Chapter Hundred and seven

In the dark prison cell, Emma sat on her bunk, her mind occupied with thoughts after Charles’ unexpected visit earlier. The cold metal bars reflected shadows on the concrete walls, as her fingers traced the patterns on the wall. She couldn’t shake off the curiosity about why Charles had chosen to confront her, questioning her remorse.
