“Are you out of your mind?” Edward looked at Ethan while wincing at the pain. He immediately looked back. “Niko, Fernand, why are you guys so quiet?”

Edward's two friends immediately stood in front of Ethan while glaring at Ethan. They acted like people with power. Unfortunately, such intimidating behavior had no effect on a former General like Ethan. So, Ethan looked at them casually while giving a faint smile.

Niko held the collar of Ethan's shirt. “From your smile, you must have done it on purpose. You're looking to die, aren't you?”

Ethan pointed at Edward. “He's the one who scared me. That make the thing fell.”

Niko pushed Ethan's body until Ethan backed up and his back hit the wall. “Don't fuck around, damn it. Don't you know the Chulkin family?”

Ethan didn't answer her. He glanced at Edward's foot. His big toe was very red and swollen. It had probably been fractured. For a person who had never experienced the battlefield, such a thing was already very painful. However, should Ethan let the man who took his wife only get a small injury like that?

Edward touched his swollen thumb. He immediately cried out in pain. “You bastard! My thumb hurts so much and I feel dizzy. Something must have happened to the bone. I will definitely sue you. You'll go to jail!”

Ethan tilted his head. There was no concrete evidence that Ethan had done that on purpose. However, for members of the Chulkin family it would be very easy to do that with their power.

Fernand unceremoniously unleashed a fist that went straight for Ethan's face. However, Ethan immediately held him back. That made Fernand open his eyes wide.

Ethan glanced at Fernand. “Get out of the way. Take care of your whiny boss.”

Ethan dismissed the hand. This morning was not a good time to fight. After all, this was a crowded place. Ethan didn't want to get involved in anything troublesome.

Ethan turned around and intended to leave those people. However, Niko grabbed him roughly by the shoulders. He forced Ethan to turn around.

Niko glared while slapping Ethan's cheek. “Don't ignore us, asshole. Do you realize what you've done? Before you go to jail, I'm going to beat your face in!”

Ethan held his cheek. He rubbed it while smiling slightly. It had been a long time since he had felt a punch from someone. The last time he felt it was 3 years ago when he fought a wendigo. This guy's punch wasn't as strong as the wendigo's, but somehow in Ethan's head this guy looked dumber than the wendigo.

Ethan clenched his fist to prepare to punch, but his brain instantly stopped that thought. He immediately realized that the person in front of him didn't deserve a punch from Ethan.

Ethan's smile made Niko even angrier. “I knew it, you did that to Edward on purpose. I'll break your hand for dropping that barbell on Edward!”

Edward immediately smiled while glaring. “Good! Make him feel 10 times more pain than I did. Break his bones ten times!”

Hearing the commotion, the security guards entered and came to them. “Stop it, what are you doing?”

Fernand immediately confronted the security guard. He reached into his pants pocket.

The security guard furrowed his brow. “Get out of the way, customer! You can't fight in the gym-”

Fernand took out a wad of money and stuffed the security guard's mouth with it. “Shhh... shut your mouth up and go away. Pretend you didn't see us. You don't want to get involved with the Chulkin family's problems, do you?”

Hearing the name Chulkin, the guard raised both eyebrows. He glanced at Edward and immediately recognized the person. Slowly the man turned around and walked away. He knew that dealing with the Chulkin family would only cost him his job.

Ethan exhaled. There was nothing he could expect from the security guard. The Chulkin family's influence even reached a little guy like him.

Niko grimaced with pleasure. She lifted Ethan's hand. “This hand is evil, I'll break it right away.”

Fernand immediately held Ethan's body from behind. Niko then picked up the barbell and raised it. Preparing to smash the barbell into Ethan's hand to break the bones. The man grimaced and opened his eyes wide. “I break it now, huh...”

Edward burst out laughing. “Great! That's my brother! Break it now, Niko!”

Niko swung his hand to smash Ethan's hand. People screamed while closing their eyes in horror. However, Ethan kicked Niko in the groin before the barbell touched Ethan's hand. Niko, who felt unimaginable pain, immediately let go of the barbell and held his groin.

The barbell was thrown towards Edward and hit his big toe again. Edward heard a sound like wood breaking from the big toe. An excruciating pain instantly radiated. Edward screamed in pain like a frightened dog.

The panicked Fernand immediately released his hold on Ethan and came closer to Edward to inspect the wound. “Ed! Edward! Oh no, you broke your thumb, it's bent the wrong way!”

Edward screamed even more. “Asshole! Ethan's trash! I'll definitely make you rot in jail!”

Ethan tilted his head as he turned around. “Take it to the hospital, before it becomes a permanent disability.”

Fernand and Niko immediately helped Edward up. They carried him on their shoulders while shuffling. Edward's breathing was very heavy, he looked at Ethan from behind vengefully. “Ethan Hunter! I must have killed you!”

Ethan only smiled faintly. He didn't think too much about what Edward was going to do. Ethan waited for him.

After the three people came out, Ethan saw how people were looking at him. They were staring uncomfortably. These people didn't even prevent Edward and his two friends when they wanted to break Ethan's hand. They must have been afraid of hearing the Chulkin family name and chose not to interfere.

Ethan exhaled. There was no point in blaming them. The Chulkin family's influence in the town of Silverhaven was huge. Ordinary citizens were just like pebbles to them.

Ethan finally resumed his activities to train with the barbell. “I didn't expect the Chulkin influence to reach here.”

Among all those people, a girl approached Ethan. “E-Excuse me ... are you okay?”

Ethan turned to the girl. She was a very cute looking girl. She had fair skin and red lips. With her messy chic bun hairstyle, she looked fresh. She was wearing a pink tanktop and looked a little sweaty.

Ethan nodded. “Yes.”

The slender girl bit her lip. “Umh... I saw what happened just now. You might be in big trouble. The person with the broken thumb is the first child of the Chulkin family. Then, the two people with him are his cousins. What you did just now will put you in danger.”

Ethan tilted his head. “Why?”

The girl seemed to hesitate. “Some of the Chulkin family are police in Silverhaven.”
