The Cornell family was at the peak of their power, having successfully taken control of Carlos’s wealth. Zelle had become the CEO of Cornell Corp, thanks to her pivotal role in seizing her grandfather's inheritance from Alexis.
Zelle stepped out of her Lamborghini and walked gracefully toward the company lobby, surrounded by hundreds of reporters.
The reporters swarmed around her like a cluster of ants.
"Is it true that you and Mr. Vincenzo are getting married in a week?"
"Is your marriage with Mr. Vincenzo meant to strengthen the partnership between the two conglomerate families?"
Zelle flashed a friendly smile at the cameras. "Yes, Vincenzo and I will be getting married soon, right after he is officially named the sole heir of the Morris family."
"When will the official ceremony be held? Will you and the Cornell family attend?"
"Of course!" Zelle smiled confidently. "Because I’m his fiancée."
"What’s your response to being named the most powerful couple in the USA?"
Zelle chuckled at the question.
After answering a few more questions, Zelle entered the building, flanked by a team of bodyguards.
“Ugh, disgusting!” Zelle muttered, irritated, as she entered her office and collapsed onto the sofa.
“Miss, the dress you ordered is ready. You’re requested to try it on with Mr. Vincenzo.”
“Alright. I’ll head there soon.”
After finishing up a few tasks, Zelle made her way to the boutique to meet her fiancé.
“Hello, darling.” Vincenzo kissed Zelle on the forehead.
The door creaked again, causing everyone to look up.
“You!” Zelle blinked in disbelief. “What are you doing here? You should be—”
“Dead?” Alexis chuckled darkly.
Zelle was momentarily stunned by Alexis’s appearance. He looked far more muscular beneath his tight T-shirt. Unfortunately, he still looked pathetic, wearing nothing but shorts, a white shirt, and sandals.
“How can you see?” Vincenzo sneered. Getting a donor’s eyes was expensive.
“So, this is your mistress, Zelle?” Alexis’s voice was filled with disappointment. His heart still ached from their betrayal.
“Mistress?” Zelle chuckled. “Since when did we ever have a relationship?”
“So, you deny it?” Alexis raised an eyebrow. “Should I show proof?” He held up the wedding ring still adorning his finger.
“Our names are engraved on this ring,” Alexis added.
Zelle froze, especially when she saw the staff whispering about it.
Vincenzo laughed elegantly. “Looks like your crazy obsession still isn’t cured, Alexis. Do you need me to take you to a hospital? Don’t worry, I’ll cover the treatment because I know you’re poor.”
Zelle snuggled closer to Vincenzo, purring, “Oh, darling. You’re so kind.”
“By the way, what are you doing here in this expensive boutique? Oh, I know. You must be a servant here.” Vincenzo scoffed, spilling his coffee on the floor. “Clean this up, servant.” Zelle and Vincenzo burst into laughter.
Alexis gritted his teeth, but he didn’t want to argue in public. He had already prepared the most painful revenge for them.
“Sorry, what’s going on here?” Marlyn, a famous designer, approached them.
“Your servant just flirted with my fiancée,” Vincenzo complained. “Fire him.”
Marlyn eyed Alexis from head to toe. She had never employed a man like him.
“Why are you quiet? Do what I say!” Vincenzo barked, while Zelle smiled smugly.
“Are you Mr. Rowan?”
“Yes, that’s me.”
“Oh my God!” Marlyn exclaimed happily. “I apologize for making you wait, Mr. Rowan.”
“No problem.” Alexis smiled politely.
“Follow me. The tuxedo you ordered is ready for fitting.” Marlyn gestured for Alexis to follow her into the fitting room.
“What is this?!” Vincenzo shouted in fury. “How dare you ignore me for an idiot like him?”
Marlyn gave Vincenzo a scornful look. “Don’t insult my client, Mr. Vincenzo. With all due respect, you might want to order your wedding suit somewhere else. I’m busy!”
Zelle was stunned. Did she hear that correctly? The older woman just kicked out Vincenzo, the most powerful man in the USA?
“How dare you kick me out! Don’t you know who I am?!” Vincenzo’s neck veins bulged as he snarled.
“I only serve those with manners.”
“Look at you, bitch! I’ll ruin your business! Come on, darling. Let’s leave.” Vincenzo grabbed Zelle’s hand and stormed out.
“Did Raymond explain everything?” Alexis guessed.
Marlyn just smiled.

“Damn!” Zelle threw a statue off her desk and onto the floor. “How is that bastard still alive?!”
Suddenly, a handsome man entered her office.
