The Lambo stopped in front of one of Silverhaven's luxury hotels, the Gold Hotel. Piers became silent after he saw how strong Ethan was against monster. Even a vampire could be defeated with ease.

Ethan who was sitting in the back opened the door. “Thank you for bringing me here.”

Ethan then got out of the car and went into the hotel. Leaving Piers who was still glued there. Piers' hands became sweaty. He hissed while closing her eyes. “With just one magic he can defeat Miss Cornellia. I've never seen anything like that. Even my abilities are nothing compared to his.”

Ethan approached the receptionist. A man with neatly combed hair and a big smile. The receptionist narrowed her eyes slightly. “Welcome, Mr. Ethan Hunter. Welcome back to the Gold Hotel.”

Ethan didn't immediately answer the man's greeting. Instead, he took a black card from his wallet and gave it to the man. The receptionist accepted it immediately.

The receptionist smiled back. “Ar you gonna use your usual room, Mr. Ethan?”

Ethan nodded. “I'll use that room again, Jim.”

The receptionist named Jim grinned as he scanned Ethan's black card. He then handed the black card back to Ethan while giving him the key to access the room Ethan was referring to. “The daily f*e will be deducted from your account. You already get additional facilities such as 3 meals a day, access--”

Ethan immediately raised his index finger to indicate that he already knew everything. After all, Ethan used to use this hotel room a lot when he was a Hunter.

Ethan took his card and put it back in his wallet. Then he turned around to head to his room.

However, Jim said with a smile. “You're finally back in action, Mr. Ethan.”

Ethan paused for a moment. He took a deep breath. He was reminded of the previous incident when he defeated Cornellia. It was not a task given by the organization, after all Ethan had not joined the organization since 3 years ago. Perhaps, Jim said that because he saw the gun and dagger on Ethan's waist.

Ethan opened his eyes. “I'm retired.”

That phrase made Jim frown. Even though Jim was one of the few people who knew Ethan's work as a Hunter. Jim could only remain silent as Ethan's back moved further and further towards the elevator.

The 67th floor room number 691 was the one Ethan was using. A room that the hotel had always deliberately vacated for Ethan. Even after 3 years, this room was still the same.

Ethan put down his bag and sat on the sofa. He looked at his palms. He felt that his strength had decreased. Probably because he hadn't fought for 3 years. “I lost my touch.”

Ethan's mood was mixed, because tonight so many things had happened. From the divorce that he did not expect to the existence of the vampire that he inevitably had to kill. Most disturbing, however, was his inability to keep his promise to his first mentor, Thalia's grandfather.

When Ethan was 15 years old, he once helped a wounded man at the edge of the forest. He was Volland Blake. Ethan wanted to take him to the hospital, but Volland refused because he was being chased by bad guys. Finally Ethan took care of him in a hut in the middle of the forest. Every day Ethan brought him bread. To return the favor, Volland taught him some martial arts techniques. Until finally Volland recovered.

From here, Ethan's life changed. In order to change his fate, Ethan joined the military at the age of 16. Ethan himself did not tell his sister who was still in the orphanage until he was 3 years in the military. During those 3 years, Ethan went through a lot of training and battles, until finally they discovered a new fact. There are other creatures that are more dangerous than humans holding weapons. The creatures of darkness.

They are creatures that appear in myths and horror stories in movies. Most humans think they are just a figment of their imagination. However, somehow a portal appeared. The creatures of darkness that should not have come into contact with humans were suddenly present among humans. The government then gathered people with special talents and formed the Hunters organization, where Ethan, who had won many wars, became the General. He led the war against the creatures of darkness with cold hands for 2 years. Until finally he met Volland Blake again.

At that time, Volland Blake was already in a sickly state. Ethan knew that Volland's life was no longer long because of the actions of the creatures of darkness. At the end of his life, Volland asked Ethan to marry Thalia. He knew that Ethan would be able to protect her. Unfortunately, all these promises could not be kept by Ethan because of the divorce.

Ethan exhaled. “It's been a long day. I'm going to bed.”

After two days of Ethan's stay at the hotel, he felt that he needed to regain his physical strength that had diminished a lot. 3 years of being at the Blake family residence without training had reduced his muscle mass.

If only Ethan was still as strong as before, then Ethan should be able to defeat Cornellia Bridgit with just his dagger alone. Without the need to use his magic skills. Ethan decided to go to the gym to remedy this.

