Chapter 209 - Announcement

The announcement ended, and the villagers knew that the Empire was going to attack. But instead of fearing for their lives, thinking this would be the end of the world, they looked up and… said nothing. These people even chanted for my name.

“Owari is going to save us!”

“Owari will protect us all!”

“Thank goodness we have a kind leader!”

The streets were filled with joyous songs, food, and even statues meant for me as a gift. I blinked a few many times, unsure what was happening. And then, when these villagers forgot my presence, I returned inside the municipal hall, still wondering what was happening outside and what had gone inside those people’s heads.

“Did they… lose their heads or something?”

Somehow, at the back of my head, I thought that these people were just coping with what they had heard from me. A normal person would fear what was about to come, especially when the pirates nearly annihilated us. But… I felt like that wasn’t the case.

I was even planning to call the ninjas
