Chapter Twelve

Emma sat elegantly in the living room that oozed of luxury. She was engrossed in a conversation with her mother, discussing an upcoming charity event they would be hosting.

As they chatted, the housekeeper entered the room, holding a small, brown envelope in her hands. She walked over to Emma and said, “there’s a package for you, ma’am. It arrived with your name on it.”

Emma looked up, curious, and replied, “Oh, thank you, I wonder who it’s from. Probably another invitation or some business documents.” She took the envelope from the housekeeper and placed it on the coffee table in front of her.

“Would you like anything?” the middle-aged woman asked politely.

Emma smiled appreciatively, “Actually, a drink would be lovely. Could you please bring me a glass of wine from the bar?”

“Certainly,” the employee said, and she headed towards the mini-bar to fulfill Emma’s request.
