Derek knew that call was coming in soon which was why he wasn't all surprised when he saw his phone ringing to signify a call from Edna Langston.

It was the weekend away from work and it meant he had time to himself so he decided to spend it at home with his wife.

When the call came in, he was alone in the room and that gave him the opportunity to pick the call without having any problems of suspicion from his wife.

"Hello, Edna," he said into the phone right after picking up the call.

"Derek," the woman called his name from the other end. "I can't tell you how glad I am to hear your voice."

His expression was a bit vague as he sat up from the bed. He wasn't all comfortable with lying down to communicate.

"It hasn't been too long since we last spoke," he reminded the woman who made it seem like it has been ages since their last communication.
