"No. I won’t divorce her," Alexis said firmly, making Zilda and Mikaela seethe in anger.

Zelle smirked slyly at her aunt and cousin. "You’d better leave before I call security."

"No," Zilda refused. "You can’t just kick us out that easily, you tramp."

We won’t let you take all of Carlos’s inheritance, Zilda thought bitterly.

Zelle glared at her. "How dare you call me that, you bastard!" She lunged at Zilda, but Howard suddenly appeared.

"Stop it, Zelle," Howard ordered coldly before turning to Zilda, Mikaela, and the rest of the family. "I need to talk to all of you. Follow me." He walked out, and the others followed, leaving Alexis alone in confusion.

"What is it?" Zilda asked sarcastically.

"I want us to work together," Howard said, his tone authoritative.

"Work together?"

"Yes. We’ll convince Alexis to sign the declaration. Then, we’ll split Carlos’s inheritance fairly among us. How does that sound?" Howard explained confidently.

Helen and her husband, Adam, exchanged glances, silently discussing the idea. The same went for Harold and Zelda.

"If we compete with each other, Alexis will suspect us. Once he finds out he’s Carlos’s heir, we’ll get nothing. Worse, he’ll probably take revenge on us for treating him like dirt when we kicked him out and left him homeless," Howard reasoned.

"You’re right," Harold agreed.

"Fine, I’m in," Helen added.

After they reached an agreement, Zelle returned to Alexis’s room.

"What’s going on, babe?"

"Nothing," Alexis replied. Zelle sat next to him, running her hand along his jawline, now shadowed with stubble. "You look so handsome up close."

Alexis’s heart raced as Zelle’s face came closer to his.

*Smack.*

Alexis froze as he felt Zelle’s lips on his. His body stiffened, unable to believe what was happening. For the first time, they were kissing. Normally, Zelle wouldn’t even let him sit near her.

"What’s gotten into you today, Zelle?" Alexis asked, stunned. "You’re acting so different."

"Why? Don’t you like being close to me?" Zelle pouted.

"It’s not that," Alexis stammered, his cheeks flushing. "I’m just...happy."

"Me too." They kissed again, passionately this time. "Oh, by the way, honey, I need to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"I want to have a baby."

Alexis’s eyes widened in astonishment. "Are you serious?"

"Of course, but there’s a problem." Zelle shifted the topic.

"What kind of problem?"

"I can’t conceive naturally. We’ll need to do in-vitro fertilization, and I need your signature as my husband to approve it. Would you do that for me?"

"Of course!" Alexis agreed without hesitation.

Zelle smirked deviously. She had suspected that Alexis’s love and obsession would make him an easy target.

"Here, honey," Zelle said, handing him a pen and guiding his hand to the paper. "Sign right here."

Without thinking twice, Alexis signed the document, dreaming of the chance to finally become a father.

Zelle smiled triumphantly, watching as Alexis unknowingly signed away his entire inheritance.

"You fool," she muttered under her breath.

"Did you just call me a fool?" Alexis asked, puzzled.

"Yes." Zelle’s demeanor turned arrogant.

"Why?" Alexis frowned in confusion.

Moments later, Howard, Adam, Harold, and Leonard entered the room. They quickly grabbed Alexis and tied his hands and feet.

"What are you doing?! Let me go!" Alexis yelled, thrashing around as they overpowered him. Though he couldn’t see them, he recognized their scent—it was the Cornell family.

"Zelle! Help me!"

"Why would I?" Zelle laughed coldly.

The four men carried Alexis out of the mansion and into a waiting car. Alexis screamed for help, but his cries were muffled by the cloth stuffed in his mouth.

*Where are they taking me?!* Alexis’s mind raced with fear, but his blindness rendered him powerless.

"You’re pathetic, Alexis," Leonard sneered.

*Leonard?* Alexis’s heart sank. Though the Cornell family had always been cruel, he hadn’t imagined they would go this far.

"You should never have joined the Cornell family. Now, you’ll pay the price."

*Damn you all!* Alexis cursed silently, his muffled groans filled with rage.

"If Carlos hadn’t left everything to you, we wouldn’t have to do this," Howard said venomously.

Alexis’s eyes widened in shock.

The car finally stopped at an elite cemetery, where several of the Cornell family’s men were waiting. They dragged Alexis out, shoved him into a coffin, and began burying him alive.

Alexis fought with all his strength, but it was no use. Tears streamed down his face as he struggled for air. *God, please, avenge me,* he prayed as his vision darkened and he fell into unconsciousness.

**One month later**

Alexis slowly opened his eyes, squinting against the harsh light above him.

"This can’t be real." Tears rolled down his cheeks as he realized he could see his surroundings.

"How is this possible? Am I in heaven?"

"Finally, you’re awake, young master," a voice called.

Startled, Alexis turned to see a well-dressed man in his fifties approaching him.

"Who are you?" Alexis asked warily. "Did the Cornell family send you to finish me off?" Though the voice was familiar, Alexis couldn’t place it.

The man chuckled softly, trying to ease his nerves. "Don’t worry, young master. I’m Raymond, your family’s assistant."

"Raymond?" Alexis’s eyes widened as the memory clicked. Raymond had attended the Cornell mansion’s banquet before everything went dark.

"What do you mean, ‘my family’s assistant’? I’m an orphan. I don’t have a family."

Raymond’s expression grew somber. "There’s a lot to explain, young master. The short version is—you’re the sole heir of Simson Morris, son of Alexander Morris."

Alexis was stunned. "Are you joking?"

"Twenty years ago, the Morris mansion was bombed by assassins sent by business rivals," Raymond began, his voice shaking but steady.

"Your parents died in the explosion trying to protect you. The blast left you blind and severely injured. To keep you safe, Mr. Simson placed you in Mr. Carlos’s orphanage, hiding you from the killers. He even adopted another child as a decoy heir."

Tears streamed down Alexis’s face. "Grandfather was cruel! How could he abandon me to that miserable life? The Cornell family treated me like dirt!"

"I understand your anger, young master. I deeply regret my delay," Raymond said, bowing apologetically. "After witnessing your humiliation at the Cornell banquet, I decided it was time to reveal the truth."

He continued, "Your suffering ends now. I’ll help you seek justice. Mr. Carlos is gone, so there’s no reason to hold back."

"Grandfather Carlos is dead?!" Alexis gasped, his heart shattering.

"Yes. And you can see again because he donated his eyes to you."

Alexis wept openly. "Grandfather..."

"There’s more," Raymond said gravely. "Mr. Carlos didn’t die naturally. He was poisoned—by his own family."

"What?!" Alexis’s fists clenched tightly.