Ethan walked through the streets to reach a gym in the Gold Hotel complex. Although there was a gym in the Gold Hotel, Ethan preferred to do it outside the hotel because he was bored with the hotel atmosphere.

He entered the gym and his eyes were immediately drawn to a treadmill. He approached the treadmill.

“Oh... look at this loser. 2 days missing and now I have to smell the stench of his existence again. What are you doing here, Ethan?” A familiar male voice sounded from behind Ethan.

Ethan turned his head and Ethan immediately narrowed his eyes when he saw Edward Chulkin's figure there. Beside him were two men who smiled dimly at Ethan. They must be the ones following Edward.

Edward stepped up with his head up. Then he pushed Ethan's shoulder. “A poor man like you shouldn't be in this place. You have nothing to steal here.”

Edward's two friends in the back immediately started giggling. Niko, one of them even shook his head. “Edward, is that the stupid guy you were telling me about?”

Edward folded his arms across his chest. “Yes! That's right. He's that fool. The poor guy I kicked out by getting his wife pregnant. Oh yeah, and I heard he hasn't had sex with his wife in three years of marriage.”

Niko burst out laughing. “Fool! What kind of husband is that? Someone else got his wife pregnant!”

Edward grinned. “Yes... even though his wife is very, very beautiful! And more importantly, she's very good in bed. Too bad you never got to experience that, Ethan!”

Ethan looked away. “She's not my business anymore.”

Thalia was no longer Ethan's wife. She no longer wanted to be involved in Blake's family affairs. It was time for Ethan to ignore everything in the past and try to regain his lost strength.

Being ignored like that displeased Edward. He pushed Ethan's shoulder again while glaring. “Even you are still being arrogant. Remember, you're just a poor, disgusting man. Leave or I will force you in an unpleasant way.”

Ethan looked coldly into Edward's eyes. Then Ethan stepped towards the barbell rack and picked up the 15 kg weight there.

Edward grew angry at being ignored by Ethan. “You're looking for trouble, aren't you? Go away!”

Ethan then deliberately dropped the weight in his hand. The weight went into freefall and hit Edward's big toe hard.

Edward immediately screamed in pain while jumping up and down. “Asshole! You idiot!”

Ethan grinned. “Oops, your scream startled me. Made that thing fell.”

So, Ethan looked at them casually while giving a faint smile.Niko held the collar of Ethan's shirt. “From your smile, you must have done it on purpose. You're looking to die, aren't you?”Ethan pointed at Edward. “He's the one who scared me. He glanced at Edward's foot. His big toe was very red and swollen. It had probably been fractured. For a person who had never experienced the battlefield, such a thing was already very painful. His eyes narrowed slightly, wary of this person. “Do you know my name?”The receptionist nodded. “Mr. Jim told me about you.”Jim was the receptionist who had greeted Ethan earlier. He must have also told this young man that Ethan was a former Demon Hunter. Thus making him friendly to Ethan.Ethan glanced at the name tag on his chest. “Jason... Jim taught you well, Jason.”Jason gave a small smile. He bowed his head in respect. “Thank you. Maybe you haven't remembered, but I'm still alive thanks to Mr. Ethan. A smile of satisfaction was painted on his face. Followers of the creatures of darkness did have a very annoying nature. As devil worshipers, they would be possessed by demons and have various abilities. To the Demon Hunter, they were still human beings. They are not allowed to be killed. However, they also always act as allies of the demons. Making it difficult for the Demon Hunters. Their suddenly blackened corneas were strong evidence that they had demons inside them. The policeman grabbed Ethan's shoulder. “Move! Get in the car. With a firm step he approached the deputy with anger. “Listen, damn it! If you still love your life, stay away from people with black cards. Even if they carry a sharp weapon or a gun.”Rio tilted his head. He realized that he wasn't a completely honest cop. However, letting a civilian carry a weapon was not something that could be justified. “So, Lieutenant is saying that cops like us shouldn't bother people like that even if they hurt others?”The lieutenant shouted loudly. “Yes! If they kill someone, you should never arrest them! Do you hear me?”Rio frowned. He really didn't understand the Lieutenant's train of thought. Karl immediately dragged him back. “Rio, never mind. After all, Ethan had seen this man's evil actions from the beginning.Ethan asked back angrily. “You're still evasive?”The man immediately showed an angry face. “Do you have any proof, huh? Right now Ethan was witnessing how someone could strongly resist an accusation that was clearly very visible. In front of Ethan, Ronald bent at the waist while exhaling. “This is not good, apparently you have a problem with my nephew.
