The man tried to turn his head to look at Perseus, but he couldn’t. His legs felt like jelly, and in a matter of seconds, he slumped down Perseus' arm, no longer resisting Perseus' grip.

Perseus took it as a clue to let go of the man and let him drop to the floor. The man clutched his neck, his eyes wide with terror. He wasn’t dead or unconscious, but he wasn’t okay either.

“You're done so quickly,” Zeppelin said, rising to his feet and stretching his arm. “It was hard falling over like that. I hit my arm by mistake.”

“Me too, but it was my head,” Ryan stated as he rose to his feet. “It was a human who had been murdering others by taking advantage of the rumors going around that the house was haunted.”

“Should I say I told you so?” Zeppelin asked. “You believed it was a ghost, and now that you have seen for yourself, will you give me the money we made a bet on?”

Ryan scoffed. “I said that out of impulse. I didn’t mean I was going to hand the money over to you for real.”