“What is it, Zelle?” Howard sneered. “I’m busy!”
“I have bad news, Dad!”
Howard furrowed his brows. “What is it?”
“Alexis is still alive! And now he can see!”
“Just that?” Howard wasn’t surprised at all.
“What’s with your reaction, huh?”
“What’s there to be afraid of? We’ve seized all of the inheritance your grandfather left him. He can’t report us to the police because he has no evidence. Besides, the police wouldn’t bother with a poor person’s case.” He chuckled cynically.
“I’m upset because Alexis humiliated me with Vincenzo at Marlyn’s boutique.”
“What do you mean?”
“That damn Marlyn chose to serve him instead of us! She even kicked us out of her boutique!”
“What?!” Howard was more shocked by this than the previous news. Marlyn’s boutique was a favorite of Hollywood stars and conglomerates. Her clothes cost over $100,000.
How could she serve a beggar like him?
“It’s weird.”
“I’m amazed because he suddenly looks way better than before. His skin is clean, and his hair is neatly styled. What exactly happened to him?” Zelle murmured, still intrigued. She couldn’t forget how handsome Alexis had become, like a Hollywood star.
“I know what’s happened to him.”
“What’s that, Dad?”
“Maybe he’s been working as a gigolo, serving lonely women. That’s why Marlyn preferred to serve Alexis over you.”
“You’re right, Dad.” Zelle grinned. “I can use this to bring him down.”
“Stop thinking about unimportant things, Zelle. You need to focus on your wedding to Vincenzo, because soon, he’ll be officially appointed as a senior executive at Morris Corp.”
"YOU BASTARD, RAYMOND!" Vincenzo shouted angrily in Raymond’s office. "How dare you postpone my inauguration as heir's Morris again! Are you tired of living, huh?!""Sorry, Mr. Vincenzo. But Morris Corp is dealing with internal issues. I need to resolve them first—""I don’t care! That’s your problem, not mine! What’s the point of Mr. Simson still paying you all this time, huh?!" Vincenzo cursed."I’ve been waiting for this moment for years, ever since Mr. Simson passed! Now you’re messing it up!""But—""I don’t want to hear it! You have to hold that event next week! Got it?!" Vincenzo had already announced the official ceremony date to the world. If the Cornell family found out it was canceled, he’d be humiliated."Sorry, I still can’t do that," Raymond politely refused. "The earliest would be a month from now. If you don’t agree, I can cancel it at any time," he said with a slight edge of threat."Bastard!" Vincenzo grabbed Raymond’s collar and glared at him. "How dare you threaten
"Alexis? Are you still alive?" "Yeah. As you can see," Alexis replied coldly. Mikaela glanced at Alexis with disgust. The green-eyed man was wearing a black tuxedo that looked cheap. "How did you even get into this upscale nightclub?" "I—" "Oh, I know!" Mikaela cut him off with a mocking laugh. "You must be a waiter here." "Can you stop insulting me?" Alexis snapped back. "Sure, but only if you were a rich man. I'd even be willing to lick your shoes," Mikaela said sarcastically. "Unfortunately, that's never going to happen because you’ll never be rich in your lifetime." Alexis lifted his chin. "What if I can prove you wrong?" Mikaela chuckled. "I’d sooner believe a rooster can lay eggs than believe you’re wealthy." She turned away and started walking toward the entrance. "Why are you following me?" Mikaela protested. "This door is for VIP guests only!" "I'm a VIP guest too." Mikaela burst into laughter. "Are you kidding me?" she mocked. "You need an access card
Alexis slowly opened his eyes. A sharp, unbearable pain seized his head."Where am I? What happened? Why does my head hurt so much?" Alexis wondered, finding himself lying in an unfamiliar room.He was shocked to find a woman lying next to him, completely naked.“Mikaela?!” Alexis sat up suddenly.“How could she be lying next to me? Did we—” He quickly shook his head. ‘No! There’s no way I slept with her!’Mikaela shifted slightly before waking up to the sound of Alexis's loud exclamation. "You're so noisy, idiot—" she suddenly sat up when she recognized his voice."What the hell are you doing in my room? What did you do to me?!" Mikaela covered her naked body with the blanket."Don't misunderstand! I didn’t rape you! I don’t even remember how we ended up in this room—"SLAP!“Liar!” Mikaela yelled, tears streaming down her face. “Is this how you get your revenge on me?!”“I’m not some bastard!” Alexis defended himself. “I hate you and your family, but I would never use such dirty met
“Get Alexis out,” Raymond ordered.“Are you sure? He’s the suspect the Greyson family reported, Mr. Raymond,” the warden explained politely.“Just follow my orders, or you’ll regret it.” Raymond glared at him.“Y-yes, sir.” With trembling hands, the warden unlocked the cell and released Alexis.“I’m sorry I arrived late, young master.”“No problem.”'Young master?'The two exited the building and got into a car.“What exactly happened, Mr. Alexis? How did you end up in prison?” Raymond asked, still in shock after receiving a call from Alexis’s bodyguard, who had secretly been following him.“It’s all because of Wayne Greyson and his father.” Alexis growled, his voice full of rage. “Wayne framed me and created a scenario that made it look like I assaulted Mikaela. That gave the Cornell family a reason to throw me in jail.”“He’s gone too far.”“Exactly. I want you to cancel the partnership with the Greyson Corp.”“I’ll take care of it right away, young master.”***“How about it, Dad?
