Chapter 007 - The Second Quest

"You sure that individual would be able to settle the expenses for the meals he was consuming?"

"I... I don't know. I mean, what human being would be able to complete such a meal that would even be too much for fifty people?"

"Mother, look at that person, he's such a foodie! Didn't you tell me it is harmful to eat excessively, that it would cause food poisoning?"

"Daughter, don't mind him. Didn't you see that the person looked unusual, just ignore him, finish your meal quickly, we need to leave soon."

The inside of a renowned restaurant was buzzing with commotion now as everybody, regardless of staff and customers, watched the solitary figure occupying the seat of six people, devouring plate after plate of dishes as if he had an endless void in his stomach.

This solitary figure was Williams, who had left the hospital not long ago after fulfilling his part.

He had then realized that he was starving, with his stomach aching badly.

Because he knew how wealthy he was now, unlike in the past when he had to dine at an incredibly cheap roadside restaurant, Williams hurried to one of the famous restaurants in the city and ordered a feast meant for a celebration.

Initially, he was almost denied entry due to his attire, as the restaurant was intended for prominent individuals in the city and cardholders only. However, the lady on duty had pitied him when she realized that Williams might faint from hunger.

So after confirming that Williams could afford to pay for whatever he ordered, she allowed him to sit, and that's how it all began.

Williams, who hadn't been able to eat for days due to a lack of appetite from recent events, ordered nearly every item on the menu, astonishing every person present.

As they watched Williams consume plate after plate of food, like someone who hadn't eaten in years, everyone gradually became engrossed, and those who had initially started filming him to post on their social media accounts even forgot about it.

"I bet 1000 dollars that he wouldn't be able to finish those meals..."

"I also bet 1000 dollars that he wouldn't be able to finish everything in front of him."

"Challenge accepted! I bet $2000 that he will finish everything."

A group of friends in the corner promptly placed their wagers.

Like so, Williams who was focused on quelling his hunger, unwittingly became the center of attention and a source of income and entertainment for everyone present.

Only God knows how shocked they would have been if they had known that, at this moment, Williams had forgotten everything else—where he was, who was around, and what they were doing. He saw only the meals in front of him.

He ate and ate, one plate at a time, and by the time he finished the last meal on the last plate, the place had become completely silent. Even the sound of a pin dropping would have been deafening in the hushed atmosphere.

Dropping his fork into the plate which directly made a clinging sound, breaking the silence. Williams drank a glass of water and then suddenly burped loudly.

"That was so satisfying," he muttered to himself with content and blissful.

But in the next second, he was astonished.

"Why is everyone looking at me as if I were a freak?"

Williams carefully observed the gaping crowd and scratched his head in confusion.

But then, one person regained their senses.

"Wow! What a beast!"

He was dumbfounded by this unexpected comment, but before he could react, everyone started shouting.

In the blink of an eye, the silent restaurant floor became lively once more, even more so than before, resembling a bustling outdoor marketplace.

[Boohoo! This system is so embarrassed! How did it, as handsome and scholarly as it is, become entangled with a host like this?!]

Williams heard a pitiful voice in his mind. Then combined with the remarks from the crowd, finally understood what was happening.

With that Wlliams quickly lowered his head to gaze at the table filled with empty plates and was shocked.

"Did I eat all of this?" He was bewildered.

As for the crowd, they fell silent for a moment upon hearing Williams' words, then their shouts grew louder.

"He didn't even realize how much he had eaten!"

"God! Is he even a human being?"

Those who had been filming Williams quickly saved the videos and began posting them. In less than a minute, the videos garnered a massive number of views, and people around the world were stunned.

Then the Social media, like the restaurant, became chaotic, with everyone debating whether Williams was human or not.

Some people immediately attempted to contact Williams to invite him to their eating competitions. However, Williams was oblivious to all of this.

As for the group of friends who had wagered on whether he would succeed or fail, the one who had bet on Williams was filled with excitement, while the ones who had lost were only filled with confusion, not sadness.

"How were you so certain he would finish those meals?"

"Hehehe! You all were only concerned about the amount of food being too much for a regular person, but you didn't notice how he didn't slow down at all during the meal. Like... no wonder I'm a betting genius."

The place became so chaotic that the security guards had to plead for quiet before order was restored.

But even then, everyone continued to mutter under their breaths, leaving Williams embarrassed.

'How did my meal-eating session turn into such a spectacle!'

Williams' face turned red, and he could barely handle all the stares, as if he were a freak once again.

'I need to get out of here as soon as possible!'

Determined, Williams stood up and rushed to the lady who had assisted him earlier to settle his bills. However, as he walked along the place, his legs trembled even more due to the relentless stares.

"He... Hello, I need my bills"

He asked the still-dazed lady, who, like the rest, was gaping at him as if he were an alien.

"Hello, please, can I get my bills?"

“Ah… yes, I… I apologize for my loss of composure, sir.”

The beautiful lady quickly apologized and lowered her head to type on the computer for a moment.

After a few seconds, a long receipt began to print.

It was so long that everyone, including Williams, was left speechless.

'That... did I really consume all of this?'

The redness on Williams' face deepened as he finally took the receipt.

As for the lady, her face had suddenly become pale for some reason, and then she started gazing at Williams with hope in her eyes.

"Sir... I... you assured me that you could afford to pay for everything you ordered. Please don't make me regret letting you dine here," Williams heard the lady whisper in a way that only the two of them would hear.

"It's okay," Williams smiled gently to reassure the lady.

Although he couldn't deny that he was astonished by the amount of food he had consumed, it wouldn't be a problem for him to pay in his current financial situation.

"50,000 dollars..." Williams muttered to himself as he glanced at the total on the receipt again, unaware that everyone there was straining to hear the amount.

"Gosh!!! 50,000 dollars!!!"

Many people screamed dramatically, shocking Williams and leaving those who hadn't heard the amount dumbfounded.

"Unbelievable! Eating a meal worth 50,000 dollars!"

"Even though the meals here are expensive, to begin with, isn't consuming a 50,000-dollar meal considered excessive?"

"Wow!!! I've learned something new today!"

He looked blankly at everyone and was once again embarrassed.

'Darn it!'
