she forgot to breathe.

Without being told she could tell that was it. That was the same document—down to the formatting, the margin spacing, even the signature line that had her initials on it. Her heart jumped to her throat.

But instinct kicked in, she blinked fast and scoffed, forcing out a weak laugh. “This… this is fake,” she said, her voice sharper than intended. “Where did you even get this? Are you stalking me now, Damien? Are you hiding in corners, collecting lies?”

She shot to her feet, trying to reclaim control of the room with sheer volume.

“I didn’t send this! Anyone could have forged this! Where’s your proof that it was me?”

However her hands were trembling at her sides, but she didn’t let them rise into view.

Then her eyes darted between Damien and the document, trying to find an escape in denial.

“I didn’t do this,” she repeated louder, voice crac

I didn’t mean for any of this... I was scared... I thought I was doing what’s best for us, it was my mom..”Damien stood silently, his expression unreadable. His eyes, cold and void of pity, studied her like a stranger.“Forgive you?” His voice was low—calm, yet carrying the weight of a thousand storms.“When you plotted behind my back? When you tried to destroy everything tied to me—my family name , our company, even my mother’s resting place...” Then he took a step forward, his shadow swallowing the slumped figure on the floor. “Did you think about consequences then? Did you think about me surviving any of it?”At that moment Megan opened her mouth to say something, but it was too late.Damien’s hand rose again—those fingers d

The room fell into silence the moment Damien finished speaking.Across the long mahogany table, the chairman of the association slowly leaned back in his seat, his fingers drumming the surface with deliberate arrogance. Then his cold eyes scanned Damien like one would examine a speck of dirt on polished shoes. Then he scoffed.“Did I ask for your opinion?” His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension like a knife. “Who gave you the right to speak?”Immediately Uncle Bernard shifted in his seat but dared not utter a word. He had already spoken once today and had been embarrassed for it.However Damien didn’t flinch. He met the chairman’s gaze without blinking, his expression calm, unreadable. The chairman stood and walked slowly toward the center of the room, his presence commanding the attention of every single board member. “You know,” he continued, turning to address the room, “I was being generous.”He turned back to Damien, his lips curling into a smirk. “But from the look of

Then he pointed—straight at them.“All of you. You’ve destroyed innocent people long enough. And the worst part? You think you’re untouchable.”Some committee members shifted uneasily. One cleared his throat but said nothing.“You think the world revolves around you,” Damien continued. “You think you can twist laws, make up punishments that suit your egos—punish anyone you don’t like, simply because you can.”His words cut deeper than raised voices ever could.“And let’s talk about the so-called crime here. A product fell below standard. That happens. There are clear procedures for this kind of thing. You fine the company—between ten and fifty thousand dollars—standard penalty.”He paused deliberately, letting the weight of his words settle.“They’ve agreed to

At that moment Damien then walked closer to him, his steps slow and deliberate. The air in the room had shifted. Even the faintest breath felt heavy now. The man in handcuffs lifted his head to meet Damien’s eyes—those sharp, unflinching eyes that no longer held any room for patience.“I told you,” Damien said, each word laced with calm fury, “Like I told you… you’re done for.”His voice didn’t rise, but it cut deeper than any shout ever could.“For what you just did… and everything else—for trying to bring others down, for twisting everything to suit yourself—you’re going to go down.”At that moment the man’s mouth opened slightly, as if to argue. But no sound came. He had nothing left to say.His eyes widened as he watched Demian—not with fear alone, but with disbelief. He hadn’t imagined this would happen. He hadn’t thought Demian was capable of this.He hadn’t believed that someone he dismissed as nothing could rise with such quiet dominance and bring the entire room to its knees.

At that moment Damien leaned back into his car, his eyes shifted slightly, curious but calm. “You said you wanted to talk about something important?”Uncle Bernard exhaled slowly and nodded, gripping his key tighter than usual. “Yes... it’s about the War Goddess. Serenity.”Damien’s brows barely twitched, but he was listening now.“I’ve been thinking,” Uncle Bernard continued, choosing his words carefully. “Something occurred to me. Serenity... she actually needs your help. Her grandfather really sick. And I mean... serious sick.”He glanced at Damien briefly before focusing back.“I know you might not be interested, but... I think you should just do what’s needful,” he added quietly. “Heal the old man. You’re capable. And honestly, Serenity might be of great benefit to you in the future.”Damien didn’t say a word yet. The silence stretched.“I mean,” Bernard added with a nervous chuckle, “she’s not just any woman. She’s... she’s the war goddess. If you help her, she could open more

She blinked rapidly, stunned, frozen. Both of them didn’t move, didn’t speak. Then suddenly, as if reality had just slammed into them, they both pulled back at the exact same moment.Immediately Sophia scrambled to her feet, avoiding his eyes. Her cheeks had turned bright red, and her hands were fidgeting with the hem of her top. However Damien stood up more slowly, brushing invisible dust off his shirt. He didn’t dare look at her. Not now. His mind was racing, trying to make sense of what just happened. The kiss wasn’t supposed to happen—especially not like that.At that moment Sophia opened her mouth slightly, maybe to say something, maybe just to break the silence—but nothing came out. She closed it again, exhaled softly, turned around, and walked quickly toward the guest room, her face still red, her pace stiff.Ho

At that moment she shut her eyes tight, her fists clenching. “That’s not who I am, it was just mistake.”The more she sat there, the more her thoughts spiraled. Every second Damien stayed away added another layer of guilt she couldn’t shake off.“He probably left because of me,” she said quietly, standing up suddenly. “He would publicly not want to see me when he comes back.”Her gaze fell across the room—the glass she used earlier, the folded laundry still on the chair, and the space that for a moment, felt like home. But not anymore, Sophia grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She wouldn’t stay here, not when everything felt so heavy and awkward. Her decision was swift. She stepped out of the room, locked the door gently behind her, and walked out of Damien’s house. She was heading to the apartment she used to live in before everything changed—the one outside her family’s estate, tucked away on a quiet street where no one bothered her.Not long after she arrived and the

That was the only thought he could cling to now—the only thread of hope dangling in his mind. Serenity. Yes, Serenity would do something. She had to. She could still speak on their behalf. She had influence. If she could put in a good word before the Supreme King, perhaps the door to power wasn’t completely shut. Perhaps they hadn’t lost everything. But even that hope couldn’t wash away the sour sting of disgrace.Because as he stood there, shame gnawed at his chest like a silent storm. Damien—this same boy he had looked down on, dismissed, insulted—had become their savior. Not only had he exposed the very monsters they once trusted… he had also saved Sophia. And now… he was standing right there.A few feet away. Calm. Composed. Not angry, not proud. Just… present. And that alone made it worse. The old man couldn’t even raise his head. He felt it deep in his bones—the weight of having sold out Damien’s heart, dismissed his worth, only for that same heart to carry his family through th

That doesn’t even sound like him.”“I’ll call him right now,” her grandfather added, already reaching for his phone. “I’ll ask him myself. The warehouse trembled under the weight of his aura.Without a word, he raised his hand and unleashed it.A massive gust of decay burst from his palm like a cannon—corrosive wind screaming across the air, devouring the concrete floor in its path. It was something far more refined. More ancient. The white energy stretched wide like a dome, meeting the dark decay in mid-air.“Boom.”The collision was silent for a moment—the
