Chapter Ninety-five

Still in his office at Oscorp, Charles sat behind his desk, his face etched with concern as he gazed at the city skyline through the towering glass windows. The clock on the wall ticked away the seconds, each one bringing with it a mounting sense of urgency. Norah sat in her own office nearby, engrossed in her work.

Suddenly, Charles picked up his phone and dialed her number. He could feel his heart pounding as he spoke, “Norah, could you come to my office please? It’s urgent.”

Norah, intrigued by the urgency in Charles’s voice, swiftly made her way to his office. As she entered, she noted the tension in the room. “What’s going on?” she inquired.

Charles leaned forward, his voice hushed. “Norah, my mother, Selena, just called. She’s on her way to the city, and she’s in a state of panic. She’s seen some horrible lies about us and the company in the news, and now she’s convinced it’s the end of the world."
