Maks paused with his foot down. It grazed against a vet shop running toward them. It bashed a car with its head.

Maks let go of the brakes and took a sharp right on his way to the beach.

"This isn't right." He said.

"You're not afraid, are you?" She asked.

"Would this be a good time to say I told you so?"

The earth quaked at its footsteps, it surged through the road bearing down on them. It opened its jaws, and Artemis puffed at its breath, she cringed and hung on.

"Hurry!!!"

"Hang ten." He said and diverted to a sandy trail. His turn was too sharp, he de-boarded the bike before it skidded over the hard. He flew and dropped Artemis by the rock barriers. It stomped through the sand and turned to them thundering.

It was coming closer. "That thing's relentless."