"Are you sure you’re going to marry Mikaela, young master?" Raymond's voice came through Alexis’s phone. "Yes." Alexis glanced at Mikaela, who was sound asleep on his bed. They were currently staying at Carlos's orphanage—Alexis’s childhood home—since bringing her to his mansion was out of the question. "But she and her family insulted you." Alexis chuckled slyly. "I'm not marrying her without a reason, Raymond. This is all part of my revenge plan." "What’s your plan, Mr. Alexis? Allow me to assist you." "You’ll know soon enou—" "Tsk! You’re so noisy, Alexis," Mikaela grumbled, her voice groggy as she rubbed her eyes. "Who are you talking to, huh?" "I’m applying for a job." "This late at night? Seriously?" "It’s already morning, Miss." Alexis chuckled at her confusion. "Really?" Mikaela’s eyes widened as she pulled back the curtains. "Oh my God! I’m late!" She jumped out of bed and hurried to the door, grabbing her scarf along the way. "Late for what?" Alexis fol
“Congratulations, Vincenzo. Soon, you’ll officially become the richest man in the USA,” said a 55-year-old man as he shook Vincenzo’s hand.“Thank you very much,” Vincenzo replied confidently, flashing a smile as he shook hands with each distinguished guest approaching him.Meanwhile, Zelle stood elegantly by his side in a figure-hugging red dress that highlighted her flawless curves. Her poised demeanor and stunning appearance exuded sophistication, solidifying her image as the partner of the future heir to Morris Corp.“She’s incredibly lucky,” one woman whispered to her companion. “Her life will change completely once Vincenzo is officially named the heir.”The elegant atmosphere abruptly shifted as a man entered the room. His commanding presence drew every gaze, and the weight of his steps made a statement.“Who is he?” the guests murmured. Although they were all part of the elite, none seemed to recognize the mysterious man.Vincenzo’s expression darkened instantly. Anger simmere
"FUCK! Failure again!" The sound of shattering glass echoed as Vincenzo brutally knocked over the table in front of him. His face was flushed with rage. The room, once full of guests, was now silent, leaving only scattered glass shards and the awkward Cornell family.Zelle and her family exchanged glances. Disappointment was veiled behind their fake expressions of concern. They hadn’t been able to exploit Vincenzo’s wealth this time, but pretending to be a caring family was a duty they had to fulfill."Calm down, Vincenzo," Helen stepped forward, trying to salvage the situation. Her thin smile attempted to soothe him. "I'm sure Raymond must have a reason for not showing up."Vincenzo turned sharply, his eyes piercing through Helen. "A reason? Another piece of nonsense like that, I swear, I will destroy anyone who dares to stand in my way!"Everyone’s eyes were on Vincenzo as his fury boiled over. No one dared to oppose him. After taking a heavy breath, he grabbed his coat and left w
A man with a cold, fierce face entered a VIP room at one of the finest restaurants. The atmosphere in the room was already thick with an invisible tension."Finally, you’ve arrived. You made me wait too long," Vincenzo said, his voice low and sharp, as though there was no room for tolerance. He took a deep drag from his cigarette, exhaling the smoke calmly, as if savoring the tension that hung in the air.The room was deliberately dimmed. Only the soft glow of the lights reflected off the glossy black table surface, casting dark shadows around them."I had to secure the situation before coming here," Ernest replied briefly, his tone calculated, as he sat across from Vincenzo with a watchful demeanor."Did you bring what I asked for?" Ernest asked, his voice more of a command than a request."Sure," Vincenzo said, pushing a red folder across the table toward Ernest, as if delivering something of great value. "Here’s the official inheritance letter Raymond created, along with a sample o
