The cold glint in Jackson's beautiful eyes made Zeke shudder.

Connor, who stood beside them, spoke up. "Don't ask what you're not supposed to ask. Mr. Shaw, how do you not understand this?"

Zeke paled and left in embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Jackson leaned back on the couch. He then took out a cheap cell phone with only one number stored in it and dialed it. A few moments later, a gentle female voice answered the call.

"Sis, what do you want to eat tonight? I'll pack it and bring it home," Jackson said softly, and his cold eyes became gentle.

That night, Serenity took a tissue and wiped the picture frame with her mother's photo.

She had specially bought a small desk for her rented place. She usually put her mother's photo on the desk and would wipe the accumulated dust every few days.

All of her mother's belongings had been left at the Lewis Residence. For her, this photo was the only thing she had of her mother.
