Chapter 21

"Remind me again why he's so special?" She said hoarsely on the phone.

One of the hellhounds growled. She was uneasy about following the dogs that brought death. She shuddered...the voice on the other line came into focus.

"...you understand. He's awakened, he is dangerous..."

She glanced at the dogs. "Mmm hmm?"

They sensed he was here but she didn't see anybody, the park beyond the arch gate was empty. Cars roved by the streets.

She wished she could crack a code. Instead, she was roaming around the streets like a drifter.

The hellhounds were hopeless when it came to control.

One lumbered forward across the street and the second followed. She had a weapon in her pocket just in case...

She clung to its side as it raced to a park where people gave way.

Maks was watching Chen demonstrate a few punches on the pad he held. He rolled his eyes when he stood back and did a roundhouse kick on the pad standing back in horse stance form.
